It is also only ten kilometres to the idyllic county seat of Korbach with its historic old town, a good 30 kilometres to the winter sports resort of Willingen, and 17 kilometres to Lake Twistesee. The cycling trail runs through Höringhausen along the former railway line from Korbach to Affoldern on Lake Eder. <br>Shopping: Höringhausen has a village store with a bakery and all basic groceries. In the neighbouring town of Sachsenhausen (4 km away), there are ALDI, LIDL, and EDEKA stores with a drink market, as well as a pharmacy. Höringhausen has two quaint pubs and a good pizzeria with a snack bar (döner, currywurst). A physiotherapy practice is located on the ground floor of the building.
