About this property

Relaxing Oceanfront Retreat with Hot Tub

Summary:

Marabello

The Space:

This Fort Bragg vacation rental is so close to the surf, you may just be able to feel the ocean spray from the back deck! Add to that a private hot tub, a deck overlooking the ocean, a cozy interior, and a great location just south of downtown Fort Bragg and you'll see why this Northern California Coast getaway is a hidden gem along the rocky shore.

This well-designed, 300-square-foot studio is attached to a larger home and offers plenty of amenities, even though its layout is compact. From practically every window you'll have a gorgeous view of the ocean. In the evenings, relax on the comfortable sofa, while you watch cable TV or a DVD, or you may just want to snuggle and enjoy the view.

Relax out on the deck, or if the weather is stormy, just stay inside and watch the dramatic show from the warmth of your Marebello retreat.

Hungry? Head to the full kitchen to whip up a meal - you'll have a refrigerator, stovetop/oven, microwave, and other gadgets for everything from heating up leftovers to making a vacation feast. There's even a two-seat bistro table for enjoying your creations.

This Fort Bragg vacation studio has a four-poster queen-sized bed and a full bathroom with a shower. You'll also have a stereo if you want to listen to music. Perfect for up to two guests, Marebello makes a wonderfully romantic retreat or an ideal and quiet Fort Bragg getaway for one.

From here, you are less than a block away from one of the nicest attractions on the Northern California Coast - the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Hike along beautiful trails, bird watching, and learn about coastal ecosystems and their flora and fauna. Other nearby attractions include downtown Fort Bragg, only three miles to the north. Here you can wander shops and galleries, and when you work up an appetite stop in at North Coast Brewing for pints of Blue Star Wheat Beer and garlic fries.

This location is also very convenient for visiting the postcard-perfect community of Mendocino, just eight miles to the south. Hike along the bluff at the Mendocino Headlands State Park, browse for books at the Mendocino Book Company, or just sightsee around this quaint oceanside village.

Your stay at this Northern California vacation rental will be so pleasant and charming, that you may not want to leave! Spend lazy afternoons wandering through coastal gardens, and in the evenings, relax on the deck while you take in a spectacular sunset.

*Please note that the stairs off the deck are currently unusable. Access to the beach is within walking distance from the home, walk back down the driveway, onto Old Coast Highway behind the Ark, walk until you reach Cypress Road, turn left on Cypress and on your right you will see a fence, directly at the end of the fence is an access trail down to Hare Creek Beach.

This is a stunning oceanfront location. The simple, clean property had everything we needed for a restful getaway. We arrived at night and had some difficulty finding the unit without additional directions from the rental agency. Once found, it was a pure delight.

Loved this tiny house and its location. The view was priceless and made up for a few little shortcomings. Place was clean and comfortable but could really use some wall hooks and another suitcase stand or credenza to put suitcases on and hang things up in bathroom and main room other than kitchen closet. Bathroom shelves would be a great option for people to put their toiletries on. Kitchen plastic ware could really be updated and a couple lounge chairs and small coffee table on patio would had been useful and nice. . Thankfully, we did bring our own lounge chairs with us so that worked well. The tsunami warning was a little unnerving but we loved our time there and use of the hot tub. The bed and bedding was nice but mattress may need to be replaced for something firmer in the near future. Thank you Marabello for a lovely stay. Ps. The deer and bobcat were a win as well. Great location and view

Everything was wonderful accept the bed would be fine for 1 person but the broken down mattress is saggy and uncomfortable for two. Sways to the middle.

Amazing view, uncomfortable bed

This little place was so cute and the view was very beautiful! It was nearly perfect; unfortunately the bed was super uncomfortable. It felt like we were sleeping in a hammock. Besides the bed situation this place was wonderful!

Breathtaking

My husband and I stayed at the property for an extended weekend over valentine's day. The location is remote and absolutely gorgeous! The hottub was perfect and it was nice to feel you had privacy in the remote area, yet be so so close to town. The location can't be beat! The kitchen is very small, but functional (to be expected). It could use a few more basics such as more than 2 towels when you have guests staying 4 nights and there is no washer and dryer. We bought groceries to cook in our last night only to discover the BBQ had no propane. We contacted the property manager after hours and they acknowledged it was an oversight on them and someone did not replace them during the last cleaning. They were very understand, apologetic, and easy to work with and even gave us a small refund for the inconvenience. Will absolutely be back!

Amazing/Breathtaking View

When we got to the vrbo it had not been cleaned from the previous persons. I called Kat the property management manager and within minutes she had people cleaning the cottage. The space is basically 1 room and a small bathroom. But OMG that view. Nothing could beat the view. And the hottub is great.

That View!!

You couldn't ask for a better location. Right ON the ocean. sit on the deck and watch the waves! Don't expect to be cooking gourmet meals in the tiny (but well stocked) kitchen, but that's ok, just go out for dinner. Shower was good, bed was comfy but too small for us fat old fogies (I need to remember to always book a place with a king size bed). Couch was comfy. Perfect for 2 people.

Nice Getaway

The cottage is in a beautiful location, overlooking the ocean. The sound of the waves was very soothing. The kitchen had what we needed for making a small breakfast, but that’s about it. The hot tub was nice, lots of stars, but it has way too much chlorine in it. It tarnished my silver ring because the level was so high. The bed was comfortable for us, but it is VERY soft, so keep this in mind if your back doesn’t like soft beds. Overall, it was a nice coastal getaway for our anniversary.

Redwood trip

Beautiful view !!! Accommodations were great / had everything we needed . However the mattress is very very saggy very uncomfortable and the satellite dish is very very very rusty and looks as if it may break and fall off the roof at any moment ; Wi-Fi was very unreliable and very spotty . We saw on reviews that mattress is new as of March this year so owner may want to check on warranty of this product . Not good …,

Amazing View

This property was very clean and neat. The view you have of the ocean is absolutely amazing. Seeing the waves crashing over the rocks is a sight to behold. The Wifi can be a little iffy and I would not totally depend on it. Several times my computer would time out before the website loaded up. But if you want to be off from the main road and be right next to the ocean this is the place to be. The cliff is only a few feet away from the back sliding door. There is deck which you can sit and watch and listen to the waves. listen

PRIVATE AND PEACEFUL

Everything was as it was supposed to be. Sometimes pictures are Strategically taken to make things look better (Different) than what the reality is-Not here though! Very cute little house that overlooks the ocean. Great views with plenty of glass. Hot tub worked great. There's a bench that sits on the bluff overlooking the ocean to sit & drink coffee in the morning, watch the sunset in the evening Or you could sit in the hot tub and watch the sun set... The BEST Part is the Privacy! There is Nobody right on top of you so it is Very peaceful.... I'm one that is very critical of What you attempt to sell me and Expect it to be what you say And what you Lead me to Believe it is. No negative surprises here. I would highly recommend this place! Great Location, Bad Management.

Upon arriving at the location, we walked in expecting to see the beautiful views pictured in the ad. To my major disappointment, the windows were extremely dirty. So, I spent the next hour cleaning the windows. Next, we were searching for the obvious things like bath towels. As it turns out there was only one bath towel per person. We had to hang them to dry to be used for the next consecutive days. The next and most major concern was the hot tub. We went to use the hot tub. Upon turning on the jets, we were getting an unusual smell and mist coming up. We left the hot tub and set our swimsuits out on the deck so they would be dry for the next day. The next day we went out to retrieve the swimsuits and discovered that mine had turned from black to brown. It had been bleached out from the chemicals in the hot tub. I contacted customer service and they apologized and simply said “Is there anything else I may be of assistance with?”. Blown off again. I took a sample of the water to get it independently tested. As it turns out there was at least ten times the amount of Bromine that was supposed to be in there. I contacted customer service and their reply was that the person they use to maintain the hot tub was “The only guy in town”. So, we could no longer use the hot tub for the remainder of the stay. The ocean views from this location were unbelievably spectacular. The room itself was nice. If only the company maintaining it, Vacasa, would have been as good.

Amazing Location! Sweet cozy clean studio. (needs a little maintenance)

We spent five nights in a heavenly quiet location right on the ocean. We had four days of perfect weather, with the clouds and sunshine dancing back and forth. We sat on the deck and in the hot tub and soaked in the beauty and found true relaxation. The fifth day was very blustery, but even if we couldn't go outside much it was stunningly beautiful and we could watch from inside. You can walk down the picturesque narrow road over to the Botanical Gardens, which is one of the best! (This little studio has an adjacent larger unit but no one was there while we were there. If there had been someone renting that unit it would have still been lovely but not quite as private.) We saw whales, lots of sea lions, oyster catchers, osprey, and great blue herons. Everything was very clean. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, the comfortable bed (good sheets) and the shower worked well (good towels). It was nice to have the sofa for reading and relaxing. We ate every meal at home so we could enjoy the view, but there are restaurants in town that looked interesting and we would particularly recommend going to the famers market on Wednesdays with lots of good bread and fruits/vegetables and meat/fish choices. The walking paths along the ocean in Fort Bragg are a great way to get out and exercise along the beautiful coastal scenery. Any downside? There were a few maintenance issues which did not mar our visit but the owners should fix. (We can see from other reviews and from the notes in the visitor journal that windows are long time issues.) 1. The faucet on the outdoor hose leaks, 2. The sliding glass door is very heavy and does not slide smoothly - it took two of us to open it and close it. 3. When we tried to open the window over the dining table, the frame around the window came off on one side. We had a wonderful stay and would return again, but we would love to see the owners address these maintenance issues to make this an absolutely perfect vacation house. The good far out weighs the bad, and we highly recommend this little retreat by the sea.

Great Ocean View

The condo was cute. Very small, basically a hotel room with a kitchen. Here is honestly what I would recommend to anyone booking this place: 1. CALL them with directions BEFORE you start driving. The website says to print out directions, which you can do. However on the google maps there is no directions that will actually get you to the property. Unmarked gate off of a side road, we only found if after having to call the manager late at night after searching on our own for 30 minutes. 2. There is no beach access. The house is on a cliff, which offers wonderful views of the waves, but no beach. There's some old stairs, which go halfway down the cliff and are not usable. The website says "Please note that the stairs off the deck are currently unusable. Please access the beach by walking out of the front door."....The front door does not face the ocean nor does it take you to a path that gets to the ocean. So...just be prepared for that. 3. The bed is very comfortable with 4 pillows and enough bedding. The mattress sags in the middle, but not the worst. We went in December, the tiny heater does not really heat up the place so just pack warmer clothes. 4. The hot tub was working for us, it is awesome. The lock on it is a little rusty but it does open ! 5. Nice bathroom. Great mirror lighting, shower is not tall people friendly! 6. I felt a little weird knowing this house is attached to a larger, 2 story house and didn't want to have people being able to hear/watch us our entire trip, the management was friendly and informed me no one would be in the house during my stay. I'm sure they will work with any questions you have. I had to call the property managers after hours twice: once when we couldn't find the place, and the second night when the power went out. They were very helpful and always answered. 7. Plenty of extra towels, bedding, shampoo/conditioner, dish soap, dishes, and kitchen items are available. No condiments in fridge, plan to bring your own food items.
