Great property! Very remote, with great views, and awesome opportunities to view wildlife from the upper deck porch. The owner was very helpful in her communications.
We loved the seclusion, the views, the sunsets, the hummingbirds and creatures of the property. It truly was magical. The recommendation for an eco guide, Hairo Cruz, was maybe the highlight as he enhanced our stay with his knowledge. Pura Vida.

Thank you very much for your very kind message. we’re glad that you enjoyed staying at our home and Costa Rica.
We enjoyed our time in Monteverde, this was our second time visiting the area. My husband is an avid birder and was able to obtain 17 new life birds. A vehicle with higher ground clearance would be best. The house was very accommodating, with good views to the west.
A beautiful home surrounded by lush rainforest with views of the gulf in the distance. Coatis, monkeys, hummingbirds, and other birds were all around us. Glonda's communication was incredible at every stage - from check-in, to supporting us with cleaning and laundry, to (most importantly) giving us tips on birding and adventuring in the area. My son is an avid birder, and left our 10 day stay in Monteverde with over 100 lifers added to his list - over 20 of which were found on the property. We truly felt that we were guests staying in the home of an old friend. My husband and I worked while our kids were in summer camp in Monteverde, and the wifi was excellent, as was the Costa Rican coffee they had waiting their guests. Rent a 4WD vehicle (not just for the property, but for Monteverde in general!) and enjoy this truly unique, remarkable property in a gorgeous town.
This is THE house in Monteverde for nature lovers. We saw at least half a dozen hummingbird species in a constant parade because of the feeders and flowers around the house. It's possible to see the hummingbird feeders from the front bedrooms, so you literally wake up to hummers in the morning! A pair of Lesson's mot-mots have a burrow somewhere behind the house, and we regularly saw them on the fence in the afternoon. An entire troop of coatimundi (including babies) came to feed from the tree in front of the house one day, and we also saw agouti and numerous single male coati in the yard. Wrens and thrushes surround the house with gorgeous birdsong all day, and we also saw a keel-billed toucan! The road to the house is narrow and steep, but drivable, so a typical Costa Rican rural road. The owner is very responsive and a good communicator.Beds were very comfortable and have mattress-pad heaters, in case the weather gets chilly. We had a fantastic stay and were sad to leave.
