Our group had a very pleasant stay at this property. The accommodations were as they were represented. Gary was very pleasant and helpful. There was ample room for everyone inside and out. Our group ranged from 8 to 12 people throughout the week. Teenage to elderly! We had great weather, played a lot of bags and had ample time in and on the water!
This was our 5th year at this property. 6 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 6 to 12. We love that we can dock our boats, fish, swim and float in the lake, play on the huge grounds, sit by the campfire singing and playing guitar with the owner and friends, eat meals all together at the enormous bar, and enjoy life all right there!!! There is plenty of room for all 11 of us!! We rent his pontoon for a family fun day. Will be returning next year as well!! Thanks a lot Gary!!!
Was a prefect location to do some outdoor adventures. Easy access to the lake for some ice fishing fun. Plenty of parking for family to come and go while visiting.Enough run for the group without running into each other.Enjoyed the stay
We spent 7 glorious days at Skillys Big Chip Lodge and loved every minute of our stay. The lodge would be great for a family/group getaway but we found it was also perfect for just the two of us. Vintage & rustic chic - fish right off the dock & fall colors. Great host
The Chippewa Flowage is so beautiful. The host is super nice and friendly. Place is great for hunting/fishing trips, just could use a little updating/cleaning.
Building is old but it had everything we needed for cooking, fishing, tubing, and relaxing. Access to the bar was a hit with the kids. Owner was easy to work with and a great host.
I moved to Cabin One next door to the Lodge in 2016. I've had a varied life as a commercial illustrator, childcare center owner, commercial fisherman, beverage salesman, small business entrepreneur, guitar player and insurance man. I recently earned my insurance license and started GWSkillys Insurance in 2022. I'm also the father of four beautiful children and 13, 8 4 and 1 year old granddaughters. And in the picture is my very special girlfriend, Mame.

What makes this property unique
A huge deck, knotty pine construction, beautiful fireplace room, dock and great view make this place. Bring the dog. Then there's the historic bar filled with pictures of days gone by. Think of the money your group will save by having your own bar! Relax without feeling like you're on pins and needles around the furnishings. We sell bait and firewood to save time. I still see something new there as I eat my breakfast and look out over Big Chip. Awesome. Moore's Bay fills with crappie, walleye and musky in the Fall. Everyone on the lake comes right out front of the Lodge for excellent fishing every Fall. I will guide fishing trips to get you acquainted with the lake. Also do lake tours.
