Salsa at Alegranza

We enjoyed everything about our stay at Alegranza, in the Salsa condo. It was relaxing, quiet, beautifully decorated condo which welcomed us in every way. Parking was available, but conveniently located to walk to the ocean and local restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Would love to stay there again in the future. The pools and grounds were very well maintained and onsite restaurant ... mmmmm!

Fabulous Alegranza penthouse

Our family stayed at Alegranza in March of 2012, and had such a great time that we returned in March of 2013. We booked directly with Alegranza, and reserved a 3 bed/3 bath condo for our group of five. Imagine our delight when we arrived and found that we had been upgraded to a 4 bed/4 bath penthouse! The unit was extremely clean, and contained lots of basic items like dishwasher detergent and dish soap, beach and bath towels, and so on. The lower terrace had a couple of loungers and a dining table with chairs, while the upper penthouse terrace had a hot tub, several more loungers, another dining area, a couch, BBQ area, and so on. Views from both terraces were great; we were able to see whales while sitting out having our breakfast, and you can look in both directions down the coast. One of the bed/bath combinations was up on the top level, while the other 3 were on the main level of the penthouse. The unit contained a washer/dryer, dishwasher, several TV's (some with SKY TV), and had a fairly well equipped kitchen. Our only suggestion would be to have more plastic tableware available, as we were concerned that a pottery dish or glass item might be broken during use. Each unit at Alegranza is individually owned, so the unit may not be decorated exactly as the photos show, but we were not disappointed. Alegranza has three pools (the middle one is heated, while the other two are cool; great for a refreshing dip on those really hot days), two hot tubs, a small gym, two fire pits (great for family marshmallow roasts if you are travelling with kids), a small cafe type restaurant, a restaurant for fine dining, and more. Certainly all of the amenities you would need for a relaxing vacation, and although we saw lots of cars in the parking lot, the pools were never crowded, and you were never without a lounger. If you want to swim at the beach, we would recommend travelling to a beach like Chileno, for which you would need to have a car, or take the bus or a taxi. I believe the beach down the hill in front of Alegranza is not safe for swimming. The concierge service (Lucy and other staff) are absolutely amazing, and will print out directions for you, recommend restaurants, make reservations, book tours, and so on. They always greeted me with a smile and my name, making me feel welcome. Javier and his staff are certainly running a quality establishment, and we hope to be able to return again in 2014!

Great view, comfortable stay

I had a great time with my family who visited us past feb and stayed here, Alegranza has a stunning view of the San Jose del Cabo bay, their restaurant serves great food, great tuna hamburgers BTW, downtown is 5 minutes away driving and about 10 walking. There are two super stores near for any groceries. Great vacation rental option in Cabo! A+++

This really is a 4.5 star review being 5 star is the best of the best, which Alegranza comes very close to. THIS PENTHOUSE IS HUGE! Staff was great, we had everything from a real christmas tree to uncanny service whenever we asked. The property is very clean and SAFE. 24 hr guards that are super friendly. The restaurant is very good and very quaint. This particular penthouse is amazing. So amazing that my girlfriend and I barely left. Views are incredible on this corner unit. Wake up and have breakfast on the wrap around terrace after sliding open your pocket doors, making the living room and terrace fell like one. After that, head up the spiral staircase to your OWN private roof deck that is amazing!! its hug, its nice, the views just got better. The roof deck has a BBQ area, lounge chairs for tanning, a lounge area with built in couches and coffee table, outdoor shower, JACUZZI, and a sit down table to eat. The walk to town and the beach is a short one but feels longer because Alegranza is perched on a hilltop which gives it such great views and seclusion. The bedrooms are large with huge bathrooms that have built in closets and drawers. 2nd bedroom has its own small balcony and the main bedroom has sliding pocket doors to one corner or the large outdoor terrace. I cant say enough about how big the penthouse was. The bedrooms are on opposite sides so thats nice if your are traveling with kids or another couple. Did i forget to mention that there is a washer and dryer in the pantry in the penthouse, which is a huge plus. You definitely feel the luxury without the outrageous price tag. For those people that are a little scared or worried about Cabo, which is absurd by the way, there is an American Hospital within walking distance of Alegranza in a cozy little plaza that has a great supermarket, movie theater, blockbuster, burger king, and sushi restaurant. - the only thing i can think about that was a negative was the internet service in this particular unit was not good unless on the one end of the terrace. this was great for me, but not for my business back home. I would recommend this penthouse to anyone looking to travel Los Cabos. I am sure any unit is great on Alegranza and would recommend you to come and experience it for yourself, BUT this penthouse is the BEST.
