Three Rivers is perched in the Sierra Nevada foothills at 1200ft, so it does not snow at the property during our mild winters. However, when you take the drive up into the Sequoia Park (5000ft+), it becomes a Winter Wonderland. Play in the snow and explore the Sequoias in the day, and then come down to your riverfront retreat for S'mores and hot chocolate around the campfire. Winter is a perfect time to getaway!
The home is located on a former gathering site of native American Indians, as evidenced by the mortars carved into the granite boulders and the pestle found on the property years ago. Today this beautiful spot continues to serve as a communal place for humans to reconnect with nature and each other. Perched above the Kaweah River and floating among a variety of oaks, the home has the feel of a Big Sur-inspired Japanese treehouse.
Sequoia National Park, America’s second oldest national park, is a must do day trip. No visit is complete without walking among the giant sequoias, including the General Sherman, believed to be the largest (and among the oldest at 2,300–2,700 years) living trees on the planet. Whether you pack your own picnic lunches (or pick them up from Sierra Subs, our local Yelp-Top 100 rated sandwich shop), having a picnic in Sequoia Park is an unforgettable experience. You can also opt for lunch at the Wuksachi Lodge, located just a few miles past the turn-off for the General Sherman tree.
Once you've walked the trail to the General Sherman tree, hiked the steps to the soaring peak of Moro Rock, explored the Crystal Cave and strolled through Crescent Meadow (and likely spotted black bears grazing), then it's time to come down the mountain where your luxury compound awaits: cook out on the grill, enjoy a nice bottle of wine, and roast S'mores around the campfire. After marveling at all the stars, you can retire to your private, well-appointed suite and let the river lull you into a restful sleep.

Sequoia Falls is a gem. The property, right on the river, is magical. There are multiple areas to gather inside and outdoors, as well as peaceful corners to catch a catnap or just listen to the sound of the river and wind chimes. So much care and thought has been put into preparing this property for guests; the difference is in the small details. SF is steps from Sequoia National Park, which we visited, but Three Rivers is a sweet escape in itself. This is easily the best house we have stayed in and will go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful week!
Wonderful experience! We highly recommend staying at the property. The host seems to have anticipated all of our needs and questions and we didn't have to ask questions. Loved our stay!
This property was everything we hoped for during our family vacation. Clean, well maintained and thoughtfully stocked to ensure the best guest experience. Highly recommend if you want a stellar property very close to the park.
Our extended family (ages 6 - 76) were amazed and delighted. We are all cooks, so the well -stocked kitchen was appreciated. Ever corner had a remarkable convenience, design feature, plant or book that made the visit even more restful and welcoming.
This was our first VRBO rental, and we were blown away with the details of a home away from home. The location is perfect to visit Sequoia and it was truly memorable being on the river. The kids loved it. The owner was very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend the property.
From booking the property with Chris and how much effort he put into welcoming us for my mom's 75th birthday, to the moment you walk across the wooden path to the house under an oak limb, everything is perfect! The house and property is so inviting. The rooms are so well-appointed, the kitchen has everything we could possibly need. Chris has thought of everything and the house feels like a home. We explored the property even more than nearby Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Sitting outside by the fire and listening to the Kaweah River flow by were our favorite highlight. To sum it up, my mom walked around saying "I'm looking for something I don't like about this house." She always does find something - except with Sequoia Falls. The only thing she could say was it wasn't ours. And we all had to agree! We hope to return someday to this amazing home. I can easily say it's by far the nicest place we've ever stayed.
Our family was in awe of this property & surroundings. We had 8 adults & a 5 year old in our group and we had more than enough room here since it included the adorable & spacious guest house
We had a family of 7 over Christmas and the place was absolutely perfect! Had everything (and more) that we needed, layout of house is exceptional, so many places to relax on the property, river frontage is prime, stocked with games and activities for whole family. Every one of us felt sad to leave!
Hands down, the best location in the area! The house is perfectly maintained with all the amenities one could ask for. We've stayed here for three days on two separate occasions, and it's never been enough.
It’s all been said, but I’ll go ahead and repeat. This property is amazing! The view, the sandy beach where we played bocce every night, the beautifully decorated interior, perfection. You won’t want to leave.
This place is perfect. Just magical and has absolutely anything and everything you might need to enjoy your stay. My husband said it was the most comfortable bed he has ever slept on. Dogs were in heaven and the property is super secure for them. Can't recommend this property enough and will most definitely be back.
Spectacular river front home with gorgeous design and abundant amenities.
Attention to design details, gourmet kitchen with all the appliances, tools and spices you would want. Private bedrooms and baths, luxurious beds and plenty of gorgeous gardens and outdoor spaces to relax in. 3 miles to the entrance to Sequoia National Park and all of its glory. Relaxing at night around the fire pit with the roar of the river was just perfect! 10 stars!
THIS PROPERTY is even more beautiful in person! The sounds of the river, the gorgeous interiors of the house, the smell of all things nature and earth. My first impression - This is heaven!
Chris, our attentive owner, was always available if we needed him. Thank you, Chris.

This was a great escape for my family. The house and lands were so we'll maintained and clean! The river was mellow enough that my 7 and 9 year old could swim and walk upriver (with life jackets). The rocks on the property were so fun to climb. We spent so much time outside, which was exactly what we needed. Due to COVID, we decided not to leave the property at all, and we made all of our meals in the wonderful kitchen provided. The only downside of this property was that our stay was way too short!
