Thank you for taking the time to provide valuable feedback! We apologize that you had an unpleasant experience with the water quality. We were unaware that that could be considered so problematic as our family has been using and bathing in the water for over twenty years. It is completely safe to drink, but has a slight iron taste, as hard water often does. Yours is the first complaint regarding the water quality we have received from a guest in the five years we have been renting our home. Certain regions, especially mountain regions, experience water with high concentrations of minerals, particularly iron. It actually only leaves a yellow tinge in areas, such as the dishwasher, that are in continual contact with the water. It certainly doesn’t stain skin or hair. We have chosen not to filter the water up to this point because the type of iron in the valley would require chlorination prior to filtration. For health reasons we choose not to drink chlorinated water at our primary home, so even if we installed that filtration system we would bring drinking water. It has not made sense for us to invest the considerable expense for a water system given the minor impact it has had on us or our previous visitors. We now provide additional drinking water at the house. We have purchased several 5-gallon bottles to be left filled at the house to ensure that our guests have plenty of water for their stay. Should our future guests desire more water, or any other personal provisions, it is a short drive into town to a terrific Lowe’s grocery store. The screen door is actually a new replacement door, which broke within a month of purchase. Sliding screen doors are always so problematic! We are looking for a more durable replacement door. It will be repaired, one way or the other, shortly! One of the stove burners does require a match to light, otherwise it functions perfectly. We are happy you found the scenery and wildlife enjoyable! And, again are sorry that certain items of the house didn’t meet your expectations.
