THE BOUTIQUE VILLA

Facing due north over the aquamarine tidal waters of Fresh Creek’s estuary, the exclusive two-level villa features four bedrooms and three bathrooms. This extraordinary island home is distinguished by its custom architecture, handmade cabinetry, collection of Bahamian fine art and local crafts, captivating waterfront views, and thoughtfully selected comforts.

At the heart of the villa is the “Bahama Room,” an inviting great room featuring a 85 inch flat-screen Smart TV with satellite service. It flows into a professionally equipped kitchen with island seating, a cocktail bar with unlimited filtered drinking water, and a delightful dining area centered around a handcrafted Brazilian hardwood table.

Vaulted ceilings, striking fir beams, knotty cypress planking, recessed lighting, overhead Hunter fans, comfortable lounge chairs, and rattan sofas create an impressive yet relaxed gathering space. French doors fill the room with natural light and open onto a wraparound veranda, where Adirondack chairs, gentle island breezes, and swaying bamboo invite guests to slow down and unwind.

Throughout the villa, board-and-batten walls, shiplap chair rails, cedar trim, pocket doors, and cheerful island-inspired colors reflect the character and spirit of The Bahamas. Big Bamboo was thoughtfully designed to provide modern comfort within a secluded Out Island setting.

MODERN ISLAND COMFORTS

The villa is equipped with a large-capacity front-loading washer and dryer, a commercial ice machine capable of producing up to 450 pounds of ice daily, unlimited hot water, and a dual-system water treatment setup incorporating soft well water and reverse-osmosis filtration. A diesel-powered backup generator provides additional security during island power interruptions.

Additional conveniences include zoned air-conditioning and high-speed internet coverage throughout the two-acre estate.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS

Sleeping accommodations are arranged across two spacious levels and include four individually themed bedrooms. Each bedroom offers a Smart TV, soundbar, and high-speed internet access.

The “Pilot’s Lounge” serves as Big Bamboo’s music, game, DVD, and book library and “work” station - if you must work.

The “Dolphin Room,” located on the upper level, is the primary suite. It features a queen-size sleigh bed and an en-suite private bathroom with double granite sinks, a multi-head rain shower, and a heated whirlpool tub.

On the opposite side of the villa, the “Tuna Room” offers a queen-size canopy bed and peaceful views of the Fresh Creek waterfront through lush bamboo and palm trees.

Next door, the “Sailfish Room” features a cottage-style queen bed overlooking the tropical fruit grove and gardens. The Tuna and Sailfish rooms share a spacious, spa-inspired bathroom with a large multi-head rain shower and granite vanity. All rooms include cedar-lined closets, colorful island linens, and private glass doors opening onto exterior verandas.

“Conch Crawl,” the only bedroom on the lower level, is accessed by a spiral staircase and features two twin beds and a private bathroom with a cabana-style shower. Ground-floor doors lead directly to the south gardens, the north waterfront, and the fully screened “Cigar Lounge,” which includes a Smart TV and sound bar.

THE CHUBBY MERMAID AND WATERFALL POOL

A catwalk connects the villa to the “Chubby Mermaid,” a bamboo-shaded rooftop lounge ideal for private sunbathing during the day and unforgettable stargazing at night.

From the Chubby Mermaid, stairs lead toward a creekside freshwater pool with a waterfall feature, surrounded by tropical palms and tranquil island scenery.

TROPICAL FRUIT GROVES

Guests are invited to wander through Big Bamboo’s fruit groves, where seasonal offerings may include sapodillas, carambolas, genips, cherries, mangoes, longans, jujubes, lemons, breadfruit, custard apples, figs, guavas, avocados, hog plums, and more. Big Bamboo’s resident chickens may also provide fresh brown eggs during your stay.

FRESH CREEK WATERFRONT

Fresh Creek’s estuary flows inland from the ocean, creating a beautiful, pristine tidal waterway that becomes the centerpiece of the Big Bamboo experience.

The estate’s 60-foot T-dock offers endless opportunities for waterfront recreation, as well as a covered retreat for relaxation. Dedicated watersports docks provide convenient access for paddleboarding, kayaking, floating, swimming, and creek snorkeling.

THE TIKI BEACH BAR & KITCHEN

Nestled beside a soft-sand beach beneath swaying coconut palms, the “Tiki Beach Bar & Kitchen” offers a shaded place to gather, dine, and relax near the water.

An in-water Tiki Hut provides a truly memorable way to experience Fresh Creek and observe the abundant marine life—including the resident stingrays and pufferfish that frequently visit the waterfront.

UNFORGETTABLE SUNSETS
