About this property

Brand new luxury home in Playa Grande, steps away from the beach!

Brand new luxury home just steps from the beach in Playa Grande, one of the most special coastal communities in Costa Rica. Known for world-class surf, protected natural beauty, and peaceful uncrowded shoreline, this area blends adventure and tranquility in equal measure.

Casa Ganima is a Mediterranean-inspired 6-bedroom retreat designed for connection, comfort, and effortless group living — ideal for extended families, multi-family trips, milestone celebrations, and high-end work retreats. Located within Las Baulas National Marine Park, the beach is a short, easy walk (about 300 meters) — close enough for sunrise coffee walks and sunset strolls, yet tucked away enough to feel private and secure.

The home centers around a dramatic open gathering space with soaring wood-planked ceilings, soft architectural curves, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Accordion doors open wide to the covered patio and backyard so your group can spread out naturally while still feeling together. There is space to celebrate, space to work, and space to truly unwind.

The chef’s kitchen is built for real cooking and real gatherings, featuring quartzite natural stone counters, custom Laurel cabinetry, a gas stove with hood, refrigerator with ice and water dispenser, garbage disposal, microwave, air fryer, coffee bar, wine cooler, and two dishwashers — a favorite feature for large groups. Custom local teak barstools and dining chairs, plus handcrafted Guanacaste wood dining tables (indoors and out), bring warmth and authenticity to every shared meal.

Throughout the home, you’ll find thoughtfully curated local art and craftsmanship, including Guaitil pottery from a local women’s cooperative, custom Costa Rican furniture pieces, and locally made pool and foosball tables — adding character, story, and a true sense of place.

Outside, the private backyard offers an 11-meter L-shaped saltwater pool with a shallow sun shelf and deep end, outdoor shower, bocce court, covered lounge areas, and multiple gathering zones. The covered patio includes a large grill, prep sink, dining table for 10, overhead fans, pool table, and foosball — designed for day-to-night enjoyment in any weather.

Bedroom suites are spacious and private, with ensuite or nearby baths, blackout curtains, ambient lighting, AC, high-efficiency ceiling fans, and comfortable bedding. Most rooms include desks for remote work, and multiple suites offer outdoor access or upper deck views over the pool and garden. The layout supports both privacy and togetherness — especially valuable for multi-generation stays.

For work retreats and remote professionals, the home is equipped with high-speed Starlink internet (~375 Mbps), providing reliable connectivity for video calls, uploads, and collaborative work sessions — a major advantage in the region. Nearby co-working options and our concierge support make longer working stays easy and productive.

Concierge services are available to simplify your stay, including pre-arrival grocery stocking, private chefs, transportation, rental cars, surf lessons, excursions, and group experiences — all curated around your group’s preferences.

Your stay also includes peace of mind: a modern security system, door and window sensors, gated entry, coordination with local security patrols, and a whole-home water purification system so every tap provides clean, safe drinking water.

Wake early to surf. Walk the beach with coffee. Spot monkeys or coatis along the road. If you’re lucky, witness seasonal sea turtle nesting. Spend afternoons poolside, evenings around the table, and nights under the stars.

Created with intention and care in every detail, Casa Ganima offers what luxury should: comfort, beauty, reliability, and the space to be fully present together.

Hello and welcome to Casa Ganima. This home is the realization of a dream more than 25 years in the making. I first came to this area to study Spanish in nearby beach towns, and I quickly fell in love with the language, the culture, the food, the wildlife, and the rhythm of life by the ocean.

Costa Rica has always been my place to reset and reconnect. The simple moments here are the most meaningful like early morning walks on the beach at sunrise, listening to the waves, spotting monkeys and parrots in the trees, sharing long meals, and spending more time outside than in.

Becoming a host is my way of sharing that feeling with others. Casa Ganima was created to be more than just a place to stay. It’s meant to be a space where families and friends gather easily, where days slow down, and where connection comes naturally.

It brings me so much joy to welcome guests from around the world and help create trips that feel effortless, restorative, and memorable. I’m truly glad you’re here, and I hope you experience the same sense of calm and wonder that made me fall in love with this place years ago.

Why they chose this property

I chose Playa Grande because of its rare balance of protected natural beauty and peaceful living. Being next to Las Baulas National Park means the coastline remains wild, open, and deeply respected. The community here shares a real commitment to preservation.

For me, this neighborhood offers something increasingly rare: space to slow down, connect with nature, and truly unwind without sacrificing comfort or access to food, experiences, and community.

What makes this property unique

Casa Ganima was designed with one purpose in mind: to bring people together beautifully and comfortably. The home is intentionally sized and laid out for extended families, retreats, and groups of friends, with generous gathering spaces balanced by private, restful bedrooms.

The architecture reflects my deep love of nature through soft curves, open sightlines, and seamless indoor–outdoor living. Terracotta floors pay tribute to the traditional Guanacaste hacienda style, grounding the home in local heritage, while bold, vibrant bedroom and bathroom colors echo the energy and biodiversity of Costa Rica.

Nearly every detail was chosen with meaning. The pottery comes from Guaitil, Costa Rica’s historic pottery community, crafted by a local women’s cooperative. Much of the furniture was custom made locally, including teak barstools, dining chairs, and game tables. The large Guanacaste wood dining tables, inside and out, serve as natural gathering points for shared meals and conversation. Original regional art throughout the home celebrates surf, wildlife, and coastal life.

At the same time, the home is thoroughly modern in comfort: a chef-style kitchen with premium appliances and custom cabinetry, high-speed internet suitable for remote work retreats, whole-house purified water, curated lighting, and thoughtful flow between kitchen, patio, pool, and gathering spaces.

What makes this property stand out is not just that it is brand new and luxurious, but that it is personal, anchored in local heritage, and purposefully designed to help guests connect with each other and with Costa Rica itself.
