About the host
Hosted by Gabriela Alexandre

Hi, I’m Gabriela. I live in Castelnaudary, in a villa surrounded by trees, lavender, and the calm rhythm of southern France. Years ago, I fell in love with this place — its stillness, its authenticity — and slowly transformed part of my home into a peaceful retreat for travelers: Le Havre d’Athéna.
My journey has been anything but linear. I started out as a police officer, then moved into leadership roles as a manager, pursued a Master’s in Marketing & Management, and earned a PhD in International Law. Along the way, I became a certified polygraph examiner and a therapist in introspective hypnosis — work that’s allowed me to meet people at their most vulnerable, and connect with deep honesty and compassion.
I’ve worn many hats, but hosting brings me a quiet joy that nothing else quite matches. I love creating spaces where people can rest, reconnect, or simply enjoy a beautiful evening under the stars.
What makes me happiest? Seeing guests arrive a little tense and leave with a soft smile. Knowing they found comfort, silence, laughter — even for just a few days.
Le Havre d’Athéna isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a small story I invite you to be part of — one of peace, presence, and a slower, more human rhythm of life.
Why they chose this property
I didn’t just choose this neighborhood — it chose me. Castelnaudary has a gentle rhythm that slows you down in the best way. I love the quiet mornings, the scent of herbs in the garden, the birdsong that replaces alarms.
What truly drew me in was the space — this property has the largest garden in the area, with over 2,500 square meters of grass, trees, and greenery. It felt like a little corner of countryside hidden inside a peaceful town. The calm atmosphere, the friendly neighbors, and the gentle light in the afternoons… all of it made me feel at home.
We’re close enough to walk into town — for fresh bread, a coffee on a terrace, or a stroll along the Canal du Midi — but far enough to still hear the wind in the trees and see the stars at night.
What I enjoy most is how life here feels… real. People still say bonjour on the street. Neighbors wave. The air smells like earth and sun. It’s peaceful, grounding, and just a little bit magical.

What makes this property unique
Le Havre d’Athéna isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s a space created with intention, care, and soul.
What makes it truly stand out is the feeling it gives. Guests often tell me that as soon as they enter the garden, something shifts — it’s calmer, softer, slower. With 2,500 m² of greenery, it's the largest private garden in the neighborhood, offering both space and serenity.
The apartment itself combines comfort and warmth: two cozy bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a peaceful living room, and an infrared sauna for moments of relaxation. Outside, guests can enjoy ping-pong, archery, badminton, or just a glass of wine under the trees.
What makes it unique is not luxury in the traditional sense — it’s the atmosphere. The silence. The care in the details. The space to breathe. It’s a place that invites you to let go and feel at peace — even if just for a while.
