The "Wald-See-Glück" house is a true natural idyll. Surrounded by tall pine trees, you can watch squirrels and dormice scampering from tree to tree while enjoying a magnificent view of the Hohenwarte Reservoir, whose shoreline and beach area are about 200 metres away.
Our “Glückshütte” was completely renovated and modernised by March 2020. Guests can now enjoy a comfortably furnished, first-class bungalow with a shower and toilet. Depending on their preference, guests can heat the cottage using either a wood-burning stove or infrared panel heaters. The living-dining area offers a magnificent view of the lake and features a dining nook and a “cosy corner” with a sleeper sofa. There is also a separately heated bedroom with a double bed and a closet. The bedroom has a window facing the forest with a mosquito screen. The kitchen or kitchenette is comfortably equipped and features a combination oven with microwave, a glass-ceramic cooktop, a fridge-freezer, and a dishwasher. Additionally, a coffee maker, a Nespresso machine, a kettle, and a toaster are provided. We are particularly proud of our bathroom with a shower and toilet. A highlight is the balcony overlooking the lake and the patio with a grill. The house is ideal for 2–3 people. On cooler days, our guests appreciate the wood-burning fireplace. Bagged firewood can be purchased upon request for a fee. A Thuringian grill is available. Please bring your own charcoal.
The area around the Thuringian Sea offers numerous opportunities for relaxation and sports activities:
Fishing, cycling, mountain biking, hiking, canoeing or kayaking, sailing, swimming, scuba diving (diving school nearby), surfing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), … everything is possible here.
