We loved our stay! The view was gorgeous and we were lucky with perfect weather. The cottage is ideally situated for sightseeing at many other attractions within an hour's drive.
This lovely and very spacious property was exactly as posted. It was an incredible stay, lots of room for family dinners and night time chats outside on the patio…with a propane fire! Excellent communication and service by the hosts too. We’d 100% recommend this place.
Great location and view. Lots of room and well laid out. Very comfortable beds. Just a few essentials missing such as soap for the shower, Kleenex and enough TP. Overall great place to stay.
Really can’t beat the view. Nice central location for must-see day trips. Appreciated use of bbq/fire table. Would recommend a guest book for signing and a bit more direction for check out.
We had an amazing stay here. Our whole family loved it. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped The property was clean and well laid out. We loved being up on a cliff with the amazing ocean view. We saw whales and bald eagles. The walk on Muir Creek beach was spectacular. There were dozens of seals sunning on the rocks. The location is so close to Sooke so a trip in for groceries or some time on the Route 14 patio was fast. We really appreciated the cozy blankets and the fire table on the patio and the hand pump soaps in the kitchen and bathrooms. The master bedroom is gorgeous! We will be back for sure. Thanks Stacey!
We really enjoyed our stay at Otter Point. Check-in and check-out were easy. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were very comfortable and they provided all the necessities. This home was the perfect size for hosting 2 couples.
The views of Juan de Fuca from the wall of windows in the living room and the very large balcony were amazing.
After a full day of biking The Galloping Goose Trail, The Lochside Trail, and exploring Victoria, this was the perfect place for relaxing and and watching whales in the late afternoon and evening.
We hope to return sometime.
Everything about this place is beautiful. The master bedroom is amazing, the view, the kitchen, everything you need is right there. Seperate climate controls all over the cabin, perfect firetable on the deck. Only thing that I'd warn others about is the driveway. It's pretty steep, narrow with a bend around a tree. We had a big half-ton pickup truck and made it up with relative ease. Although it's a little spooky. Everything else is beautiful.
We had a very nice stay at Stacey's house. It was very comfortable, clean and homey. Our dogs were comfortable here as well. I would highly recommend this house and location.
I was freaking out a bit on the day of arrival as I couldn't reach the host for check in information, but by the time we got to Canada I had received communication. (that's why the 4 stars on communication with property manager)
Thank you for the lovely stay.

Overall was good. That said there were dirty dishes in the cupboard, the frying pans were very poor and there were no drinking glasses at all.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location

We had 6 guests staying at this location. The property was clean upon arrival and the view was amazing. We knew that 2 adults would have to take the pull out couch which wouldn't have been an issue except the mattress on the pull out couch is ready to be retired. unfortunately, a camping mattress on the floor was more comfortable but it was only a short stay.
The bigger issue was waking up to no water on our last day preventing all of us from showing/washing/going to the bathroom and coffee on our last morning. I followed the instructions in the house binder and called the number indicated but the issue remained unresolved so we vacated the premise. I emailed Stacey through Vrbo site as well. It wasn't until she texted me that she was aware of the issue. Sadly this was after we had departure. All in all, there was a bit of miscommunication as to what to do if there were any issues. Stacey did send out someone and had it fixed but unfortunately, this was after we had departed which didn't help us by that time.
An overall mediocre experience.
Beautiful view, well equipped for the 5 of us, everything was in working order. Beds were very comfortable! On the downside, the driveway was almost too steep to walk up and down and the large pothole was not great for my vehicle. Overall was a great stay, my recommendation to the owners would be to modernize a little more, as the building itself seems a little old, but would not hesitate to stay there again!
The host was quick to reply to messages and made check in and check out very easy. Supplied us with two bottles of propane to enjoy the outdoor fire pit and BBQ. Overall, it worked out very well for our family stay. Only downsides were the sofa bed was very uncomfortable, large burner didn’t work well on the stove, and we found many of the dishes not washed very well (no dishwasher).
Just a short walk from Gordon's Beach, this property was a nice little get away. I loved waking up early to sit on the deck with my morning coffee and enjoy the view and the sounds of the ocean.
We had a lovely stay in Sooke at Stacey’s property. The house is across the road from the ocean and there is a spectacular view from the living room and deck. (The living room looks out through large sliding doors on to a deck and in the evening once there is little traffic it is a very lovely place to be! )
The house is decorated simply - the main bedroom is very large with windows on the three sides and a skylight. Very nice room. Air in places was a bit stuffy but not an issue as there were ample windows and cross draft. The kitchen is a very pleasant place to cook with lots of counter space and a big window with partial view of the ocean. The cupboards have wonky hinges as mentioned previously but not a big deal.
We would recommend it for proximity to hikes etc including Potholes Provincial park which is incredible.
This place was cozy and comfortable with a nice deck and view of the Jaun de Fuca Strait. Enjoyed Sooke Potholes, Jordan River Sandcut Beach, Sheringham Point Lighthouse, Port Renfrew Whale Watching, China Beach, Wiffin Spit, Shirley Delicious and more.
The views of the ocean is spectacular. Very good communication from the property manager, very helpful and would respond quickly back if you had questions. I would highly recommend renting there. Great location to explore the hiking trails on the island.
Clean, well-appointed house with one or two quirks
The house has spacious rooms and has been nicely renovated, except for the kitchen cabinets which have loose hinges. Bathrooms are new and spotless. The kitchen is well equipped for pots and pans. You can’t run the toaster and kettle at the same time without tripping a breaker. The place was very clean and check-in was smooth. There is an excellent tv and DVD player.
The house is on a busy road with a lot of noise from traffic. It is convenient for Sooke and the trails and beaches on the west coast.
The yard is overgrown and unkempt and not at all like the photograph on the website. It is unusable and not a suitable place for children to play.
The view from the balcony of this property is absolutely fantastic. We were warmly welcomed at check in and when I reported to the owner that we had some issues with the cleanliness of the property, she made it clear that this was not common place. She had a very professional response, which we were impressed by.
The home is spacious and is in a great location for anyone wanting to explore this area.
