About this property
New modern farm home in Mad River Ski Valley
Enjoy the beauty of the Mad River Valley in our farmhouse apartment with 3 bedrooms, den, & 1-1/2 bath, that sits on 91 acres of land with cross-country ski and hiking trails, an organic farm with chickens and sheep, and private access to the Mad River.
Ten minutes to Waitsfield & Waterbury, and only 20 minutes to Sugarbush, Mad River resorts & Montpelier, and 30-40 minutes to Stowe Mountain Resorts, Smugglers Notch, Bolton Valley, and Burlington.
The space
The apartment, known as the Common House, sits at the heart of a five-family cohousing community. The house has two wraparound porches, light-filled rooms, vaulted ceilings, radiant heating, heat pumps, and a wood-burning stove. It also has an attached one-bedroom suite, with a separate private porch and entrance, that can be rented out separately.
You enter the first floor through the mudroom, (which is also the community laundry room which is used throughout the week.) There is a door off the mudroom with a keyed lock that is your entrance to your private apartment. It has a modern kitchen with all-new appliances, a half bath, an open-floor-plan dining room, and a living room floor, with French doors leading out to a large deck.
The second floor has a full bathroom and three bedrooms—one with a queen bed, one with two twin beds, and one with a bunk bed. It also has a full den with a queen-size sofa bed that sleeps two, vaulted ceilings, and a foosball table. Wifi and off-street parking included.
Guest access
There is designated parking 10 feet from the entrance to the common house. You can pull directly up to the entrance to unload your skiing and adventure gear!
you will enter a mudroom This is also the cohousing community laundry room which members of our community use. Off this mudroom is the door to your private 3 bedroom, 2 story apt with a keyed entrance.
Other things to note
Please note: This is a great family destination, but not a party house and if you are looking for that, unfortunately, this is not the place. However, if you are looking for a peaceful, magical place on a farm and in the center of the Mad River Valley close to all the ski resorts, you will love it here!
