We had a good time. The place was pretty quiet and the staff friendly. Beautiful view from the room. It was fun to walk around near the horse stables.

A great location and nice rooms

The beds were nice and the bathroom clean. That’s about all there is to the rooms, which was fine for us. We sat and had a good chat with Doug before heading out for the day and he gave lots of great suggestions for things to do and see around the area.

It’s taken me forever to write this review because our time there was so amazing that I’m afraid a review won’t do it justice! I took my mom on a hiking trip to Estes & the Rocky Mountain park and wanted a quiet, relaxing place to stay after hiking all day. What we got from the Dao House was so much more than expected! First we loved everyone that worked there- the staff are kind and thoughtful and were so wonderful to my mom and I. My mom got altitude sickness the night we arrived. It was scary. Doug got her into the oxygen room, Laura went into town and got supplements to help her from a local store, and everyone checked on her daily. They went above and beyond every chance they got. Doug gave us all the good pointers of where to go and what hikes we would like. Christina would save mom’s favorite chocolate muffins for her to make sure she got one at breakfast. Louis gave her coffee from his home when he realized how much she loved good coffee and was always bringing joy to our days! Sam does a brilliant job running it. The rooms are small with a couple of beds, but they are very nice, comfortable, and clean. We weren’t there to sit in our rooms & hang out- we were enjoying the property & surrounding areas! We were happy to be free of technology & the rooms have a long balcony where we would sit and watch the elk walk past in the evening. The lodge lobby is a giant log cabin living room and we would sit and talk to all the new friends we made there. We loved it
