I am so glad we selected this home. It was clean, well stocked, family friendly, and close to the lake. We were able to take a short drive to Granite Point to spend the day on the water. The home slept a large group of people comfortably and worked great for our purposes. We were gathered to do a celebration of life for our mom and this was perfect. I highly recommend this home and host.

Overall it was a good experience. The house could use a bit of upkeep. The toilet in the last bathroom needs new seat, the hand soaps need replaced, they need more hand towels and nicer bath towels, the oven and fridge need a good cleaning , the dishwasher needs replaced and there were no smoke detectors. They need to charge a larger cleaning fee and pay a service to clean after each guest. There were all kinds of food left in the fridge and a cleaning sponge was left in the oven and almost started a fire when we preheated the oven the first night. That’s how we knew there weren’t any smoke detectors. T hey could charge more money for the house if the did a few upgrades and hired professional cleaners.

Leslie, Thank you for letting us know that the dishwasher needs upgraded, we were not aware of it malfunctioning. I apologize for the sponge, that baffles me but I will remind our cleaning crew to double check. There are new smoke detectors in the home and per your suggestion I will confirm they are working. Our former guests have appreciated eggs and condiments so we have kept those stocked for everyone. I'm sorry if it made the refrigerator seem unclean. Our soap dispensers are refilled after every stay. I'm sorry they were not to your liking. Former guests have appreciated that the variety of towels made drying small children and wrapping up long hair easier. While we can not anticipate every need and desire that our guests will have we do want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome. I hope you will consider a return in the future.

It would be unfair for me to write a review. As a family, you work hard, save and plan for your trip. Unfortunately there were some fires that broke out in the area which caused us to cut our 7 night stay to 3 nights. There was some money left on the table because of that. It's hard enough for my kids to raise their family in this economy as it is, but to lose half of their stay was not easy. We never asked for any refund or anything, but when I let the host know we would be leaving early, all I got was, unfortunately we can't control situations like what happened. I just thought that was a cold response considering many people lost their homes and belongings to the fires. Bad timing for all.

Tim, I am sorry that you felt the response was cold. At the time of your message we were digging a fire break. Your message only indicated that you were leaving early. The fires effected over 70,000 people including us, our family and friends. In the days that followed we opened our home to those that had been evacuated. If you want to return and finish your visit, I will be happy to welcome you rent free.

Why they chose this property

This quiet, safe and secluded neighborhood has large yards for privacy and family friendly neighbors. The location is great for a quiet getaway or the small friendly town options of fresh brewed coffee, ice cream and nature walks. Two minutes off the main highway, it takes no time to get to the home.

What makes this property unique

The family sized bedrooms make it comfortable for vacationing with children young and old. The younger children can take naps while you relax and the teens can stay up late and not bother anyone! With this single level home, the home is accessible to all and it is very quiet.
