Theresa was very friendly and answered our family’s questions. The house was huge, clean, beds were comfortable, but do remember to bring your own towels and kitchen towels. Also paper towels and everything you need for cooking your meals, like aluminum wrap. Dishes and cooking utensils were there. Firepit area was very nice, glad I brought a marshmallow fork for our s’mores but forgot matches, the friendly neighbors lent us their lighter. Glad we brought some cards and a game to play. Would definitely recommend.
The house was very spacious and cleaned. We have everything that we need. The only thing I would suggest is to provide towels. Other than that everything is perfect.

Family Reunion
We had a great stay! The family reunion house was wonderful and just what we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. The house was very clean and comfortable. We were concerned about the water heater keeping up for all 13 of us but it wasn't a problem at all. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If we had any complaint at all it was that we weren't told that the house was the resort storm shelter until we arrived and since we were there during a week of thunderstorms it was a little frustrating. We all certainly understood the need for other customers to have a safe place to stay but it was very awkward having strangers come into the place where we were staying. We felt has if we had to be the hosts. They came in wet and with dogs and needing to use the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a staff member there to be the host and to clean up after they left. We were also concerned about what would happen if the storm shelter was needed when we were away. If we left for the day and the shelter was needed who would be there to let them in and make sure they stayed out of our personal belongings. There were no locks on the interior doors to keep strangers out of the bedrooms. After the first night of having to host strangers we just decided that someone needed to be there at all times which meant someone was always missing an activity. We kind of wondered why the store, which is also underground, wasn't used as a storm shelter….or why the new rec room wasn't built with a storm shelter. Just kind of inconvenient and something that is probably only an issue a few times a year. We just ended up with a bad weather week and had to deal with it. Other than that we absolutely loved it!

Hi J,
It was great meeting and family/friends. I'm glad to hear that you guys had a great time. We look forward to having you back again.
Thanks for letting us know your concerns about this home being use a shelter in severe weather. We are going to change our policies and make sure there is a staff member there when we have to use this home as a shelter. This home only gets used for shelter in severe weather, typically tornado warning once or twice a year. We will make sure that it is in all confirmation letters that this is a severe weather shelter. Our office is also use for severe weather shelter the campground and cabins.
We were very lucky that the storms missed us. I could not imagine what the resorts are through up by Gull Lake.
Sincerely,
Paul and Therese Erickson
Camp Holiday Resort & Campground
My family and I rented this property for the weekend and truly enjoyed it. The pictures do not do this rental justice. The home was beautiful, spacious, and had everything we needed. Theresa was super friendly and helpful. She made the check in and check out process easy. We had 6 extra people and 2 dogs and had plenty of space.
Huge home perfect for our extra large group. Lots of space and lots of amenities. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking supplies. Only thing missing was large mixing bowls. Luckily I brought some from home.
Listing was only 20 people max, but we had 26 (with extra fees) and still had plenty of space. We did have lots of kids and a few babies though.
Rental prices of pontoons, canoes etc was very reasonable.
The yard and deck was perfect space for outdoor actors. and parking space was great too!
Check out prep was easy but. vacuum was old so did not pick up very well.
Check out timing was too early at 9am.
11am Would have been better standard like hotels or even later since there was a checklist of cleaning up to do.
Overall experience was wonderful for everyone.
Definitely recommend for large groups.
The house was amazing. Had a great time while we were there and Teresa was very pleasant and easy to work with. Thanks for everything and hope to get back down there soon.

Perfect Amount of Space for our large Group
Camp Holiday is beautiful! The grounds are clean, there is plenty for the kids to do and the Reunion Cabin had plenty of space for our group. Everyone had a great time. I wish the deck was facing the water and we did not have hot water all the time. As soon as we notified Paul he came right away and fixed the problem. The only other thing I noticed was it is very dark at night on the deck steps - I would maybe put rope lighting or solar lights in that area. Also there is no washer and dryer in this unit but there is coin operated facilities in the campground. The Sauna was out of order when we were there. I also though we would have a dock included based on the fees we paid for the cabin. We had a wonderful time, plenty to do and would recommend to all

Annual Family Time
This was our 8th annual family trip to Camp Holiday. Each of our stays has been in the reunion cabin. The cabin fits our needs well, with four families there are 12-16 people that come and go during the week. We have enough bedrooms and beds so that each family has its own "Space" but we are able to be together for the fun. We find the cabin well stocked, the kitchen is fully supplied with almost everything you might need, has a large table in the dining area that is great for meals (if we're not eating outside) and provides a great place for games during the day or at night. There is a TV with a satellite connection which I must admit is seldom on when we are there. A second TV downstairs in the general area may be used a little more when the adults aren't there. There is always hot water, and we don't have to fight for the bathroom (it might be because of the 8 kids under12 7 are boys!) Having the large outdoor area just out the back door for a variety of outdoor games is a plus. When the kids were younger, having the play area there was even better. The kids do appreciate the wi fi (as do the adults) for their games. The beach area is small but the kids like the trampoline and the floating dock as well as swimming after the large contingent of ducks that occasionally swims through . The younger kids find great pleasure in the task of pulling in small sun fish from the dock closest to the cabin. There are many boats, paddle bikes and boards as well as pontoons available for rent and two lakes to explore. On Rainy days (unfortunately there are a few now and then) the game room (recently remodeled and rebuilt) is a favorite destination and we have found that the water park or movie theater in Baxter or Brainerd is only a short drive away. On the clear days, not much beats the sunsets over the lake as viewed from the dock or from the swing that overlooks the lake, unless its the almost nightly family time around a campfire with the loons calling in the backround. We have thoroughly enjoyed out visits to Camp Holiday and especially finding a vacation cabin that was and is big enough to accommodate all the family easily and give us the opportunity to spend time together in a relaxing atmosphere. The coming year will be our 9th.

12 school friends
This was our third year staying at Camp Holiday. We are twelve high school, college friends coming from both Southern and Northern Minnesota. We have been getting together every fall for the past 30 some years.. Camp Holiday is the best. We have more than enough room in the large reunion house. It meets all of our needs. Teresa and Paul are wonderful. We have recommended Camp Holiday to many many other friends. Thanks for a great weekend.

great place!!
We had an incredible time at Camp Holiday, staying in the reunion house. It was large enough for the whole group of 18 and still had some empty beds. Wonderful huge kitchen with all the right tools, and an island to put all of our snacks on. Some played cards early into the morning and the sounds did not carry to the bedrooms, so the ones who wanted to sleep were able to.
Magnificent hiking in the snow covered woods, and a beautiful sunset to finish off an amazing weekend.
Thanks Therese and Paul, we look forward to staying at your place next year

Great Place to stay!!
We love coming to Camp Holiday each year. The reunion house has all the amenities and comforts of home with that great MN feel. Paul and Therese always take great care of us. Perfect place for large groups or big families.
Paul and I have had the joy of raising two children, and we are now blessed with six wonderful grandchildren.
During our off season, we enjoy hunting and ice fishing. These activities not only bring us closer to nature but also allow us to spend quality time with our families. Whether we are out in the woods or on the ice, being together creates lasting memories for all of us.
Why they chose this property
As a child, I grew up on the resort, forming cherished memories that have lasted a lifetime. Years later, Paul and I made the decision to purchase the resort from my parents. Together, we continue the tradition of welcoming guests and providing a warm, inviting environment for everyone to enjoy.
What makes this property unique
This home features a spacious kitchen, dining room, and living room combined into a single open area—perfect for gathering the whole family together. There are plenty of amenities designed to keep everyone entertained, including a large play area outside and a designated firepit space for evenings spent together.
