About this property
Pine View Bay, Hvar Island
Clad in wood and blending almost unnoticeably into the luxuriant, scented pine forest of Hvar’s northern coast, Pine View Bay is a meticulously designed, alluring villa boasting boundless sea views, a fabulous 29m² pool, an embarrassment of al fresco riches… all just steps away from a string of paradisiacal beaches. This is the place where refined luxury, stylistic coherence, and a love of life unite to create the ideal home from home for those in search of effortless indoor-outdoor living, space, and unstinting quality.
INSIDE
Accommodation at Pine View Bay is spread over two floors.
The main entrance from the gated private parking area opens into the hallway on the first floor of the villa, from which all the bedrooms flow. Each of the four bedrooms are ensuites, equipped with wardrobes, desks, and smart TVs. The master bedroom is a luminous double-aspect king with inspiring sea views, a freestanding bath tub, an ensuite with double sinks, and access to both a panoramic private terrace and the shared upper terrace. Two of the three remaining bedrooms also each have sea views, and one with its own access to the upper terrace. The third and fourth bedrooms can access this upper terrace via a door at the end of the hallway.
A flight of hardwood stairs leads down to the ground floor, which is home to a generously proportioned open-concept living and dining area. Two pairs of floor-to-ceiling glass doors bring in the glorious sea views and the light and allow guests to move seamlessly between the indoor and outdoor areas.
The DNA of the villa’s overall aesthetic is encapsulated in this tranquil, uncluttered space. Cream-hued stone flooring flows organically out onto the pool terrace, white walls act as a blank canvas for colourful artworks, minimalist designer furniture offers both comfort and curiosity, and integrated lighting outlines and defines the property’s ultra-modern credentials. Sitting in pride of place at the centre, a unique coffee table crafted from a 200-year-old oak tree that once served as a natural salting spot for deer in the forest. Over time, the deer shaped the wood with their constant visits – licking, tearing, and wearing it down – leaving behind organic ridges and cracks. The result is a piece sculpted by wildlife itself. Everything in this home has been meticulously designed and immaculately finished.
At one end of this space is the sleek and extremely well-equipped contemporary kitchen, conveniently located for serving both the indoor and the outdoor dining area.
The remaining rooms at Pine View Bay are found tucked behind the open-plan communal area on this ground floor. Here, you will find a games room equipped with a PlayStation, which is also an ideal space for quiet reading or relaxing; the guest WC, and the laundry room with washer and dryer.
OUTSIDE
Pine View Bay’s al fresco areas are as beautifully finished, as spacious and as well-furnished as the interiors. Three of the bedrooms flow out directly onto the sea-view upper terrace, and there is an abundance of options for those wishing to gather together or to find a private spot in which to read a book, snooze or while away the time reflecting on the gorgeousness of their surroundings.
The living and dining area opens out onto the pool terrace via the two sets of sliding glass walls. The first part of this terrace is a fully-covered dining area equipped with a barbecue, outdoor countertop and sink, and large hardwood table for 8. This is an extremely convivial spot, especially in the evening as dusk turns to night.
At the centre is the amazing 29m² pool, which looks out towards the sea. Under the pool umbrellas, the terrace is furnished with easy chairs and a hanging chair that offer shade, while elsewhere, loungers and beanbag cushions invite sun worshippers to bask in the warming rays.
The master bedroom on the first floor of the villa has its own private terrace, whose views out to sea and over the coastline are bewitching.
The last elements of Pine View Bay’s outdoor area takes the property to yet another level: the path that leads down through the front gardens towards the sea and immediately onto an idyllic, pebbly beach. A few minutes’ walk from this pebbly beach, a sandy one awaits. In fact, the coastal path between the villa and the sea winds past a string of lovely beaches in both directions.
Pine View Bay is only a 15-minute walk along the coastline from the outskirts of Stari Grad town, or 30 minutes to the historic old town. However, just steps away, Maslina Resort’s Terra Restaurant serves up delicious Mediterranean cuisine, while A•Bay Beach Bar is the perfect spot for top-notch coffee, cocktails, and light bites. The resort’s luxurious Pharomatiq Wellness centre invites you to unwind with its spa, massages, saunas, and an array of rejuvenating treatments. All Maslina Resort facilities are available for use to guests of Pine View Bay, subject to request and availability.

About the host
Hosted by Elisha Szczerbinski
Hvar Away founders Elisha & Matt moved to Hvar in 2020, having visited the island only once before. They set out to build a life on this small island by helping others experience its magic. Today, their belief is that the best way of discovering special places is through those who call it home.
Why they chose this property
Pine View Bay is a private villa located in the vicinity of Maslina Resort, two kilometres west from the ancient town of Stari Grad, whose labyrinth of cobbled streets and excellent shops, restaurants, and bars are well worth exploring.
Stari Grad is the oldest town on Hvar and one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe, founded by Greek colonists from Paros in 384 BC. Set deep within a sheltered bay on the island’s northern side, Stari Grad has long been shaped by agriculture, trade, and fishing. Its compact historic core is a tangle of narrow stone streets, small squares, and understated palazzos that reflect centuries of layered history, from Greek and Roman foundations to Venetian influences. Stari Grad has the relaxed air of a place that is comfortably lived-in, with a quiet confidence born from centuries of continuity. Everyday life carries on alongside the history here – market stalls set up beneath Renaissance façades, locals chatting over coffee in squares laid out by ancient Greeks – as if residing in a 2,400-year-old town is simply the norm.
This ancient town is an ideal base for exploring both culture and landscape. A UNESCO-listed heritage site, the Stari Grad Plain, begins just outside town, offering flat walking and cycling routes through vineyards, olive groves, and ancient dry-stone walls. Beaches such as Maslinica, Lanterna, and Bonj are within walking distance with many more in the underrated Stari Grad peninsula within reach by taxi boats. The town’s dining scene favours substance over spectacle, with family-run konobas and fish restaurants passed down over generations. Stari Grad is located next to the ferry port, making arrivals from Split that bit more straightforward.
