3-bedroom remote cabin on lake with trails to hike. Peaceful getaway from it all
Welcome to Bear Trap Cabin! This terrific property features 3 queen beds and 2 twin beds spread across 3 bedrooms (one is an open loft), along with 2 bathrooms equipped with all the essentials. Basement has a different access point than the upstairs living quarters with a laundry room, bar, living room, work area, games and a full bath. A great place to get away from it all and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Great for families, weekend getaways, or a romantic stay. We make sure to make it unique to all of our guests. You will have access to our shared lake, private pond, and 40 acres of land to roam around on. Take a hike on our trails, fish, or kayak. Relax on the deck with your morning coffee and enjoy a cocktail by the fire in the evening. Fully loaded with all the amenities needed.

Start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Make sure basement door is locked as well as the front door. Place all garbage in garbage sacks and into the bins located by the garage. Do not put loose garbage in the bins due to wildlife.
If you use the kayaks or lily pad, make sure they are put back up by the house. Do not leave them in the water.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No hunting on the property - you will be removed immediately by authorities. Fishing is permitted. Must follow State of Illinois regulations.
No big parties of any sort. Only registered guests are permitted during your time of stay. No over the road vehicles are allowed on trails.
Tents are allowed within the 8 person capacity. If additional guests with tents, must be approved by owner and will have additional fees applied.

Yes. the host was great. We did have problems getting into the cabin when we arrived. The code did not work in for the door. Called host and she was able to give a code to enter. We had a great hike in the woods. Pictures of cabin do tend to make the cabin seem bigger than it really is. Stairs to loft are very unsafe. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Our cabin pictures were taken professionally and no rooms were enhanced to make them appear any larger. I responded and called Susan one minute after she messaged that they could not get the code to work. I unlocked the cabin remotely and gave them another code, they were in the property within minutes. The stairs to our loft are typical cabin stairs and have passed code inspections, we put in our description that they are steep. We have had over 500 plus guests stay in our cabin without any issues. As always, I tell all guests to review our cabin rental listing to ensure that there is no confusion as to what we offer. This guest messaged several times after her booking around 2am asking if the basement was finished and heated, etc....I had to keep referring her back to the listing as all of it is well described and pictures show that it was finished.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cabin! The home was cozy, spotless, and fully stocked with everything we needed. The property is peaceful and absolutely gorgeous, and the amenities made our stay even better.The lake was just steps from the cabin and great for relaxing by the water. It was shallow enough that we could touch the muddy bottom, and there was a good amount of seaweed and green plant matter floating around. It didn’t stop us from enjoying the peaceful views and time by the water.Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay again!
