At the Park Entrance

The description of this property stated yiu could walk to the State Park and they were not kidding. in Just a few minutes you coukld be there. Its convenint to the park and not far from a small town either. House was fully appointed with bedding, towels and in an nice quiet space. We felt a kittle decedent with all of that space and just the two of us. It woukd be lovely for a family, plenty large eniugh with multiploe spaces for hanging out, two bathrooms, beds galore and even had a deck and firepit. We would stay there again.

Visiting family

We were visiting family from out of state and wanted a place with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. This was very close to our family and met our needs. Everything you needed was provided. It is not a remodeled cabin (like HGTV), but what I would call a "lake getaway" for a family to gather together, eat, and relax.

Great place with a lot of room.

Location was awesome right across from Shakamak state park. Not a lot around it in terms of grocery stores. Family and I had a great time.

Good place to get away.

Pleasant stay

It was good. The location was great. It was a comfortable and nice place to stay. Better trash cans needed with wheels on it as was stated. Oven needs to be operational but the alternative oven that was provided worked well.

Wonderful weekend getaway

My friends and I were looking to get out of the city and into nature. We found this property and it was excellent! Although owner lives next door it felt private, there is a fire pit, a great deck, and plenty of beds for all of us. Would definitely stay here again.

Charming house in a beautiful place

To start with, the location is fantastic. It is homey and there's lots of nature. All in all, it was a very good It's a really good value, and a family or group can have a very relaxing vacation there. A few improvements, however, would greatly enhance the experience. First, the house is a bit tired. Several of the beds had mattresses that were old and uncomfortable. Many of the fixtures were old and didn't work as expected. Second, there are some steps in unusual places which can cause people to trip. The steps inside could be marked better, and outside should probably be repaired. The entire entry deck is wobbly and the first stair is far too high for comfort. Finally, the owner makes it a point to greet guests. Not every guest is going to feel the same way about owners showing up during a family vacation. This visit should probably have been worked out in advance.

Perfect for our stay

This house met our needs perfectly. Our family (3 households) came in from out-of-state for a family reunion and there was plenty of space for us to sleep. The multiple sitting areas allowed for more than one group conversation. Will definitely use again next year!

Great house for a few guys on a hunting trip!

This house suited our needs for our hunting trip. We had plenty of room to sleep, cook and spread our gear out. Overall, this house worked great for a hunting trip where we not too concerned about cleanliness or perfection! Pros - Good location, spacious, Cable TV, linens provided, full kitchen, washer/dryer. Cons - Grill did not have propane, shower pressure was very low in one bathroom, wooden flooring was loose (one of our guys cut his foot open).

Rustic Getaway

This property fit our needs of seven women on a bunco getaway weekend. Some of the finishes are a bit lacking, but the pictures represent the property well. Some of my friends thought we would be on the lake, but I knew that the lake was in the state park across the highway. And the park is beautiful. The property was clean, and had plenty of towels. The step to the deck is a bit steep for anyone with mobility issues, the front door is better. I was a bit surprised to have regular TV reception. There are some decent places to eat within 10 - 12 miles. We enjoyed ourselves , and felt this was a good value for the money.
