If coming from the town of Carey, it’s about 14 miles on a dirt road and limited to no cell service. The gps coordinates stop short so keep going until you see houses on the left. It’s the 3rd house. Nice and quiet, clean and watching the beef cows grazing is quite relaxing.

This cabin was built in the late 1800s from hand-hewn logs and then moved (five miles down the road) from the mining town of Muldoon, Idaho to its current location in 1911 when the mine shut down. There is no cellular or wifi coverage, so make sure you communicate with the host early so they have plenty of time to see your message. They are super accommodating. Some folks mentioned they had issues finding the cabin. We did not. Just do all of your mapping and planning well before you start your trip. Apple Maps took us right to it. The cabin is literally right off of the main road, and clearly has the address on the porch, so you can't miss it. It is out in the middle of nowhere, so if seclusion is your jam, this is the right place. There are plenty of books in the cabin, as well as a mild assortment of good movies (DVDs and VHS). The tranquility, views, setting were all amazing. The house is cozy and conveniently furnished. Come prepared to unplug, or bring your portable Starlink if you must. We will definitely stay here again.
