Somewhere Special! Fairy Tale Cottage is situated in the lovely twin hamlets of Alta and Dutch Flat, California. This is Gold Country and the I-80 Gateway to the High Sierra. Close to Auburn, Colfax and Rollins Lake to the West and Immigrant Gap, Truckee, and Ski Resorts of Sugar Bowl and Boreal to the East. You’ll love my place because it’s a 1,000 sq. ft. house with charming details (rock fireplace, jacuzzi soaker tub), with two bedrooms, large master with king bed and loft with two full beds, on a beautiful forested acreage with easy , 3/4 mile access to I-80, at 3,500 ft. Elevation. Family and Pet friendly!
The Placer County Tourist Occupancy Tax "TOT Tax" of 8% is not included in the booking fees and will be requested under separate cover. When paid, such tax will be directly paid to Placer County.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

This cabin is really special. We loved our stay and slept great in the comfortable bed! My dog and I loved taking walks on the property to explore all the artful moments the owner has created. The kitchen had everything we needed. It is very peaceful and I felt immediately disconnected and stress free!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin cottage! The hostess was incredibly sweet and truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The property is absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful. We really enjoyed hiking around the property with our doggies. The cottage itself was cozy, comfortable, and so charming we didn’t want to leave. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it!

Nestled in the woods, it felt like stepping into a fairytale. Every detail of the cottage was beautifully thought out, charming, cozy, and clearly designed with care and love. My husband, teenager, and I instantly felt at home, and our dogs were in heaven exploring the property. It’s rare to find a place that feels this peaceful and special. Suzan was a lovely and gracious host, and we truly felt welcomed. We’re already dreaming about coming back!

So peaceful and cozy

Wonderful stay. House looks small from the outside, but rooms are spacious. Good size kitchen with good space to cook and bathroom with dual sinks, jetted tub and walk in shower. Master bedroom was big, has a sitting area/desk space; King size bed, very comfy. Loft beds 2 full size. also comfy, my daughter loved it up there. Suzan was welcoming, very friendly and attentive to details. Land is beautiful. We had snow during our weekend, needed 4 wheel drive, but was amazing! We all played in the snow, and then enjoyed getting warm by the fire in the home. Suzan welcomed our two dogs (70lb lab and 50lb puppy) with open arms and they loved playing in the snow and had tons of space to run free without bothering others or being in another property. Property is easy to find if you follow Suzan directions (even in the snow). We are looking forward to returning! Wonderful experience and weekend for our family of 3 humans and 2 dogs.

Wonderfully Cozy and Tranquil!

The cottage was wonderful. We are a family of 5. 2 adults and and our 3 children. Ages 9, 4 and 2. Let me tell you there was something for everyone there. The cottage was small but cozy. High chair was available which helped a lot. It was so clean and very well taken care of. The attention to detail by Suzan was just a breath of fresh air. The blankets towels sheets I mean everything smelled so clean and fresh. The house was very clean and well equipped. The outside was super fun for our family we enjoyed the frisbee golf, corn hole, swing set and just exploring the property every morning and evening was exciting for the children and ourselves. I felt very safe with my kids outside even though we always went out with them, she has is so well kept it was perfect our our little ones. I’m a spiritual person and the energy of a place always defines my stay. As soon as we got there I was filled with such love and warmth. So much was put into this property that you can’t help but feel at home there. Suzan greeted us and was so sweet and kind. We will definitely be back to visit soon. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We went back home refreshed and recharged!

Enchanting environment, caring host

We came to the fairytale cottage two days after having to say goodbye to our elderly dog, and needless to say we were sad and tired. But Suzan was so caring and welcoming and the house and property so enchanting that we were able to really rest and begin the healing process. The house is very clean and cozy. So much attention to detail, so much thoughtfulness went into her cottage and the property. Will definitely stay here again.

You truly couldn’t have a better host than Suzan. The surrounding property is beautiful. The house has everything you could need. A large shower with duel shower heads, a very unique soaking tub, a big beautiful fireplace, and so much more. Suzan was available and very responsive when I had a question. Fairly Tale Cottage

Fairy tale cottage was just what we expected. It is a beautiful charming serene and calm place to just sit back and relax. Our host Suzan was so kind and warm. She tended to our every need. This little spot between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe is just the right place to visit and stay when you want a little get away. Are little dogs loved it here, many nice trails to walk with them. Absolutely Wonderful Stay!!

Our stay at the Fairy Tale Cottage was the perfect place for a relaxing girls weekend getaway!! The cottage is a beautiful home set back in, off the road, surrounded by tall pine trees. The cottage itself is nicely furnished, very clean and fully stocked with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The owner, Suzan, is the most wonderful and gracious hostess and we truly enjoyed our time visiting with her. We all agreed that God had truly blessed us with our stay here and look forward to returning again soon!! :)

Suzan is absolutely an amazing person!!! Property was clean and well kept, cabin is spectacular!! We spent the evening by the fire talking with Suzan and enjoyed a glass of wine conversation. We had a pleasant anniversary weekend. The cabin is great. Everything was just as described. We spent a lot of time playing games at the kitchen table. The view is wonderful. The property was very green due to plenty of rain. It poured one night while we were there. The bed is comfortable. Plenty of hot water. We would enjoy staying again and maybe bring some friends.
