Hello, thank you for your Review. We checked the dehumidifier under the house and discovered that it had recently became unplugged. Needless to say, it's now back up-and-running! We think that will help alot, and we appreciate the mention!

Lee is a responsive and accommodating host. The grounds of the large property are lovely, and the location for hking (skiing - in season) and access to the beauty of Canaan Valley is excellent. Seasonal decorations throughout the house and grounds were festive and welcoming. The owners clearly are making nice improvements to the home, including the recently built fire pit and pickleball court. We enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit, but rainy weather and a short stay prevented us from playing pickleball. The house would benefit if sofas, mattresses, and linens could be updated. The kitchen is well stocked with many small appliances and enough plates and utensils so our large group could have meals together. We enjoyed our time!

Great location. Host was very communicative and very accommodating for our family’s needs. House design was quirky, but very well stocked for a multi-family stay. Appreciated the hot tub and fun kid activities.

We had a wonderful time at the Golden Eagle. There were many spaces to gather between the main house, the attached carriage house, the large yard, and the large deck on the first and second story. The surrounding area was also beautiful. A few notes about the place: the were manual A/C units which works well, no fire pit, each of us had good cell service, the water is potable, the nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away in Davis. Some of the many nearby activities: Blackwater falls (20 mins.), Seneca Rocks (40 mins.), Canaan Valley Resort (8 mins.). Canaan Valley has many summer and winter activities that are good for large groups.

Nice property . The rooms were clearly described , fully equipped with all appliances . And the host communication was quick and responsive . Check-in checkout were smooth. drawback was that the bathing essentials like shampoo and body wash were missing .

House was great! Very very close to the lodge, so walking over there in ski-boots wasn’t a problem.We had one concern about the hot tub and the owner was immediately responsive.We’ll try and book this in the future!

We had an AMAZING stay at the Golden Eagle! Twelve 16-year-olds and two adults fit comfortably, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. The house is incredibly cozy and full of charm -you can truly feel all the wonderful memories that have been made here over the years. The location is unbeatable: an easy three-minute walk. On some days, we were even able to ski straight from the mountain right back to the house, which was such a treat!One of our favorite (and funniest) details was that every remote had artificial flowers rubber-banded to it so we never lost a single one and laughed about it all weekend. Clearly thoughtful hosts who understand groups! The layout works beautifully for kids/adults, with spaces for everyone to hang out and unwind. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our ski trip and will absolutely be back to the Golden Eagle!

This house was perfect for our long weekend with 3 families. The layout of the space is a little weird and took some time to figure out rooming configuration. But once we figured it out it was nice. It would be helpful to have a single blow up bed or 2 just to give more flexibility. For instance, the big loft room was a lot of space, but useful only for 2 people. It would have been nice to put one small kid in that room with his parents.However, the location was great to the slopes, especially if you need to rent gear. We stayed walk in/walk out on the slopes in the past and that wasn't helpful for folks who had to pickup rental gear Nice house, well equipped kitchen, great hot tub!

Thank you for your review Amy, we appreciate it! The Primary Suite IS quite large with it's Private Bathroom, Office Space and third story Tower Room overlooking the Property and ski slopes. Your idea of also including a blow-up bed for small children in there is a good one, and I think we will do that. We are always striving to make our Guest's stay as nice as possible!
