Escape to Bluebird Trail Retreat, a serene off-grid haven nestled at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Experience stunning 360-degree panoramic views of dramatic mountain peaks, moody valley skies, and starry nights with all the comforts of home.
Sitting on 8-acres, this private retreat features three comfortable bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, and an outdoor cottage, providing plenty of room to spread out. During your stay, enjoy a private 1-mile walking trail lined with birdhouses for spectacular views, birdwatching, and nature walks.

Solar Power: Please be aware of your energy usage. while the solar system is state of the art and will provide uninterrupted power, we ask that you only use the appliances provided in the house and refrain from using oil heaters or high wattage appliances.
Patio Cottage:
Please be aware that the cottage is not heated. It's perfect most of the year for day use but can get very cold in the winter months Nov-March so please take notice. Thank you for understanding.
Gas and Groceries
Although we are in a remote location, gas and groceries are just a short drive to downtown Crestone. Please keep in mind that local stores close at 7:00 PM, so you will want to plan ahead for your food and supply needs.
Off-Grid Living
We are fully off-grid, powered by a solar and propane system with appliances suited for low wattage. Our backup generator and battery system provide ample power for a family of six.
Winter Heating
The house features a central propane heater that maintains a constant temperature. On colder nights, we recommend lighting a fire to supplement the heat. For your convenience, we provide instructions, firewood, kindling, and firestarters.
