Many thanks for taking the time to write this. To be honest, I was very surprised to read this as you never raised any of the issues you mention here with me throughout your stay. This is particularly perplexing as you approached me for assistance on other occasions, e.g. you requested the use of my own laundry machine once or twice a week– which I was happy to provide free of charge. Be that as it may, I would like to address the points you raise. On my side, I think what occurred was perhaps a mismatch of expectations. Upon arrival, your partner commented that she thought that the whole house would be at your disposal. The ad is very clear (the pictures too); we advertise two studios of 40 sq. m In your review, you mention that it was noisy. We are talking about a village of 150 residents – indeed, there is the occasional car, tractor etc. as people actually live in the village, but surely the level of noise does not go beyond what is reasonable in a truly sparsely populated village. Re rooms: the simple reason why you did not get a chance to see another room is simply because they were already booked. As you mentioned, I did show you another larger room (70 sq. metr.) and indeed the price for this was 20 euros more – as it is usually the case, larger spaces tend to be rather more expensive. I would like to mention here that you never complained of the noise – you simply asked to see another room and asked for the price. Had I realised you were not happy with your studio, I would have tried to arrange a mutually agreed price. Re the appliances:, as you may know, the function of an appliance largely depends on its use. I happened to notice – as you asked me for assistance- that there was a lot of water on the kitchen stove – if there’s water they tend to get short-circuited. Similarly, if you use a floor fan 24/7 for several days in a row at some point it will stop working. Re house-keeping: I actually asked you on the first day what your preference was. It was my understanding that you did not wish any housekeeping to be done by us. If there was a misunderstanding, why didn’t you simply let me know? Overall, I am sorry you feel this way – our aim is to have happy guests. This is a family business and we do take care of the place and hope that people can enjoy it. I sincerely wish that you conveyed some of these feeling to me while you were here – we would have done our best to make this a good experience for you.
