A RIO CLASSIC
Copacabana is one of the most iconic neighborhoods in Brazil — and in the world. Until the late 19th century, it was an isolated area with limited access. The name comes from a chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Copacabana, originally venerated in Bolivia.
That all changed in 1892 with the opening of the old tunnel connecting the South Zone to downtown.
