This is a beautiful and well cared for home. Check in was very easy with door code access. The home has four levels with ample bedrooms and bathrooms. There are two balconies with space to sit and listen to the world go by. The kitchen had everything we needed with a large fridge, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher. We did not use the wi-fi but it was available and the parking was easy street parking gained by having a parking pass placed on the dash. We had no problem finding parking steps away from the house. The location was very walkable, about 10 minutes to the green line and to a shopping district with a Target and other stores as well as some good local restaurants and coffee shops. Great neighborhood to explore. We were there to see some baseball games and take in D.C., the house was perfect for 6 friends with easy metro access to get us everywhere we wanted to go.

Beautiful property, but issues with maintenance, and we didn’t receive offered refund for inconvenie
This is a beautiful property in a convenient location. The living space was spacious and was comfortable for our group of six. There were plenty of dishes, cooking utensils, and towels.I would rate this property as a 5-star, but for the following conditions.- the 2nd floor shower leaked through the floor into the living room. This obviously was not new, as there was damage to the ceiling indicating previous leaks, and the separate tub had a sign stating not to use it because of leaks.- I had inquired about smoke detectors before our stay, because they weren’t noted on the listing. I was assured there were smoke detectors. When we arrived there were smoke detectors on the second and fourth floors, but they had been removed from the first and third floors.We were able to make it work using the two remaining showers, since there were just six of us staying there.The maintenance person I communicated with was very responsive and checked with us to coordinate a time for taking care of the smoke detectors. I was told, in writing, that the owners would like to give me a refund for the inconvenience. I checked out five days ago, have inquired twice, and have not received any compensation

We are happy when our guests take the time to review our property, because despite our best attempts to prepare the perfect home and service; in a 100 year old renovated home-things do pop up from time to time; and we stand ready to improve.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused by the slow water drip and the missing smoke detectors, which had been removed by previous guests due to low batteries. The low battery life, in the detectors, was causing an annoying beeping sound, unbeknownst to us. Although the dismounting of the smoke detectors by our former guests, was reported to VRBO Security by our current guests, we were able to report back to VRBO Security that we replaced the batteries of the 2 missing detectors, we immediately re-installed those 2 of the already 12 installed smoke detectors throughout this home. Additionally, we engaged 3 different licensed plumbers, as soon as this guest reported the drip, who determined that the source of the drip was our newly installed shower. Unfortunately, the lack of an access panel made the slight leak difficult to resolve immediately, as the intermittent slow leak was located inside the solid wall. That repair would require destroying a concrete wall-major construction!
However, we ensured our guests had other showers and a large tub to use in the absence of 1 of 3 showers in the home. We contacted VRBO to explain the immediate changes we made. We will continue to spend the resources to provide the best possible service and home to our valued guests. And of course, we always stand open to feedback.
