About this property

The Spud on Potato Lake in Spooner, Wi

Gather your favorite people and escape to this inviting 3-bedroom lakeside cabin where the water views set the stage for sharing unforgettable moments. Lounge in the comfy living room, eat together in the dining area that seats 8, and unwind on the deck/patio. Cozy up by the fire pit and swap stories and laughter.

The Space: The cabin has a wall of windows facing the lake, with tons of natural light. Guests will love the open concept great room, with a wood burning stove, that leads out to an oversized lakeside deck. Imagine sitting in a rocking chair, drinking your morning coffee and listening to the birds. It's a perfect space for lounging, grilling, and dining. We have a gas grill, two rockers, and a large dining table with an umbrella on the deck to enjoy. Spend your days and evenings gathered with your friends and family in the screened in porch.

On the lower level there is the main bedroom with a brand new king-sized bed and another bedroom with a full over full size bunk bed. The third bedroom is in the loft that offers a brand new comfy queen and two twin size beds. The cabin is fully furnished and well stocked to meet your needs during your stay. You will love the freestanding wood stove for the cool nights.

The elevation is low to the waterfront (no big stairway to the lake), and the property's edge runs along the creek for privacy and seclusion. There are two fire pits. One near the cabin and the other down by the shore.

Potato Lake is a 224 acre, spring-fed lake. It is large enough to legally ski on. This explains the weekend jet-skiers, tubing, and activity on the lake. For the most part, Potato Lake is a quiet fishing lake, with plenty of pontoon boats and kayaks. Generally speaking, the depth is 6-12 feet with a 30' bowl that is straight out from our cabin. This is the best fishing spot! We do not have a sandy shoreline. Potato Lake fishing is excellent and includes bass, northern pike, and panfish year round.

Welcome to the Northwoods! If you love wildlife, you will be in heaven here! We have plenty of deer, bear, chipmunks, snakes, turtles, birds, rabbits, eagles, geese, trumpet swans, fish, and dragonflies.

We love the solitude the property affords, with Potato Creek as the boarder to the north. We are on a private dead end road. The cabin is nestled in the trees and although we have a cabin to the left of our property, it really feels like a private retreat.

This four season cabin is wonderful in the fall and winter too. You can enjoy ATV/snowmobile trails, beautiful foliage, hiking trails, biking, fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Looking for a play to stay during the Cranberry Festival or Birkebiner? Planning a fishing, ATV or snowmobile trip? Do you life to golf? You have found your spot!
