Our stay at the Urban Cottage was simply outstanding. The home is inviting, cozy and equipped with everything we needed. The property and yard are very attractive and in fact, was awarded a prize for the best Christmas decorations in the entire neighbourhood. The central location was walking distance to parks, playgrounds, restaurants and shopping. Our hosts were very friendly, responsive and accommodating. We look forward to staying at the Cottage again.
Beautiful property, nice location within walking distance of all amenities.

Disliked: Listing accuracy
First of all I have never been to a VRBO property where you are not greeted by the host and in addition no welcome pack in the kitchen for basics. After travelling for 20 hours we had to find a shop to get bread, butter and milk. The house was tired inside and quite dusty. At the time of booking, the house had listed DVD player and DVDs but no. Every VRBO property we have stayed in had Netflix available but here required a subscription. The listing stated that there was air conditioning. One day it was 26 degrees and the host advised that they install a mobile a/c unit in the kitchen in the height of summer only. The hair dryer only had heat on the lowest speed setting making it impossible for drying and styling hair so on day 2 , I spent 85 Canadian dollars on a usable hair dryer. The listing also doesn’t state that the hosts are running a business from the basement (accessed externally) and the garage. On weekdays there is constant banging of doors, power tools and loud conversations. This was heard throughout the property and unbearable in bedroom 2. The only positive is the location for access to downtown. Based on the experience at this property, we checked out 3 days before the checkout date and paid for a hotel. We advised the host of our experience and problems on the Tuesday but nothing was put right and we didn’t receive any compensation. I would not recommend this property for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday, a well appointed property, and a warm welcome.

As you can see from all our other reviews that this property clearly is not a fit for you unfortunately. I offered to install the AC for you as it was scheduled for installation next week, not mid summer as you indicate. May is typically not hot and AC is never needed. I offered to solve all your other issues but you did not reply to my messages. This property is self check in, which all our previous guests appreciate. I am sorry your expectations were not met and we were not given the opportunity to make your stay more to your liking.
Excellent location and great home. It was a perfect place for our family to stay while visiting our daughter who attends UofC. Would stay there again!!
The cottage was great! I was in Calgary for a convention and the location just two blocks from the train made getting around very easy. The neighborhood was extra quiet and pleasant. The cottage was comfortable- especially the bed. It was very well equipped even though I never used anything but the Keurig machine. If I ever find myself back in Calgary I definitely would rebook.
This house is so cute and nicely decorated. It really is stocked to have everything you'd need. The location is great and I would stay here again if I return to Calgary.
Great location for us to meet up with family and friends living in SW and NW. Good place for our older Dog who needs a little more TLC than a kennel can give. Cottage is beautiful and we were happy to stay there!

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to having you again, anytime!
This cottage was absolutely perfect. So well appointed inside and the front porch and garden were wonderful to sit, relax and meet all the neighbourhood dogs. The location was ideal as so much was in walking distance and the neighbourhood is lovely. Great hists aswell.
Comfortable, clean and cozy. Felt right at home when we arrived, and the location is safe, quiet, and central to some great spots to visit when staying in Calgary. Will book again the next time I travel to town.
This unit is amazing! Charming, cozy, clean and the owner has thought of everything to make it comfortable & feel like home! Friendly Sunnyside neighbourhood walking distance to Kensington restaurants & the Peace Bridge. Will stay again & recommend to friends & family!

Perfect in every way!
This lovely cottage was perfect for our stay to visit our son who lives in the neighbourhood.
Very well appointed and located.
We had everything we needed and more.
The house and location were perfect. Comfortably furnished with great linens and bed. Lovely outdoor porch and so handy for the train which arrives every few minutes to go downtown and to the Stampede. Fantastic hosts and an awesome neighbourhood. Can’t believe how lucky we were finding Tim and Cathy’s place, it made our trip very special.
