Terrible Experience...Terrible Host
We booked this place for two nights the first week of April for a family Wedding at the end of May. The listing says it sleeps 29 and we had 24 family members coming, which the host knew when we booked. Two days before check-in, the host reached out to me to tell me they made a mistake when we booked and we owed an additional fee. Vrbo has an upfront pricing policy that there will be no surprise fees after booking. When I tried to discuss this with the host through Vrbo messages, the host ghosted me. I reached out to Vrbo support. We ended up being on the phone with support for several hours before they said to pay the extra fee so I won't lose the booking. Because we had 24 people coming from around the country, including some from Europe, we went ahead and paid the extra fee because we had no choice. Two hours before check-in, the host texted me that there was a water main break and cancelled our reservation. I checked with the local water authority and there was no break. We had to scramble to find hotel rooms for everyone which was difficult last minute. Terrible host. In the end, VRBO gave us a full refund.
