Historic, Upscale Cottage Professionally Designed For Comfort

Hermanor Cottage was built in the 1830's and is a fine example of New Orleans Creole architecture. A beautiful, spacious front porch added in the early 1900's is both a welcoming feature and a wonderful place to sit with a cool drink and watch the quaint neighborhood go by. The location of Hermanor Cottage is both convenient and a bit off the beaten path. We are a few short blocks from the superb music, food and fun on FRENCHMEN STREET and only slightly further from the world-renowned FRENCH QUARTER. If you choose to arrive by car there is adequate parking on the street. The streetcar is close by and UBER arrives very quickly.
Our cottage apartment is professionally decorated in the traditional New Orleans style with original art and vintage pieces. The living room is charming and comfortable with a full size click clack sofa bed and a 40' HD TV. The front room is furnished with a vintage oak table that can serve as a desk or a dining spot. The fully furnished ,spacious kitchen has been recently renovated and has all new SS appliances. A round table seats 2 and a decorative fireplace add lots of quaint charm. Pick up some groceries at the nearby full grocery store and easily prepare a dinner at home. A beautiful new food hall is just a few blocks away for eat in or take out ethnic food choices.
Our unique Marigny (pronounced Mare-i-nee) neighborhood has much to offer. Some of our favorite places are Paladar 511 for fabulous Italian foog, Evviva for fine bistro fare, the newly renovated HOTEL PETER AND PAUL for romantic drinks and dining and RUBY SLIPPER for fabulous breakfasts. And did I mention the James Beard award winning restaurant Acamaya.All are just a block or two from the cottage. Several venues for live music are close by on the newly developed ST. CLAUDE corridor and include ALLWAYS LOUNGE, CAFE ISTANBUL, and NO DICE.
My husband is a concierge and tour reservationist. We live right next door and are always available for fun, creative activity suggestions, restaurant recommendations and general hospitality. Just outstanding. Beautiful unit restored perfectly with a gorgeous back courtyard. Decor is very artistic and tasteful. The detailed comforts are more than thoughtful. Location is great as is the charming neighborhood. Stayed in several great VRBO properties and have to say this one takes the cake. 10/10 is completely accurate.

Our Hosts were very kind and helpful in every way. This was our very first stay in New Orleans ever. This was the perfect neighborhood to easily walk to multiple restaurants and to the French Market and French Quarter. Plenty of ample parking near the accommodations. We parked upfront and 10 paces into the front door.

The house was wonderful! Very clean and organized. The owners live in the other half and were very nice!!! The entire process went smooth and Sara answered any questions that we had very timely. The location was great and a quick Uber ride away from anything, if needed. We will definitely stay here again! Loved sitting on the front porch in the morning having coffee watching the neighbors go by!

A perfect place for the weekend before Mardi Gras!

This is the cutest place in a nice neighborhood within walking distance to many of the things we wanted to see--the host was amazing and very thoughtful and helpful. This was my first foray into Vrbo, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone else.

Beautiful home made our stay special

The house had all the comforts of home. It was beautifully decorated., close to many activities. Our hosts were amazing. They offered many tips about where to go. Tom who is a concierge , set up a city and swamp tour for us. An added bonus was the pretty patio out back for a drink or coffee.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient. The house was lovely and very clean (even had a Christmas tree!). Sarah met us when we arrived. Parking was available out front. Restaurants were within walking distance. We'd definitely stay here again.

Beautiful house in great neighborhood

We stayed 3 nights in this home and loved it. The owners were very communicative and kind and even allowed us to stay longer than checkout time when they had no new guests arriving. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to be in a safe neighborhood, outside of the Quarter, but close enough to venture out. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Stay

This was our 1st time visiting New Orleans and just love staying here. We were so excited to stay in this historic home and it did not disappoint. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable plus had everything we needed. Sara was available for questions and help. The place was perfectly located and very well appointed. The full sized bed could have been a bit nicer but really no complaints. It is a fantastic place in a great neighborhood.

Lovely Cottage

My husband and I went to New Orleans to attend a wedding and stayed at this lovely cottage. Our host, Sara, was so welcoming and helpful. The cottage is a perfect place to stay, beautifully decorated, cozy, and super clean. The location is in a quiet, charming neighborhood and is an easy walking distance to the French Quarter and several great restaurants. I highly recommend staying here.

We finally chose to live in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood because it is so interesting and eclectic and yet close to the French Quarter and the Frenchmen St. excitement.

Our cottage is unique because it has so many years of history that have not been erased by modern renovations. It is comfortable to modern standards yet maintains it's historic beauty and authenticity.
