It is an excellent location to explore the Glacier, Flathead, and Kalispell area. The quiet secluded location on Lake Blaine was great for getting away from crowds. The owner was great and made us very comfortable and provided some Huckleberry treats.

Thank you for the review. It is always a pleasure to meet my guests ad help in any way I can to make their Montana visit special. I hope you got to see the eagle that was flying overhead and diving for fish in Lake Blaine today!
The cabin is lovely. We loved our lake and Mountain View from our cabin and enjoyed the quiet and calmness the place had to offer. Sue is a wonderful hostess and very kind. She made our MT trip a 10/10!
The cabin on Lake Blaine was just what we needed for our anniversary vacation!! We used it as a base camp and explored Glacier National Park and other surrounding towns. The cabin was exactly as described and the host was more than hospitable! The cabin was well stocked and even had some important items that we didn't realize we needed for our day trips. We were able to relax down by the lake in the evenings and even took a few days just to hang by the water.Beautiful stay!!
This property is awesome. Right on the lake and so pretty to wake up in the woods and hear the gentle waves. Sure, was a great host, checking was easy and accommodating. We enjoyed going down to the water at night and watching the bats, watching the deer in the morning eating plants. This was a very peaceful and great experience.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed 6 days at this lovely cabin! It was the perfect peaceful end to our adventurous days of hiking in the national park. Sue had the cabin stocked with essentials we didn’t even think of. She was a great hostess!
Absolutely loved our stay here! It was the prefect location, clean, and great for a two person stay. We would love to return to Glacier and would love even more to stay in this cabin again. Highly recommend.
Want to stay in a beautiful, secluded lake home ?!
This gorgeous cabin on a mountain lake is a gem for those visiting the Kalispell and Glacier Park area. We stayed there in August 2019 to enjoy mountain hiking. It was our third trip to the area and it was by far the best accommodations we have experienced in the area. Glacier park is crowded, noisy and cabins there are one star at best. The Lake Blane Cabin is on a private road, with absolute privacy and quiet, with the exception of frequent visits of deer and turkeys, The owner, Sue, will warmly welcome you to a well stocked and equipped kitchen, comfy bath area, and a lake view to greet you each morning. This modern, glassy cabin is a gem for those seeking an outdoor experience with all the important creature comforts including a great deck for breakfast or afternoon beverages. Glacier park and huge national forests are only 30 minutes away. One of the best area restaurants is 10 minutes from your door. The owner is a gracious host who truly cares for your experience and will respond to your needs. Quit clicking around the internet, this is the best combination of location, value, and comfort you will find in the Glacier area.

If you are looking for a nice quiet place on a lake, this is it. It is also located about 30 minutes from glacier National Park. Very clean and in excellent shape. Also kayaks and a canoe provided (and a dock to sit on) for the lake. Only issue was I thought the rental had WiFi, but did not ( not a big deal, we just used our hotspot)
Ms Sue was great and always available if needed. Little cell phone service no WiFi and no air conditioning but nights were cool and there is a fan. Beautiful Lake

WE LOVED IT
The cabin was perfect for us. Very clean and well stocked with all the little things we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. Sue, (the owner of the cabin) even left us ice cream and fresh Huckleberries to put over the ice cream. Not to mention the homemade Huckleberry jam she put in the fridge. It was a real treat in the evenings. So relaxing to set in front of the windows and just look out over the lake. As far as things to do..........there were a million things to do and see. We saw deer and fawn each morning that would come down to the lake. Glacier was beautiful. The towns of Bigfork and Whitefish were great. We even went to the Northwestern Montana Fair and Rodeo in Kalispell. I wished we could have stayed and few more days. If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay this cabin is it. Thank you Sue.

Cozy studio with proximity to Glacier National Park
Had a very nice stay here. We spent most of our days either hiking at Glacier National Park or checking out the nearby towns of Bigfork, Kalispell, and Whitefish. The cabin was perfect for a bit of dawdling in the morning over coffee and cooking breakfast with the lake and mountains as a backdrop. The huckleberry jam and pizzelles were a nice touch! The kitchen was plenty big to cook dinner for two in the evenings. Overall, a peaceful and cozy place to stay only thirty minutes from the park.

Amazing week and perfect location away from it all!
The cabin and property were perfect for our needs for the week. Sue greeted us when we arrived, and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed (including bear spray....thankfully we never had to use it, but saved us $45 if we had to buy it ourselves). The location is perfect in that it's away from it all, right on the lake, but yet close enough to Glacier, Kalispell, Bigfork/Flathead Lake, and Whitefish. We could come back after a long hike in Glacier and enjoy a glass of wine down on the dock. Most mornings we had a peaceful breakfast and coffee out on the porch, watching the cutest little fawn walk around. Deer greeted us along the road every evening when we returned. Lots of amazing areas to explore, and now we wish we had stayed an extra week! We will be back!! Kristy and Bob (Houston, TX)

Perfect little get away
Wonderful get-away for vacation to Glacier. This is about 30 minutes from Glacier but in hind sight we are so glad we did not stat in Glacier as we most likely would not have left Glacier to explore other places, like Whitefish or Big Fork Staying on Blaine Lake was wonderfully private and Sue was extremely helpful. Her place was very comfortable especially after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. While my husband did did catch fish in Glacier park, he did on Lake Blaine! Only one issue, the shower was a bit difficult to use, but I'm sure that will be resolved quickly! Otherwise, wonderful experience!

Wonderful cabin in the woods
This little cabin was great. All the equipment was available to make my own meals. The big front windows to view the lake were perfect and the view of the Lake Blaine was great. Floating devices were available to float in the lake. The bed was comfortable and plenty of linens for our stay of 5 days. The cabin was very clean, occasional wood ants, but what do you expect when in the woods? The cabin is 15-20 minutes away from Kalispell or Bigfork for many great places to eat and 5 minutes to a convenience store for forgotten items. Sue was there to open up and get us settled right away. I would certainly recommend this cabin for those wanting to be on the lake as it is a very short walk to the shoreline. Perfect for 2 people, and there is a hide a bed in the couch, just ask if it is ok to have overnighters as the rules say no overnight guests.
A must place to go for a great meal and microbrew is Tamarack Brewery in Lakeside, about 30 minutes south on the west side of Flathead Lake. Flathead Lake Brewery in Bigfork is another brewery with good food. Downtown Bigfork is a fun place to wander into little shops and a quaint little town. The old town side of Kalispell is also a great place to wander about and look in lots of little shops.
I would definitely stay here again the next time I need a place to stay close to Kalispell.

Great getaway!
We stayed at the cabin for a full week. It is a beautiful place to get away from the crowds. Very quiet and peaceful. The cabin is very spacious for two people. We liked the open layout of the studio cabin. We were not there during the day but we did see many deer each morning early. Love the huge windows that overlook the lake and allow you to see the stars at night. The bed was very comfortable as was the furniture. Lots of great books to read. Only thing we overlooked in the description is there is no washer/dryer and there were few washcloths (only 4) but nothing a quick trip to K-mart didn't solve. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Regret we did not get to meet Sue but we were away all during the day. Sue was very friendly in our phone conversations and I have no doubt that she would address problems quickly if needed. Thanks Sue for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

Great Retreat
This cabin was a great choice for our Glacier getaway. The space is studio style that combines the comforts of a condo and a design that compliments the main reason many travel to Montana: the view. The reason you would rent this cabin is for the lake and mountain view it provides.
The kitchen was great, we had plenty of tools to cook all of meals we wished, and were well within a few minutes of a grocery store to serve our needs.
As with previous reviews, we saw deer, fox, hawks and turkey on the property.
Some minor considerations that prevented us from giving the cabin 5 stars: the cabin has no air conditioning. This fact, while not highlighted in the description, is for many a given. It is not. Be aware that afternoons on hot days can get stuffy and the fan system may not be enough to cool the space to your liking. For us, this was a minor issue because we were out touring during this time. Our advice would be to keep the fans running and windows open while you're away, weather permitting. Also be aware that the daily temperatures can swing 40 degrees easily. We had mornings that were in the low 40s and by 1pm the temperature hit the high 90s. Plan accordingly.
There was a great deal of brush that grew and obstructed our view of the lake and mountains form within the cabin. Again, this is minor, but we would have liked see more of the view that what we paid for.
Aside from the observations above, we loved the cabin and the owner was very kind. She was easy to get in touch with and accomidating.

After reading your review, I looked with “new eyes” at the view from the cabin, and decided that you were right on with your comments. So, with my trusty saw and clippers, I did a lot of cutting down, lopping and trimming today. This was not easy for me, as I just hate to remove anything that is green and growing. But, it really was the right thing to do, and I am very glad that you pointed this out.

Beautiful Location
This spacious cabin met all of our needs. It is well equipped, very clean, and includes use of various floats for the lake. From the cabin we saw deer, wild turkeys, fox, and lots of birds. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. There are neighboring cabins close by so if total seclusion if what you seek this may not be the right place for you.

About the host
Hosted by Sue Abbrescia
We moved to Montana because my artist husband fell in love with the landscape during a business trip here in the early 1970's. We were from the Chicago area where we had established the Village Art School in Skokie. We decided to vacation in Montana the following summer. We loved Montana and it was at that time that we purchased our 13 acre property and then a couple of years later were able to add the cabin and another half acre. We already had a home on the property but wanted this cabin for my husband's art/painting studio. You may have heard of him, as he did become a very well-known, award-winning artist. Joe passed away in 2005. During the summer of 2012, I remodeled the studio and now offer it to travelers as a vacation rental.
Why they chose this property
We walked down the path through the 13 wooded acres, sun shining, a warm, beautiful day, and came to the lake. That was it! We had to have this piece of heaven! We were lucky. It had not been on the market, it was shown to us by the owner, a friend of a friend of ours. I love Montana, will never leave, and am certain that you will love it, too.
What makes this property unique
Walking down a wooded trail, and then the lake comes into view, with mountains to the north and east…does it get any better! We had found our ' paradise'. That was in 1976, 45 years ago. As happens over time, an area grows. But, we still have our piece of paradise, a getaway where we can enjoy the serenity of our lake-front property, walk the trails or kick-back with a good book on the deck or lakeshore. And, the sunsets are soooo beautiful!
