The host responded quickly if we had a question. And gave us updates on anything going on with the house. Best view I’ve ever had at a rental cabin by far.
Beautiful property with spectacular views! That deck really offers a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning or an evening fire. Location Is perfect with access to the Big Horn National Forest.
Despite the craziness of the nearby wild fires, we had a great stay and great experience. The cabin is beautiful, with beautiful views, and plenty of room for 2 couples, and 2 additional adults. It was a perfect mix of luxury and hunter’s resort for our group
Excellent facilities with plenty of room for our group of 10. Plenty of pots and pans, as well as a keurig and normal coffee maker. There was also basic supplies and spices. Great deck and gas fire pit.
Pictures don’t do it justice, inside or out. The view is spectacular, and the furnishings are very nice in a unique log home. We were motorcycle touring, and it’s near to one of the main entrances to the mountain roads and trails. Likely we’ll stay again.
We loved staying here! We're already planning another stay. The view was amazing, the cabin was perfect. It was comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. We attended some scheduled events in and around Sheridan, but couldn't wait to get back to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
This was an AMAZING cabin with a breath-taking view. Our kids squealed with delight as they ran around the cabin to check out the space. There are plenty of books and games to enjoy. Alexis the host was very responsive to any questions we had or help we needed. We would absolutely stay here again to enjoy the peace and quiet that Wyoming has to offer.
Beautiful Scenery, Nice Clean Cabin, Excellent place if your spending time in the Big Horns. Homeowner is very pleasant; Host is very nice to deal with.
If You're going to the Big Horn Mountains check them out.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Even though we had a few glitches with the solar electricity, Alexis was always available and on top of getting things fixed. I would definitely stsy here again. The house was beautiful and I could sit on that deck and enjoy that view forever 😍
Wonderful facility and base camp for relaxing and touring the adjacent mountains and area. Hosts were great and responded quickly when lightning damaged the generator and water well so there was minimal impact on the operation of the facility. Great views with rustic charm. We can highly recommend.to anyone looking for a great location with easy access to the Bighorn Mts., local history and most of the modern conveniences. Exceptional value.
We’ve brought our family to stay at this mountain property a number of times since 1988, and found that the current owners have created a very comfortable environment with a touching homage to their predecessors. Our family of 9 had great meals around the large dining table, a fun evening around the firepit, and enjoyed 100 mile views from the spacious deck. Love the silence-broken only be the wind, the birds, and occasional coyotes! It’s on the border of the Bighorn NF where we fly-fished, rode horses, and hiked.
We’ll be back!

Before you rent this house verify that the storage batteries have been replaced and are working properly. We had no power the last day we were there even though the generator was running constantly. Also verify that the logs have been resealed to prevent rain seeping through the walls in places. On the positive side, the deck and views are wonderful. The owner did give us credit for our last night’s stay. If you go in the summer, expect LOTS of flies.
“This is the best vacation I’ve ever had!” exclaimed one of our grandsons. The rest of our family heartily agree!
Our Wyoming vacation was a year in the making coordinating 11 individuals from 4 households, ranging in ages 6-75.
This vacation was soooo worth the effort.
The Upper Hideaway Mountain Lodge is all its online listing said and more. Intensely gorgeous views, peaceful setting ,rustically comfortable, roomy inside and out, extraordinary flora and fauna, one-of-a-kind home.
When we stayed there, the owners were out of town. The host Alexis was readily accessible by text with the few questions we had.
Our family rented the 2 seat 4-wheeler and explored the mountains. Fishing expeditions provided delicious fresh trout for dinner. Wildlife is abundant with sitings of whitetail and mule deer, grouse, snowshoe hare, antelope, elk, moose, and birds. The herds of free ranging cattle were really interesting to watch, as were the parasailors drifting down from the mountain top.
Everyone of us would have stayed another week if we could have.
This is absolutely a “don’t miss out on this one” vacation destination!
I organized our annual family “women” trip to the Big Horns this year. My original booking was denied because they forgot to mark out dates for the annual hunters. Back to the drawing board for places to stay. I found this cabin - “snowheresville”. It looked too perfect to be true….and it was - perfect I mean;) There are no words to describe the views, but I will try. Breathtaking, Serene, Peaceful, Spiritual, Calm and Quiet. So very very quiet and still. I felt removed from the world, on a mountain all my own - and the family of course! When you sit in the swing chair overlooking the valley and the trees - you really do feel like you dropped into another world. Moving on to the cabin - YAY!! I walked in to the old fashioned kitchen complete with pained windows, pots hanging on the wall and the most wonderful antique stove. I couldn’t wait to get further into this place! Dining room was stunning!! The view, the log dining set, the decor, artwork - WOW! From there it was room after room of patchwork quilts, wood burning stoves, claw foot tub, log bed frames with incredibly comfy mattresses. I have stayed in quite a few B&B’s & VRBO’s, but this one was different. It felt like the home welcomed & embraced us. I have no doubts that this has much to do with the wonderful owners and the guests that have stayed and made memories like us. Thank you Hutchins - for sharing your home, your dogs and letting us drag you in to visit. You are awesome! We made friends and a beautiful memory.
This was our 2nd visit to this beautiful mountain cabin and will always be our first go to, it accommodated our big family! Both times have been clean and homey! The view is so soothing, there is nothing like it! The on-site owners are great people, quiet and you hardly know they are there! You are close to the mountain adventures of hiking and riding sxs trails etc. and not super far from town if you need something! 100% recommend to everyone!
Great experience, Eric is a helpful and accommodating host. The property is very well designed to accommodate several guest comfortably. The rooms are large and beds comfortable, and there are multiple common areas for guests to enjoy. The views are of course outstanding.
Accomodations as described. Well stocked kitchen. Deck and view is to die for. Hiking in the area was beutiful. Kayaked at upper resevoir and Sibley Lake. Hosts and local dogs are wonderful and non-intrusive. Bring clothes, food, and a desire to be outdoors. I would reccomend a minimum AWD vehicle for Red Grade Trail. Do not miss the Brinto museum.
Location was perfect for us we came in from Colorado, Montana & Wisconsin. Three married couples meeting together, the views were awesome, this place has it all : beauty & comfort & space. We hope to come back....
Staying here with my family was the highlight of our summer! The accommodations were exactly what we needed! My family unit was my husband, our two children (4 and 4mo). We traveled (from Casper wy) with my dad and his wife who hailed from Jerusalem Israel. As they have specific dietary needs the kitchen was perfect and the space was so great that we were able to have our own spaces (and then some)!!
For me the bonus was having a fur friend (Bo the cat) come join me for reading and resting in the swing.
I would highly recommend this vacation rental Eric and Pamelaare generous and knowledgeable hosts!
We had a great time!
Thank you!
We had a nice weekend stay at this cabin. The cabin is has a fully stocked kitchen, large rooms with many thoughtful items to make you comfortable and entertain you and a large deck that is perfect to relax and watch the area. This cabin is large with plenty of room to bring your entire family. The owners stay on site in the basement. They are great hosts and very helpful.
