About this property
Cozy Historic Flat w/ Porch • Walk to Forsyth & All the Savannah Charm
Welcome to the upstairs flat of our beloved Dueling Sisters Inn — a charming 2BR apartment nestled in one of Savannah's most storied 19th-century townhomes, located just blocks from Forsyth Park and within walking distance of everything the Historic District has to offer.
This unit is located on the left side of the twin townhomes lovingly built by a Savannah patriarch for his daughters, Myrtle and Mildred — identical twins with very different personalities. Myrtle was the lively one. A party-thrower. A story-starter. Guests say you can still feel her spirit lingering in this flat — the occasional creak in the hallway, the breeze that stirs the curtains just right. Don’t worry, she’s the fun kind of ghost.
Inside, the apartment blends Savannah's historic charm with comfortable simplicity. The original hardwood floors stretch across two spacious bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed and plenty of room to relax. Between the bedrooms you'll find the living area with cozy seating and a smart TV, plus additional TVs in each bedroom so everyone can unwind their way. There's a full kitchen, stocked with basics and ready for a quiet night in or takeout from one of the many nearby restaurants. A dining table for four makes mealtime easy. We’ve also included an auto-inflate air mattress for extra sleeping needs — just bring your preferred bedding.
Through the back door, you’ll find a private sun deck— perfect for wine, whispers, or reading while listening to the birds in the courtyard garden below. It’s a space for slow mornings and quiet evenings, and it’s one of our favorite features.
Ms. Stacy, our longtime housekeeper and honorary third sister, has seen it all — and her meticulous cleaning and occasional commentary are part of what makes the Dueling Sisters Inn so beloved by return guests. If anything feels out of place, she’ll likely tell you, "That’s just Myrtle playing tricks again."
The home sits in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District, a leafy neighborhood filled with cobblestone streets, moss-draped oaks, and centuries of Southern stories. You’re just a short stroll from Forsyth Park, local cafés, fine dining, ghost tours, shopping on Broughton, and the historic squares that make Savannah so walkable and picturesque.
Stay here, and you’re not just renting a place to sleep — you’re stepping into Savannah’s living history. The home isn’t new or flashy, but it’s full of character, good energy, and Southern soul. It’s a little creaky in places. A little moody in others. But guests return again and again for the magic, the memories, and the mystery of the sisters who once called this place home.
If you listen closely at night, you just might hear Myrtle laughing down the hallway.
