Our Story
We first met while working at the YMCA of the Rockies during the summer of 1974. During that summer, both of us developed a lifelong love of the Estes Park area and Rocky Mountain National Park. After living and working in the Denver area for many years, we decided to acquire a vacation retreat during 2009, and Estes Park was our choice. We were attracted to the location of our condo, (The Hideout) due to its convenient location near downtown Estes Park, the quiet neighborhood, and, above all else, the wonderful deck with its amazing views.
We have many fond memories of our time in Estes Park. These include special times with our children, grandchildren and good friends. We have especially enjoyed the many hiking opportunities in the area, times playing games and assembling jigsaw puzzles, witnessing wildlife and, watching sunsets on the wonderful deck.
Our favorite activities include hiking in and around Rocky Mountain National Park and the Indian Peaks area. The Estes Park Community Center is a first class facility for working out. We also enjoy exploring many of the historical locations in the area, such as the nearby Stanley Hotel, Estes Park museum, historic Park Theater ( the USA’s oldest), YMCA of the Rockies, MacGregor Ranch, and many others. We enjoy dining at many of the local establishments such as The Rock Inn, Estes Thai, Sweet Basilico, Smokin Dave’s Barbecue, and many others. Also, the historic Estes Park 18-hole Golf Course is an enjoyable and scenic outing. Spending time in downtown Estes Park getting ice cream and window shopping is also a fun activity.
We welcome you to our home and hope you have a very pleasant and relaxing time during your visit.
