Excellent accommodations, communication and attention to detail at every turn. We were very comfortable, in fact it felt like home. This home has everything you need for a great stay, whether visiting family or just need a country retreat, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Ed!
Ed was a very communicative, responsive, and gracious host. Our family spent Easter weekend there. Extended family was able to visit our 92 year old mom on Easter Day. She got to see her grand kids, great grandkids, and her great, great grandkids! The kitchen and house are clean, well stocked, and has lots of seating, eating, and visiting space. The setting is beautiful, and there’s lots to explore outdoors. Being pet friendly is a huge bonus! It was a lovely stay.
Nice getaway from the city life. Enjoyed the quietness of the location. Had some turkeys walking through the yard one morning which was a fun sight. Appreciate that this location was dog friendly.
Good communication with the host. Enjoyed the flea market in Hazen. Best pizza at Mama Rita’s in Worthville, PA. The walk around the property was a good workout . Caretaker of the home made it very comfortable.
The house and property were so nice! The dogs loved exploring and we enjoyed hiking the property

Thank you for enjoying our home while you celebrated Groundhog Day! We are happy you had a nice stay. Please come next time to see if Phil sees his shadow again!
Beautiful property. House was clean, roomy, well stocked and cozy.
Very easy to book and received daily updates from VRBO and the owner. Very nice get away and the property was beautiful and the house had everything we needed. We are hoping to return in warmer weather.
This was the perfect spot in Punxy while we were visiting family. It felt like Grandma's house and we really enjoyed looking through the very old year books we found. Our family of 7 hopes to spend more time here in the future!

WOW! Thank you for your kind review! We work really hard to help our guests love our home as much as I did growing up there! We especially like having our home full of family laughter again. We're so happy you enjoyed the yearbooks! (Did you find me?) Please contact us when you would like to stay again! Blessings, Ed and Becky
We very much enjoyed the quiet country setting of the house and found it to be well equipped for all of our needs. It was so refreshing to get off of the Interstate to the peace of this house.
Literally felt like staying at Grandmas house. Very clean and owner was very informative and helpful. Comfortable ans safe area love that they let you explore the barn and property. Hoping to stay there again next year.
We had a lovely stay in this very spacious home. Wonderful wildlife all around: hummingbirds, a family of deer in the field just behind the house, minnows in the creek, and fireflies at night. Everything is well organized, and communication with the host was excellent. Next time we'll stay longer!
Like going back in time and staying with grandma. Loved the farm house was only there one night would have loved to stay longer and explored the trails
Stayed during a family reunion. Very comfortable. Everything w

Felt like true home away from home
This was one of the best VBRO properties I have been to. The farm was set up like a true home including many thoughtful amenities. The owners were very generous with toiletries and food. It was a comfortable, clean, and quiet getaway for our family. We will return in the future.

It's always our pleasure to share our old homestead with nice guests. We always strive to make it as warm and comforting as when we used to grew up there. We will be making additional improvements this summer so feel free to visit again anytime!
Exactly as described, everything you would need is provided. Plenty of extra towels and linens, as well as fully equipped kitchen.
If you want to get away from the noise in the city, this is for you.
Close to Brookville, New Bethlehem and Punxsytawny.
We spent a wonderful weekend celebrating my sons 30th birthday. The property is beautiful. The home has everything you could ever want or need if you forgot something!
This place is the perfect quite get away. If you forget anything they truly have you covered. Its like walking into grandmas house back in the day. You see the memories that were made and i love how they let strangers enjoy that atmosphere. You have deer that come into the back yard to watch in the mornings and evening. Its all around a 10 out of 10 experience. We loved it so much we are booking another stay soon bc our time there just wasnt long enough.

About the host
Hosted by Ed Hetrick
I've been an engineer in Cleveland, OH for the past 30 years but I grew up in this home. School was 10 miles away. My wife moved there and started attending the same school right after I graduated. A mutual friend got us connected 10 years later. Been married 35 years! I love stopping back home to enjoy the peace and quiet, look at the stars and reminisce.
Why they chose this property
This was my childhood home where my mom and dad lived for 55 years until their passing. It is a sturdy and happy home but it needs someone to visit it now and then. It used to be a farm until the mid 60s. A barn and shanty are still available for use. Granted, the place is definitely a "Throwback". My parents were not decorators and the style is very late 70's! But it is well stocked, in great condition, clean, quiet, comfortable and ready for your stay!- PETS ARE WELCOME! With all the room to roam, they will love it!
What makes this property unique
PLEASE NOTE! Welcome "the boonies". Therefore.... - Wifi is available but it is slow and sometimes it sporadic. It is not fast enough to stream but you can do basic internet browsing and remote work. - Cellphone service is weak but usable. Most cell providers are sporadic inside the home but usually work well standing outside. All cell phones work at the top of the hill 1 mile up the road. - We are currently having our fields farmed by a local farmer. Please don't disturb his crops! Please contact us if you have any problems (so far, nobody has!) -We get water from a WATER WELL. It is tested regularly and is OK to drink but some think it tastes different. Fresh purified drinking water is available from a cooler in the kitchen. - In the summer when it is dry, you may run out of water if you don't take short showers and flush too often. - The garage is not available for use. - Smoking is permitted only outside
