This modern cabin has it all - quiet wooded surroundings, cozy and inviting decor, and stocked with every comfort you could want. The screened-in deck offers a stunning view of the water, and the private dock offers fantastic fishing. Our host was welcoming and responsive, making my dad’s 79th birthday trip with my sisters truly unforgettable.
The cabin was better than described. The lake was wonderful with plenty of fish. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. The beds were very comfortable. Visited the cabin as quick getaway from the daily grind with the wife and the dog and it was so peaceful, we didn’t wanna leave.
Me and a couple buddies were looking for a place to stay close to Forbes Lake for a small club tournament. This is a great place to stay, clean, comfortable and extremely secluded and secure. Lots of deer and probably plenty of bluegill in the pond out back. Nice grill as well. Would definitely stay again.

Thanks Darren you guys are welcome back anytime! Hope you caught some fish.
I ventured out to find a quiet, peaceful place where I could get some writing done. The cabin was clean, modern, and well maintained. The surrounding area was exactly what I needed. No outside world interruptions with the added benefit of internet access. It is somewhere I would love to go back too.
From the moment we arrived we were impressed with everything. As soon as you opened the door of the cabin you noticed how much thought was put into the decor and could see right to the back of the property and the stunning lake view. The property was very clean and equipped with everything you could need from cooking supplies, dishes, entertainment and then some. We loved the bedrooms with the comfortable beds and high quality linens. This was the perfect spot for a fall weekend. We enjoyed using the kayaks, catching numerous catfish and bluegill right from the dock, grilling out and sitting around the firepit in the evening watching all the stars. The screened in back deck was wonderful as well. We spent hours sitting on the deck, sharing our meals together and appreciated being sheltered from the rain and any bugs. The living room was very comfortable and we enjoyed watching football games on the large screen TV. Beautiful property and very peaceful. The host provided everything we could have possibly needed. Communication was easy, quick and awesome. Great weekend!
Hunter's Heaven was the perfect place to stay for our quick getaway weekend. Shane was always responsive to our communications. He even let us check-in early which was much appreciated. The cabin was stocked with everything we could want or need. We made all of our meals in the well laid out kitchen with nice new appliances. The living room was perfect for watching a movie, bathrooms were pristine, and the bed was very comfy. We spent most of our time on the covered back deck enjoying the sights and sounds of nature while it rained. When it wasn't raining, we caught at least 50 fish from the dock. We took a walk on the country roads and took some pictures of all the farm fields filled with yellow butterweed. I don't think we saw one person all weekend. Thank You Shane for offering this unique rental and we can't wait to come back!
Our only regret was that our trip was so short! Check in and check out was seamless. The house was very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment one might need. We enjoyed the quiet and seclusion of the location. Having access to a private lake was a very special thing. My husband and son enjoyed kayaking and using the pedal boat and I loved the screened in deck where I could take it all in and read a book. The fish in the lake were active and we saw some interesting birds and deer. I didn't get the chance to use the grill, but it looked sweet! We loved being able to travel with our dog and it was amazing that the property had a high quality dog bed available. He enjoyed walking around the property, playing down by the lake and being able to look out of all of the windows! The living area was very comfortable and we enjoyed watching movies together on the big screen TV after a day in the sun. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was nice. We were only at the property for two nights, but it was so nice that it ranks right up there with some of our longer vacations. 10/10 would recommend!
I can't recommend Hunter's Heaven enough! Our group included my husband and myself, my elderly mother, another (extremely opinionated) family member, and our dogs. To my great joy and relief, everyone had a good time, without a single complaint! Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was the gorgeous and peaceful setting. The home was clean, smelled great, was tastefully decorated, and the kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms were each a nice size and the beds were very comfortable....I am not exaggerating when I say that I had better sleep here than I've had in months, and my husband could not stop talking about replacing all of our pillows at home after staying here. lol. The walk-in shower was so nice, and the couch / living room area was comfortable and welcoming. The screened back porch overlooking the water was where we spent the most time. It was a spacious and peaceful place to relax, visit, and have coffee and meals. We were so grateful to spend time outside near the water without being eaten alive by bugs. My husband fished from the dock and caught bluegill and a nice catfish, and our pups loved being able to explore. We were in the area from 2 hours away to visit family. There aren't many options in the Kinmundy area, so we weren't sure what to expect, but this stay was top notch! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Shane was responsive and very nice. We definitely look forward to staying here again!

Why they chose this property
I picked this area because its quiet with great neighbors and had the perfect cabin site over looking a 2 acre lake site. I also enjoy the great restaurants not far away like Fire Fly and Gabby Goat plus others. Carlyle lake, Stephen A Forbes, and Kinmundy Lake are all close by for fishing and boating.
What makes this property unique
I think my property is unique with its modern design and the cabin sits over looking its own private lake on 30 acres.
