Welcome to The Ranch!
Escape to the serene countryside of Afton, Minnesota, nestled on the side of Mt. Hope on a 17-acre property in the St. Croix River Valley. Whether you are looking for a couple’s escape, a family getaway, or a girls' weekend, you will have plenty of room to relax and unwind.

~Seasonal Activities~

Spring/Summer: Walk/Hike/Bike in nearby state parks and trails. Take a riverboat ride or see glacial potholes in Taylors Falls. Visit local wineries and restaurants as well as shopping centers in Woodbury, Stillwater, and Hudson. Visit one of many golf courses nearby.

Fall/Winter: Fall colors are amazing in the St. Croix River Valley. Enjoy a bonfire or take a walk/hike. In the winter, you can visit Afton Alps (6.2mi), Trollhaugen (39mi), and Wild Mountain (48 mi) for skiing/snowboarding/tubing. The Ranch is equipped with many indoor options as well! Shoot pool, play darts and board games, watch a movie, or just kick back and relax with your friends or family.

We now boast a sauna! Kick back and enjoy the steam in this brand new spot. Relax and wind down after a long day!

~Helpful Information~

Arrival: House is located around a bend with many trees. It can come up quickly so keep an eye out for it. There is a long driveway to parking spots. When exiting, it can be helpful to roll down the driver's side window to listen for any cars that might be coming as visibility to the left is low.

Designed to accommodate up to 10 guests, this 3-bedroom, 3-bath is ideal for family getaways, retreats, or country escapes. Children are warmly welcomed, and the property is well-suited for hosting events.

We loved the area and owners were awesome. Negatives; The toilets were all dirty. The queen bed creaked all the time so they did not sleep well. The hide a bed was uncomfortable. Loved the animals. Friday was hoping to walk trails but rained all day. The master suite was awesome. Did not see shades on some of the master windows and sliding door. Otherwise overall was great. Thanks

Excellent stay, Laurie and Sean were outstanding if we had a question they answered right away. Such a great place for our family get together, lots of space, clean and everything you need. Bonus got to pet the horses and play with the cats. Felt like home staying here. Thank you

Wonderful experience! Before we even got to the house, we saw horses and got to pet the sweet farm cats. Beautiful home, absolutely amazing master bedroom with 2twin mattresses in overlooking loft which we thought would be most appropriate for parents with two kids (able to safely climb up a spiral staircase) not for two people who wanted more privacy in the master bedroom. We ended up sharing the two full bathrooms and 1/2 bath. Our family loved sitting around the large table that seats at least 10, to share meals or play games or whatever, lounging in the large seating area, sitting on the deck to watch deer stroll through the meadow, and playing pool in the basement while listening to Frank Sinatra on vinyl records. Really close to Selma‘s ice cream shop in downtown Afton! Enjoyed the homemade cookies left for us. Internet not great and unable to access our own Netflix, but plenty of DVDs furnished or bring your own. Our phones all worked fine. We were all too busy doing above activities together anyway and enjoying State Fair to miss TV. We had to call Jez with a couple questions, who was very responsive. Thank you so much, definite five stars!

Peaceful and relaxing

House was spacious. Rooms were well kept and cleaned. Family room has a pool table which is a plus. Patios are perched high up. There's a washer and dryer, albeit older models, but functioning. Spacious kitchen and dining area. Would definitely stay there again.

It was a nice house, very clean. It was a very peaceful location. The kids loved the outdoor cats. The internet was spotty so we had to use our spots, which is understandable for the location. We would definitely stay there again.
