UPDATE: Please see picture of recent riverbank changes. River access has become difficult & limited due to a recent windstorm that removed a healthy amount of land along the river. Access off back deck is not recommended. Feel free to inquire.
River's Edge radiates a cabin feel, yet has all the necessities of home. Rustic decor including clocks, radios & snow gear reminds you that time almost stands still here, but AppleTV and HomePods remind you to stay in the present. The river, just off the deck, drowns out any distractions from your relaxation.
Neighborhood: This is a quiet neighborhood w/ very only a few houses. Outside the neighborhood is where all the magic happens. Check the Guidebook below for Must See, Do & Eat's. If you get rained out, chill my homey brethren. River's Edge has your back with that 24/7 lazy-day-feels setup. Translation: It's Comfortable AF. Der Baring Store is a walk down the road & Index General Store is a short drive for most necessities. Gold Bar and Skykomish are each about 10 min away with more food options. Close proximity to Stevens Pass for skiing, mt biking, hiking, getting more food, or just hanging out, people watching.

House Rules: No smoking indoors Check-in is anytime after 4PM Check out by 11AM Self check-in with smart lock If you want to have a SMALL outdoor fire in the pit, plan on bringing wood. There is not a supply at the house. Do not pull wood from nearby properties.
The space: The "neighborhood" has very low traffic and property is mostly very-private. Access to the river allows for fishing and splashing around during certain times of the year.
Guest access: You can take a stroll through the quiet neighborhood surrounded by forest and wetlands. Or you can meander down to the river and have your go at skipping rocks or pulling a steelhead out with a rod. Sheds and small cabin are currently off limits. For safety sake and to prevent from further erosion, the river should not be accessed from directly in front of house.
Interaction with guests: I will be a phone call, text or email away. I know what it's like to be bothered on a vacation and I know what it's like to need something in a pinch. I will be available when you need to help alleviate all stresses you came here to avoid.
You must also acknowledge: Must climb stairs - Three stairs on the porch and deck, 15 stairs to the loft/master bedroom Potential for noise - Trains. All day about one every two hours. Maybe one at night. It's pretty faint and wakes light sleepers. Bring ear plugs if you need. Amenity limitations - You're in the mountains with variable weather. This area is prone to power outages. This cabin is great and very well stocked. The view off the deck is amazing. The host contacted us rite away when the power went out for a very short period of time to make sure all was well. I really appreciated that. Thank you for a great place to stay.

Lovely spot. Quiet and relaxing. Clean and cozy cabin. Brendan (host) very responsive and helpful. We had sun, rain, sleet and snow! Amazing to watch the changes over the mountains . The small towns surrounding the area, trails, eateries make this a perfect get away location.

Wonderful location
Fantastic cabin, great owner. Everything you could possibly need. If you are a very light sleeper bring ear plugs as the trains will wake you when they blow their horn. Be careful if you rent this place, as you may never want to leave.

About the host
Hosted by Brendan Baughn
I make it my #1 priority to ensure you have a welcoming and relaxing, yet entertaining stay. I strive to respond promptly when you reach out for questions or concerns. I have over 5 years of rental experience in vacation and tenant rentals.
I am understanding and appreciate good communicators who are honest. I will be very forgiving with openness or when notified of issues, rather than disguising broken property and sneaking in additional guests or pets.
Why they chose this property
My dad built this cabin, so it's special to me. Apparently not as special to him as he now wants to sell it. Lucky for me he's offered a bargain that I can pay in installments. Lucky for you I need help with those installments.
What makes this property unique
River front, family style cabin with cute/cozy factors through the roof. A large deck with a propane BBQ and mountainous views. Reasonably sized yard and additional separate unit to sleep a Max of 8 upon request.
