History: Ruby Stove Cottage has a long history of welcoming visitors to the area, with Sally and Mary Browne (my husband's aunts) offering a cup of tea to many passers-by over the years. They would sit on a bench at the front of the house, and chat with the passing neighbors or the summer visitors to the area. It was easier to walk the roads in those days, as tractors were smaller, and cars were slower and less frequent. There were also no tour buses rushing to the next destination. At that time, the cottage was known as Tonduff, which is the name of the Townland in which it is located.
The cottage has been in the Browne family since the early 1900's. The Brownes raised a family of five children in the original two-room cottage. Everyone worked together on the farm, and the next generations continue the tradition. The family still have farms on the Causeway Road within a stone's throw of the cottage. The kitchen in this cottage was always a hub of farm life.

We just loved our stay here. Well-appointed cottage with all the details necessary for a lovely visit. The location is peaceful and perfect for exploring all of the beauty of the Causeway Coast.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! House was well equipped and it was so nice to come back to after a long day of exploring. Beautiful parts of the causeway coast are a short drive away and Betsy provided us with a whole list of places to check out. Super easy check in and all the amenities you could need.
We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed and was perfectly located near places we wanted to see. The hosts were helpful and the place was spotless. We felt at home and enjoyed our time here. I would definitely stay again!

We so enjoyed staying at Ruby Stove Cottage. It was comfortable and very well equipped. We appreciated the little extras: milk in the fridge, snacks, toiletries and plenty of clean towels!

Thank you, Penny! It was lovely to have you, and I'm glad the back door was a good solution to the front door malfunction! Would welcome you back any time!

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for being great guests!
A lovely warm and spacious property with a very comfortable bed and log burner. Amazing location close to so many landmarks and a perfect base to explore the causeway coast. We will be returning and would throughly recommend.
Ideal for causeway coast sightseeing. A mile from Giants Causeway, and close to other interesting places to visit. Beautiful scenery & a must to visit white bay & see the cows on the beach & walk along the bay. A car is preferable here to public transport.
Booked this as a surprise for my parents and they had a lovely time. Betsy was a brilliantly helpful and communicative host. There are so many places to explore in the vicinity! Highly recommended.

Great little cottage
A lovely, well equipped, very spacious and comfortable cottage. We had a couple of chilly evenings, so really appreciated the log fire!
Highly recommended.
This was a well kept, beautiful cottage! We stayed for our elopement at Dunluce Castle and the property was conveniently located, had beautiful surroundings, and the host was responsive and very friendly. We would gladly come back
The property was clean and comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The car parking area wasn’t the easiest to negotiate but it was good that it had one. The garden needed a bit of a tidy. The location was quiet enough and near to the places we wanted to look at. There were a few nice places to eat and some shops in Bushmills
This is a great place to give you access to the staggering cliffs of the causeway coast. A short (1km) walk gets you to the coast with it peregrines and dolphins. No need to pay the NT parking. We had. great time here.
So close! Just a walk away. And such a beautiful home with everything you need. Highly recommended!

About the host
Hosted by Betsy Browne
It’s my joy to continue the tradition of hospitality that was well established by my husband's aunts Sally and Mary in this wee cottage. They were born and raised in this home, and lived here all their lives, entertaining countless visitors, and always welcoming the passing traveler. We live carrying on the tradition of hospitality that was firmly established by them, and by all the Brownes in Tonduff.
Why they chose this property
I love experiencing cottage life while still having easy access to the amenities of town. It’s also easy to get to Giants Causeway, White Park Bay, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, and other local sights. And if I don’t want to worry about parking, I can just hop on the bus!
What makes this property unique
Spacious rooms, desk in case you need to work, and free WIFI; light-filled interior; an actual bathtub to soak in at the end of the day, starter pack provided for the wood stove.
