Welcome to Daisy Bay Lodge — Your Private Lake Vermilion Retreat

Welcome to Daisy Bay Lodge, a beautiful lakefront retreat nestled on the prestigious Daisy Bay shoreline of Lake Vermilion in Northern Minnesota. This newer custom lake home was designed for guests seeking the perfect combination of relaxation, adventure, comfort, and connection. Whether you are planning a summer boating vacation, a world-class fishing trip, a winter snowmobile adventure, a family gathering, or a peaceful wellness getaway, Daisy Bay Lodge offers an unforgettable experience in every season.

We chose this property because of the feeling it creates—the peacefulness of Lake Vermilion, the towering pines, breathtaking sunsets, and the ability to truly slow down and reconnect with nature. Our goal was to create a retreat where families and friends could gather, relax, and make memories together. From morning coffee overlooking the lake, afternoons on the water, evenings around the fire, and quiet nights under a sky full of stars, this is a place designed to help you escape the pace of everyday life.

Lake Vermilion is one of Minnesota’s most treasured destinations, known for its crystal-clear waters, rugged pine-covered shoreline, hundreds of islands, and incredible outdoor recreation. The lake is famous for world-class fishing, including walleye, muskie, bass, northern pike, crappie, and perch. Guests can enjoy boating, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, wildlife viewing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and the possibility of witnessing the Northern Lights dancing across the night sky.

Daisy Bay Lodge offers 150 feet of private shoreline and comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests. The property features two private docks, multiple outdoor gathering areas, a lakeside fire pit with Adirondack chairs, cozy gas fireplaces, a private sauna, hot tub, fitness room, and thoughtfully designed spaces for guests of all ages.

What truly sets Daisy Bay Lodge apart is the rare combination of peaceful lakefront privacy and convenient access to local attractions. Guests are within walking distance of The Vermilion Club Restaurant (“The VC”), The Tavern in the Bay Restaurant, and the brand-new pickleball courts at Greenwood Township Park & Recreation, which also includes a children’s playground, basketball court, and tennis courts. Pier 77 Mini Golf is only a 4-minute drive away (don’t miss their famous soft-serve ice cream!), and Fortune Bay Casino is just 9 minutes away. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the easy access to Minnesota’s incredible ATV, hiking, and snowmobile trail systems.

The home features three comfortable bedrooms. The primary suite includes a king-size bed, dresser, bedside storage, ceiling fan, and oscillating fan. The second and third bedrooms are designed for families and groups, each offering a queen bed, two bunk beds, closet organizing systems, vanity areas with makeup lighting, blackout shades, fans, and extra blankets and hangers.

The home includes two full bathrooms and one main-level half bathroom. Bathrooms are stocked with towels, beach towels, hair dryers, hand mirrors, makeup towels, wet wipes, mouthwash, hand soap, floor mats, and non-slip mats. Please note there are no bathtubs, but a toddler portable tub is available upon request.

Guests enjoy two spacious living areas. The main-level great room features a leather sectional, swivel recliners, Smart TV, fireplace, and beautiful lake views. The lower-level family lounge includes a large sectional, Smart TV, full kitchen, and a dedicated game area. The home also offers multiple dining spaces, high-speed WiFi, streaming services, cozy blankets, and a washer and dryer for your convenience.

The outdoor experience is what makes Lake Vermilion unforgettable. Enjoy two private docks for boating, fishing, swimming, and relaxing by the water. Spend evenings around the fire pit with unlimited firewood and six Adirondack chairs, gather on the deck with a gas fire pit, or relax on the lower brick patio overlooking the lake. Additional outdoor seating includes lounge chairs, AntiGravity chairs, and a two-person rocker. The property also includes unlimited parking with space for recreational vehicles, a fish cleaning station, and direct lake access.

For those seeking wellness and relaxation, Daisy Bay Lodge offers a private sauna with eucalyptus aromatherapy, a covered five-person hot tub, a professional massage table with hot stone therapy, a two-person hammock, and a dedicated fitness room. Guests can enjoy four kayaks, two paddleboards, lake floats, inflatables, and life jackets available for men, women, and children. Life preservers with attached ropes are located at both docks. For safety, children under age 10 should always wear a life jacket when outside near the water. All swimming and water activities are at your own risk.

Entertainment is available throughout the property. The basement game area includes ping-pong, poker tabletop with casino chips, board games, strategy games, card games, party games, puzzles, bingo, Jenga, beer pong, and karaoke. Outdoor activities include cornhole, badminton, volleyball, spikeball, bocce ball, pickleball paddles, yard games, and glow sticks for evening fun. Children’s outdoor toys include items such as jump ropes, hula hoops, and floats, with more family activities added over time.

The fully stocked kitchen is designed for memorable meals and large groups, featuring two refrigerators, two freezers, two microwaves, two electric cooktops, three ovens, dishwasher, extensive cookware, bakeware, serving pieces, dinnerware, glassware, and utensils. Guests will also enjoy a beverage station with two Keurigs, coffee supplies, tea, hot cocoa, and pantry basics including spices, flour, sugars, butter, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.

Safety and convenience are priorities at Daisy Bay Lodge. The home includes smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, fire blanket, LifeVac, flashlights, sewing kit, and basic tools.

Lake Vermilion is often called “The Lake of the Sunset Glow,” and it is easy to understand why. With more than 40,000 acres of water, over 365 islands, and 1,200 miles of shoreline, the lake offers endless opportunities to explore secluded coves, sandy beaches, and breathtaking scenery. Located near the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, the region offers a unique blend of wilderness adventure and modern comfort.

Nearby attractions include Giants Ridge Ski Resort, approximately a 35-minute drive away, offering downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, snow tubing, and year-round outdoor recreation. The charming town of Ely is also nearby, featuring the International Wolf Center, North American Bear Center, local shops, restaurants, and outdoor outfitters.

Our goal is simple: we want Daisy Bay Lodge to feel like your own private retreat. We take pride in creating a clean, comfortable, and memorable experience for every guest. Come relax, explore, reconnect, and experience the magic of Lake Vermilion.

The home was very beautifully decorated and comfortable. It was equipped with anything and everything that one could imagine to make your stay pleasant. We had many options of games both inside and outside to occupy our minds. The beach was so delightful and provided us with many hours of sand castle building with the grandchildren. Coffee in the morning on the upper deck overlooking the lake was glorious. The bedrooms, however with the doors closed in the evening, got very warm. There were fans available to help circulate air around but still was too warm for sleeping. The owner was very friendly and readily available to answer any questions. It was the most enjoyable stay. The fish shut down that week, so that part was not enjoyable for the fisherman in our family. The guide we hired was awesome and he as well was baffled because a week prior they were catching them right and left. Mayfly hatching may have been the culprit.I would highlyrecommend this place and we would rent it again. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable vacation.

Hello!

Wanderlust runs in our veins. Growing-up in Kansas, I dreamed of adventure...lying in the backyard, staring up and waving to the planes and imagining what the rest of the world looked like outside of my 250-person hometown. That curiosity and desire to explore shaped my life’s journey and eventually took me to Chicago, London, Austin, back to Kansas City -- and now -- splitting time between beautiful Naples, Florida, and the peaceful wilderness of Northern Minnesota. Each place has added a new chapter, a new perspective and a deeper appreciation for the people, cultures, landscapes and experiences that make every destination unique.

I’m a 25+ year real estate veteran, investor, home renovator and marketing enthusiast who discovered a passion for short-term rentals. What started as an investment opportunity quickly became something much more meaningful...creating welcoming spaces where families and friends can gather, relax and reconnect. I especially love transforming our homes into unique retreats by adding the special touches that make guests feel right at home.

Todd, a Minnesota-born commercial pilot with 30+ years of experience, joined me on this adventure, and together we travel, invest and design spaces our guests love. His love for aviation, exploration and the outdoors perfectly complements my passion for design, hospitality and creating memorable experiences.

Whether we are discovering a new destination, renovating a property or finding the perfect detail to enhance a guest’s stay, we approach each project with excitement and purpose. And, we can’t wait to welcome you, share our home with you and help you create unforgettable memories!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth & Todd

Why they chose this property

We didn’t choose this property on Daisy Bay simply because it was beautiful—we chose it because of how it made us feel. From the first time we stepped onto the property, we knew there was something truly special here. The peacefulness of Lake Vermilion, the towering pines, the incredible sunsets and the feeling of being surrounded by nature created the kind of escape we had always dreamed of finding and sharing with others.

After years of working hard, traveling the world, and experiencing many different places, we knew we wanted to find a property that felt like a true retreat—somewhere relaxation could be the priority. We envisioned a place where we could eventually spend more time in retirement, while also creating a destination that was close enough for our children and family to easily visit from Minneapolis and Kansas.

Daisy Bay captured everything we love about Northern Minnesota. It offers the perfect balance of privacy, natural beauty, and adventure, with endless opportunities for boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, snowmobiling, ice fishing and experiencing the beauty of Lake Vermilion in every season. At the same time, it provides the peaceful escape we all need from the pace and demands of everyday life.

One of the most magical parts of this property is the opportunity to experience the natural wonders that make this area so special—from breathtaking sunsets reflecting across the water to the possibility of watching the Northern Lights dance across the night sky.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be the caretakers of this special place. Our hope is that every guest who visits feels the same sense of peace, connection, and appreciation for nature that we felt the very first time we arrived. We are excited to share this home with those who value adventure, relaxation, family time, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

What makes this property unique

Our Daisy Bay Lodge is a newer property, built just 5 years ago. What truly makes this home stand out isn’t just the beautiful amenities we have created...it’s the rare combination of comfort, location and accessibility on Lake Vermilion.

While many lake properties offer beautiful views, our guests enjoy being immersed in the true Lake Vermilion experience while still having convenient access to nearby attractions. We are within walking distance of the Vermilion Club restaurant, The Tavern in the Bay restaurant and the brand-new pickleball courts at Greenwood Township Park & Recreation, which also features a children’s playground, basketball court and tennis courts.

Our location provides the perfect balance of peaceful lakefront relaxation and easy access to local adventures. Guests are just a short drive from mini golf (4 minutes), Fortune Bay Casino (9 minutes), some of Minnesota’s best-maintained ATV, hiking, and snowmobile trail systems and within one hour of over 10 golf courses.

Beyond the location, we designed Daisy Bay Lodge to be a place where everyone feels welcome. The home offers spacious gathering areas, thoughtful amenities, and recreational options for all ages...whether your perfect day includes boating, fishing, kayaking, relaxing by the water, playing games with family or gathering around the fire as the sun sets over Lake Vermilion.

We believe the best vacations are about more than where you sleep...they’re about the memories created while you’re there. Daisy Bay Lodge was designed to give families and friends the opportunity to reconnect, explore, relax, and experience everything that makes Northern Minnesota so special.
