Apartment had basics. The building was old and characteristic, note that there's no aircon or fans so during summer gets hot easily. Location was excellent for travellers seeking peaceful and beautiful scenery, nature and history.

Cheap and cheerful we thought how wrong can you be

The rental rates are so good we didn't expect too much, wow we were wrong, the apartment is so nice, very clean, well equipped, lots of light and even though it is on the road up the the main piazza it was quiet at night, except for the toads... We began to feel like the locals as everybody waved to us when we were sat on the balcony after a hot day spent in the cool waters of the various pools (carne (bad spelling) was my favourite as we could walk there easily. It was easy to get to the beach on the bus and beach towels are supplied so that was great as we didn't have to fill our suitcases with them. There are tennis rackets and kids stuff as well so it was very handy, the tennis court is perfect just book in the ice cream parlour and collect the key!! Do not forget to have an ice cream when you bring the key back mmmmmm The apartment has a full size oven which was handy, but we tended to go to the pizzeria which has a great menu for lunch or dinner. Do not forget to collect some vegetable pie (torta verde) and pizza halves from the coffee bar next door to take for a picnic it is to die for literally. A really great holiday and we will be back, the kids did not want to leave.

Traumhafte Umgebung !!!

Die Wohnung war optimal in der Ortsmitte gelegen. Die Wohnung war Landestypisch einfach und schön. Der morgendliche Ausblick auf das ligurische Grün war traumhaft. Die Pizzeria im Ort war für uns DIE Anlaufstelle. Sehr freundlich und super lecker :-) Die Kinder konnten zudem auch alleine zum Einkaufen losgeschickt werden, alles sehr unkompliziert und so herrlich einfach :-)

Berge, Bäche und Meer

Unser Aufenthalt war wunderbar. Die Kommunikation mit Jane und Neil hat gut geklappt. Die Unterlagen in der Wohnung zur Erkundigung der näheren Umgebung waren sehr hilfreich. Einzig das WLAN hat nicht funktioniert. Aber alles in allem ein wunderbarer Urlaub.

Great stay in a great little town

We had a great time. The flat is big enough for bedrooms to be spread so everyone had their own space and intimacy. The common area was big enough for 6 adults and 2 kids. The owners were very responsive and very helpful. We also loved Pina with lovely people and good restaurants. The river IS cold but so pretty. And the beach is only 30-45 min away.

Heerlijk verblijf in Pigna

We hebben genoten in Pigna. Prachtig middeleeuws dorpje waar je echt tot rust kan komen. In 15-20 minuten ben je aan de kust bij Ventemiglia en Monaco ligt op 30 minuten rijden. Het appartement is echt prachtig met oude details. Het is prima koel gezien de dikke muren en zonder airco is het er toch prima uit te houden. Het is schoon en netjes en handdoeken e.d. Zijn beschikbaar. Wij waren er met een gezin van 4, maar met 6 of 8 personen lijkt het ook prima te kunnen. Echt een aanrader als verblijf als je de Italiaanse en Franse bloemenrivièra wilt bezoeken.

Tolle kleine Stadt

Wir waren 14 Tage in Pigna und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll eingerichtet und hat den typisch italienischen Charme. Ärgerlich war, dass die Therme die Coronazeit nicht überstanden hat und somit ein Besuch in der Therme nicht möglich war. Allerdings gibt es im Umfeld so viele schöne Wasserstellen, welche zum abkühlen einladen ;)

Fantastisch!

Wir haben wunderschöne zwei Wochen in der großen, charmanten Altbauwohnung verbracht. Besonders die Abende mit Blick auf das Dörfchen haben wir in vollen Zügen genossen. Ein Urlaub, bei dem man den Alltag eines italienischen Bergdorfes kennen- und lieben lernen kann. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!

Sehr schönes Appartment im Herzen Pignas

Das Appartment ist schön und sehr geräumig, wie auf den Bildern dargestellt. Es liegt mitten in Pigna, ein kleines Lebensmittel- Geschäft und zwei Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe. In Pigna gibt es alles, was man zum Leben braucht. Vom Appartment aus kann man direkt loswandern. Das Meer ist 20 km entfernt, die Strecke dorthin etwas mühsam mit dem Auto. Zum Appartment gehört ein Garagenstellplatz, dieser ist Gold wert, weil die Parksituation schwierig ist. Die Kommunikation mit Neil war immer freundlich und unkompliziert. Er antwortet schnell. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub!

Perfect apartment for the family

Beautiful apartment in the middle of medieval city Pigna. Pigna peaceful little town, only 20 min away from Ligurian coast. It is also perfect location for mountain hiking and nature exploration.

Very nice stay in a spacious, well furnished flat

The flat was very big, airy and classily furnished with nice stone-tiled floors throughout. It's in a great spot on the hill in the middle of village, 20m from a nice bar, 50m from a food shop that had everything we needed for a week and 100m from the best pizza I had in years... Pigna is a great base for exploring the back country of the Ligurian Alps and the Riviera. We ate very well at the town pizzeria and the excellent restaurant next to the now defunct spa. We did some great mountain bike circuits in the hills behind Pigna but be ready for some very strenuous effort, the hills are very steep. Apricale is a great half day outing (a more touristy version of Pigna) with 3 great restaurants. Dolceacqua is very picturesque but completely spoilt by tourism so go at the very start of the day. And the highlight feature of the area is really the pools in the river nearby - paradise for swimming and cooling off from the heat (intense in August). They can be busy but noting like the beaches on the coast.

Grand Appartement avec belle vue dans petit village de montagne.illage

Nous avons beaucoup aimé cet appartement avec vue magnifique sur la montagne et le village. Celui-ci est charmant et est situé près de magnifiques rivières où on peut se baigner. Possibilité de belles balades dans le coin. Bonne pizzeria et glacier. Il y a 4 chambres mais pour manger c est difficile au-delà de 4, 5. Equipement assez simple mais fonctionnel. Un peu de moustique. Il y a maintenant du wifi mais trop faible et le réseau 4G l est aussi. La mer qui est a 30 minutes nous a moins plu que la montagne car assez bondée mais c est chouette d avoir la possibilité de faire les deux. Propriétaires très aidants à distance.

Fantastischer Urlaub

Es war ein schöner Urlaub mit der ganzen Familie. Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in Pigna mit unseren 4 Kindern. Die Großen liefen sorgenfrei durchs Dorf ohne das man Angst um sie haben mussten. Die Gelateria im Ort ist nicht nur die beste im Ort, die Eigentümer sind auch super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt einige Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe, die alle super gutes und regionales Essen anbieten - Preise absolut fair!! Die Wohnung hatte alles was wir brauchten und war sehr schön und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Abends kann man den Tag auf dem Balkon ausklingen lassen, auf dem man einen tollen Blick auf Pigna hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder!! Nochmal großes Lob und Danke an Neil, der zuvorkommend und geduldig alle Fragen beantwortet hat, die wir hatten. Auch gab er zahlreiche Insider tips ;) Liebe Grüße

Ideal spot for cyclists, walkers and nature lovers

The Casa Dolcevita is a spacious, 4 bedroom apartment in the centre of the steep hillside village of Pigna. With all basic amenities, it provides a great base camp for exploring Pigna and the local river valley districts of Imperia. The village of Pigna is - apart from a new parking area - an ‘unpimped’ Ligurian village, with a couple of little bars, alimentari and restaurants that will offer all you need. Not a spot for nightlife, which suited our three generations just fine. The main attractions of Pigna are: * its location on one of the main pro cyclist training routes in region. Professional and good amateur climbers can be seen whizzing through the village, sometimes stopping off at Fabio’s fabulous pasticceria Desire deRoy for a drink. * the nearby natural rock pools where one can jump and slide from rocks into mountain streams (there are no local swimming pools: a large nearby resort spa centre closed some years ago and its listed offerings are no longer available) * the surrounding mountains and valleys provide for a range of reasonably well marked tracks and trails that wind through lovely natural and farm landscapes.

In dem idyllischen Bergdorf Pigna ist dies eine sehr schöne Wohnung mit toller Atmosphäre. Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral und ist mit allem ausgestattet. Die Vermieter waren sehr hilfsbereit bei Fragen. Es hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Von Pigna aus sind verschiedenste Ausflüge möglich. Alles in allem ein schöner und erholsamer Aufenthalt.

What a terrific holiday

We spent two weeks at Casa Dolce Vita in Pigna and had a terrific time! The apartment is very spacious and incredibly comfortable. The property was very clean and well maintained. The balcony is wonderful place to have breakfast or lunch – we enjoyed the fantastic views and the sunshine. We were there with 2 families and had so much room. The owner Neil and his father were very friendly and answered all of our questions, recommending great restaurants in the area. We went to visit the many small villages and admiring the breathtaking view of the mountains and the sea. An amazing village is Dolceacqua, where the doors are painted by artists and where one can get lost strolling on the narrow pathways through the town. But Pigna is, in my opinion, the most beautiful village in the valley. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this vacation home and it's surroundings to anyone looking for a romantic and memorable holiday. We will definitely be back, Grazie mille!

Charming Italian village house

A very enjoyable stay in a lovely traditional village house with lots of character. Cosy, clean and tidy with all facilities. The owner is friendly and very helpful with a good knowledge of the area. Pigna is a charming village with superb views and several good walks locally. The Desir de Roy bar/restaurant is welcoming and good value for money. We would certainly recommend this property.

Beautiful Apartment and Village

Just the most lovely fairytale holiday for us! The apartment was very clean, very spacious, uncluttered furnishings. The beautiful quiet surroundings were just lovely to wake up in and enjoy breakfast outside on the balcony. Amenities were all a short drive away, and Neil and his father Sandro were very helpful. This is a great starting point for discovering the Ligurian area! Absolute recommendations are the Hanbury gardens in Ventimiglia, the Genoa Aquarium and our personal favorite the town of Alassio where we went for frequent runs along the seaside boulevard. The town has lovely little streets, a beautiful natural mountain spring (Carne), Gelato shop and restaurants to chose from!

Lovely apartment, charming area, attentive owner

My family and I just returned from spending a wonderful Christmas in Pigna. The apartment is large, clean and comfortable. We were surprised to find a beautiful & dramatic natural waterfall next to the bedroom windows coming down from the mountain - apparently its there when its been raining, though we had lovely weather the week we were there. The beds were very cosy! The kitchen has all the basics and we cooked excellent meals with the locally acquired ingredients. The village is lovely & historic and one can walk extensively through it and up to a mountain top; there is an ancient church where we attended Midnight Mass and felt welcome. A car is essential and from Pigna, one can day trip to the French Riviera, or visit nearby towns Sanremo, Ventimiglia, Apricale, Dolceaqua. Neil responded to all our queries promptly and gave us great advice. A great winter getaway - would love to go back in another season! Highly recommended!

Wunderschöne, luftige Wohnung

Wir haben mit unseren beiden Kindern (11,14) eine erholsame Woche in Pigna verbracht. Die Wohnung ist ideal gelegen als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und für Entdeckungen an der Küste. Zwei kleine Lebensmittelgeschäfte, Restaurants und ein sensationell gutes Eiscafé (auch zum Frühstücken ideal!) sichern faule Lesetage. Die Wohnung ist sehr großzügig geschnitten, luftig, hell und mit Geschmack eingerichtet. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war sehr nett. Danke, Neil, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Leuk dorpsappartement met prachtig uitzicht. 8 slaapplekken maar kleine woonkamer en eetkamer, wij waren met zn 3-e dus geen probleem. Het ligt aan de dorpsweg waardoor vanaf 5:30u tot 1:00u autos en scooters onder je raam rijden. Niet echt stil dus

Prachtig huis en omgeving

Na een hartelijk welkom van eigenaar Neil was het heerlijk vertoeven in zijn prachtige appartement. Vanaf het balkon heb je mooi uitzicht over het dorpje. We hebben leuke tips gekregen voor wandelingen en uitstapjes in de omgeving, zoals een mooie en spannende wandeling naar een bergtop bij Refugio Allavena, of heerlijke eten bij Sul Ponte. In de omgeving veel oude middeleeuwse dorpjes met poortjes, trappetjes en steegjes en overal idyllische valleitjes langs beekjes met bloemen en olijf- en fruitbomen. Heerlijke vakantie gehad, thanks Neil!

I am born and brought up in Pigna and married to my English wife, both my children went to school in the village and the University in the UK, so the best of both worlds.

It is such a lovely and relaxing apartment, it is so big you can get lost, it is perfect for children as they have plenty of space to play whilst the adults are getting ready to take them out. We welcome children and pets and just want you to have a great time in the sun.
