Pebble Creek is nestled in the hills of Virginia in a small scenic town named Laurel Fork. The area is a hidden treasure holding breathtaking views of rolling hills, green pastures and meandering trout streams. Once you breathe the crisp mountain air and feel the cool breeze against your skin you will be hooked and drawn to its beauty- walking old dirt roads, crossing one-lane bridges, picking wildflowers along the roadside, and watching the deer as they venture into the pastures at dusk. Our five bedroom mountain haven features a large log house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. It overlooks the mountain meadows and Laurel Fork Stream. Complete with a fully equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace, televisions, Wi Fi and a washer/dryer. At the bottom of the hill sits our outdoor living area complete with kitchen and sitting area. Adjoining the shelter are two bedrooms with 2 baths. A large deck adjoins the shelter lining the edge of the stream. During the day, fish, walk or wade in the mountain stream and enjoy hikes through the woods and laurel. Visit nearby Olde Mill Golf Resort, Chatteau Morrissette, Mabry Mill, Primland, Floyd and other local sites. At night, grill a fine dinner then sit by the campfire or on the deck as spotlights illuminate the area. Experience the beauty of this area one time, and you will want to return every year. Words can not describe its magical charm. This is nature at its best! Pebble Creek is our home and a special place. Once you visit, you'll be asking to return each year.

This is our 3rd time staying at this property. We could not love it more!! We love the campy vibe with homey amenities. Cooking outside, fishing, enjoying the outdoors all day but having a hot shower and a bed at night - best of both worlds! Connie is wonderful to deal with. She has made each of our visits special!
The property was a great fit for our large family with multiple littles who wanted to spend a lot of time outside. We cooked and ate all our meals outside and had campfires every night. We loved having the stream right there! The WiFi was out, which the host notified us about, but many of us also had very spotty cell service and several had planned to spend some time working so it was a mild inconvenience.
This property is absolutely perfect! The deer, chipmunks were favorites for everyone!!
The experience with the host was flawless.
Would recommend this place for large groups and events!

Great place
Perfect mountain getaway. Great views and plenty of things to do. Between the wineries and the golf course, Olde Mill, everybody had a great stay. We all agreed we would love to own this house, can't imagine how great it looks in the Fall. Definitely will be back

Thanks so much for your kind words. Laurel Fork, VA is a hidden secret with its rolling meadows, trout streams and mountain views. We even have tourist attractions for those who wish to leave the cabin (which is sometimes difficult to draw yourself away). Thanks again for visiting, and we hope to have you back as return guests.
The location was wonderful. The highlight of our stay was the outdoor kitchen/pavilion. We made all our meals, played games, and enjoyed our family time right there by the creek.
This is a great place for those that love the rustic outdoors, and peace and quiet.
Thank you!

Thank you for your review, and we are happy your family enjoyed their stay and were able to spend quality time together. Sometimes just getting away is all you need.
Perfect location to unplug and relax! We spent 95% of our time playing in the meadows and the stream. We cooked all of our meals in the outdoor kitchen and slept next to stream with the windows open. It was a perfect location for our family!

Your family are our ideal guests. We opened our home so famines such as yours can unplug and connect. Thank you for staying at our property and hope to have you back
This was our second time at this property and it was even better than we remembered. We stayed outdoors all day - fishing, floating, cooking, listening to music, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the view! It’s a great spot for friends, couples, families, anyone really. We will most certainly be back. This is a 5 star property in EVERY aspect!
The property was beautiful!! We loved the outdoor setting with the beautiful field for playing wiffle ball with the kids, creek does fishing and playing, and the great outdoor seating and decks. Our crew spent all our days and most nights down by the creek. We cooked all meals by the creek and enjoyed the relaxed feel the cabin had to offer! We will be back!

It was our pleasure to host your family and to hear you took full advantage of all Pebble Creek has to offer. You left our home in oerfect shape, and we would love to have you back. Thank you.
Outstanding location, facility and grounds for a family reunion
The place is as advertised: great for family get togethers and a lot to do right on the property. Our grandkids played in the stream, explored the rocky slopes and walked the field. Wish we had brought more field games, but bocce and ladder golf were fine as was basketball and throwing a baseball. We ate all meals outdoors and had a fire every night for smores.

Thanks for staying with us, and glad you enjoyed your stay.
The main log house is close to the gravel road that is miles in from the road. Cows graze nearby and far away; lots of wild flowers everywhere.. A good-sized creek wanders through the property, offering many adventures. A place full of peace & nature with modern comforts.
I stayed here for an extended getaway with a few other friends and had a blast! The setup is unreal, with a stream going right through the property and the perfect place for us to set up an outdoor movie screen and just chill and watch movies. It’s in the middle of the woods, so you’ll be sure to see your share of animals and creepy crawlers, but nothing you shouldn’t expect for a place as remote and gorgeous as this. Highly recommended .

Thank you for your kind remarks. I see you found the beauty of our secret mountain haven. We would love to have you back as guests.
Our dance group was looking for a place to relax, decompress, and practice some new steps. After searching the area, we found Pebble Creek and decided to stay here.
The location was great. We were close to Floyd, to the Yoga Jam, to grocery stores while still being far enough away to enjoy some peace quiet.
The photos of the rental do not do it justice. The two bedrooms by the shelter had large windows that bring in loads of light. There was an outdoor shower in addition to the bathroom facilities described (bonus!). The outdoor kitchen had plenty of space for massive spreads and there were plenty of tables so that we could share meals. There was a covered corner spot where the outdoorsy could park some hammocks or a tent. Everyone had her own bed. It suited our needs perfectly!
Our group will most certainly reserve this spot again on our next trip to the area.

We are so glad you enjoyed the beauty of Pebble Creek. It is a magical place and your words show you found and enjoyed its peace and serenity. We would love to have you and your group return. Thank you for your kind words.
We enjoyed our weekend getaway at the Laurel Fork property. It is very private- Off the beaten path down a gravel road. The shelter and stream are very scenic and relaxing. There was an open field on the property, along the creek, where the kids and adults enjoyed outdoor games. The kids floated on tubes in the creek while a few of the elders caught a couple trout. We made fires at night by the creek. Our visit appeared to have been the first of the property in at least several months (likely due to COVID-19). The cabin and shelter rooms were pretty musty and did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned immediately prior to our arrival (spider webs, mouse droppings etc) but I will concede the property is in the woods so keeping these things at bay would be somewhat challenging if not cleaned day of or perhaps day before arrival. The cabin kitchen was adequately equipped but we did have to borrow a few things from the cabin to take down to the shelter kitchen in order to prepare the family meals- as the shelter has minimal cooking supplies due to it being an outdoor area with no enclosed storage. All in all we had a good
Time and everyone said it was a neat place which offered entertainment for all.

Yes, we are off the beaten path. Thanks for understanding the challenges of cleaning the day renters arrive. It can be almost impossible at times. Glad you had a great time.
This was not our typical summer family vacation but with all that's going on this year we decided to try something different. This is what led us to do a nice long weekend at Pebble Creek. We enjoyed our stay and the time to just relax together as a family. The pavilion was especially nice and we enjoyed having dinner there in the evenings. We used the grill at the Pavilion to cook Hot dogs, Hamburgers and Hobo packets. My husband built us a fire two evenings so that we could enjoy some S'mores. It is a little bit of a trek from the cabin to the Pavilion but there is a road that you can drive down should you need to. The cabin itself is nice and had ample room and plenty of beds for everyone (8 Adults, 3 Kids) to stay there, so we did not need to use the bedrooms at the Pavilion. We felt that the cabin could have used a better cleaning before we arrived but we did some wiping down and sweeping of our own, which helped. This may just be more of our issue and the fact that maybe we aren't the woodsy/rustic type. The bedrooms and bathrooms were pretty clean. The master bedroom (on the main floor) and loft area were great and the downstairs bedroom area was good except for a musty odor. We did encounter a few bugs, one GIANT spider and a dead mouse in the cabin but some of these are probably to be expected in this type of setting. Luckily we had brought totes with us which we tried to use to store our food and other items in so that we didn't have little critters getting into them. Unfortunately at least one bug made it home with us, in one of the totes, but thankfully we had left the tote outside while emptying it. I feel bad pointing out a few negatives because overall this was a great property, in a peaceful setting, with beautiful surroundings. One other note - if you have young ones that want to play in the river be sure to take the path through the trees that are between the pavilion and the river because that will lead you to a little "beachy" area where kids can play along the waters edge or wade in just a little. We didn't happen upon this little area until our last evening there but we had found other little areas along the river that the kids could play in. Thank you Connie for sharing your Pebble Creek property with us.

Thank you for your constructive feedback. You are right. I have learned over the years that cleaning a log house and cleaning a typical home are completely different. We do try extra hard to make sure all is clean and disinfected for our renters but due to the natural surroundings and nature itself, it is very difficult. Ideally, we like to ensure all is still clean the day our renters arrive, but this is not always feasible. Hence, there may be a few cobwebs near the fireplace, a spider, and I am terribly sorry about the dead mouse. We have secured mouse bait in hidden places and it does create an occasional dead one. Thank you for understanding. We are nature at its best with the stream right up to the deck, so we have learned to accept the good and the bad. We are not a Hylton, but we are a great place to appreciate what nature has to offer. Thanks for staying with us and again, we appreciate your feedback. We will make efforts to be sure all is clean for our guests.
Thank you again Connie for sharing your home and slice of heaven with us. This was our 4th time staying at Pebble Creek and I'm sure it wont be our last. Your place is a true treasure, my niece always ask when we are going back to the tree fort on the creek. Thanks again!
We picked this location one to get away from the city, and two it was our destination wedding location. This property by far met everything we wanted plus more. Even though we stayed in the beginning of April, and the weather was a bit colder. The cabin stayed at a perfect warm temperature. Connie the owner was so helpful and kind though my journey of planning my wedding. And let me add I'm in California and was blindly putting together my wedding. But any questions of concerns I had Connie promptly replied. We will most definitely love to stay at this property again. Thank you again Connie for everything.
We had the privilege of returning to this property for the second year in a row. It totally makes our trip. Close to the golf course we play, the shelter and outdoor kitchen are "home base" for our entire crew. This is a wonderful property and home to a lot of great memories.
The property was a beautiful location with lots of wide open fields and a stream to enjoy. We used the open kitchen by the creek to do all our cooking and enjoyed our meals. The creek sounds will lullaby you to peaceful thoughts while sitting in the rocking chairs. Communications and question with owner Connie were detailed and with quick responses. We will be back for another family visit.
Our family enjoyed the lovely outdoor area for dinners and relaxing by a beautiful stream. Had lots of fun gathering firewood among the many acres of the property. House was very clean and had everything we needed.
My group stayed here for our golf trip. We had such an amazing time and this place is truly something special. We spent all of our time at the beautiful shelter and can’t imagine a more perfect place for our group.

About the host
Hosted by Connie Styers
Dylan and I acquired Pebble Creek in 1990. Since then, we've acquired more land, remodeled, built, re-built and expanded our vision. Today, the site is what Dylan claims as his crowning achievement. He was able to preserve nature's beauty and create a warm and inviting retreat. We currently reside in Greensboro, NC but escape to Laurel Fork every chance we get. Our family of three children grows as they start families of their own adding more generations of fun and lasting memories. You will love the simplicity and beauty this area holds. Our children grew up making campfires, roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories. Your family will enjoy taking long walks, fishing in the stream, going on deer runs at dusk and visiting the local attractions just minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We decided to open our home to you, our guests, so you can create lasting memories for your family.
Why they chose this property
Pebble Creek is convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway and minutes from Mabry Mill, Chatteau Morrisette Winery and Meadows of Dan. Guaranteed to leave relaxed and refreshed. You'll want to return each year.
