About this property
Stylish annexe at country house in South West France - Madiran, Marciac and Pau
In the rural Louet valley in the lovely Madiran region of deep South West France, our one-bedroom annexe offers visitors a dose of nature and rural style. The cosy space at our 18th century Maison de Maître is ideal for guests seeking a modern getaway surrounded by nature.
With one bedroom (with en suite bathroom) it is perfect for a couple. There is also a living room with a sofa bed for additional space (we can accommodate one additional guest on request and agreement prior to booking).
What we have:
Kitchenette with fridge and oven.
One bedroom
En suite wet room/shower.
Outside furniture.
Bike rack and cycle storage.
Secure gated parking.
The location offers the French countryside at its best with beautiful ancient oak trees and meadows.
Although we are in a rural area, we have good connectivity by car (you need one). This is an ideal base for day trips to the valleys of the central Pyrenees, Lourdes, Pic du Midi, and Pau. We are ideal for Marciac jazz (the Marciac jazz festival and the permanent concert hall, L'Astrada) and the Madiran vineyards. Local services are 10 minutes away in Lembeye. Several local and vibrant markets are within a short driving distance. Visitors can sample local cuisine at a range of country restaurants and bars.
We are accessed by a back lane which is part of the St Jacques de Compostella walking route (via Arles, stage Maubourget to Anoye) and we are on a network of footpaths (reached behind the house) which are great for walking and exploring the valleys that surround us in the Béarn (Pyrénées Atlantiques – 64) and the Bigorre (Hautes Pyrénées – 65).
Now for some more serious stuff...please kindly note the following:
Subject to rental agreement.
In order to maintain the security of our home there are security cameras installed in common areas at the property like the driveway and courtyard.
The upstairs ceiling is sloping.
If damages are incurred during your stay, you will be billed for the replacement and/or rectification works.
Please note that there are furry friends (cats and dogs) about at the property. If you are allergic to animals, then this might not be the property for you.
We do not currently have WIFI.
We are widely travelled international hosts who speak English and French. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
