Very reminicent of a pla e we had in Northern Italy, complete tranquilityhosted by a very interesting multilingual gentleman. We would go again and highly recomend this place to anyone. One critisism the photos dont do it justice,,, its much much better

Perfect!

Clean white semi-detached house with sea views

Perfect base from which to discover Western Sicily. Lovely little house set in swishing palm trees surrounded by quiet market gardens within walking distance of shops, good restaurants and beaches. Without being luxurious, the house and fittings are designed to meet all the basic needs. Well suited for children. Ciro, the owner epitomises Siciliam hospitality and is never far away to answer all your enquiries. A bottle of Sicilan wine awaits you on the table as you arrive. Ideal for visiting Palermo, Trapani, Egadi Islands, Zingaro, Segesta, Erice, Marsala and even Agrigente or Cefalu.

Perfect place to stay for a family

This was our second visit in Villa Solemare. It was really nice place to stay in 2012 and it's getting only better. The owner is making improvements constantly, added fence and gate, now it's very safe to leave kids playing outside, also upgraded some furniture, kitchen equipment, put gas balloon outside for safety, also very nice barbecue which we have tried :) The location is really perfect, very near to city center and the sea, just few minutes drive by car, also very convenient to explore the whole western part of Sicily and the capital - Palermo, but at the same time it's a little outside and very calm. This property is perfect for family with small kids, there's not so many places with such nice and big fenced garden and the whole play area. The rooms are nice and clean, the bathroom is spacious, and the kitchen has everything you need and is really convenient. And I must mention the host - Ciro, who is very kind and helpfull. He really takes care of his guests in all aspects, like delivering baby bed for our small son when we needed one, helping to plan a day trip to Palermo with his maps and welcome bottle of house wine on a table among the others. The living is really easy in Villa Solemare and it makes you wanna return there once more. And I'm sure we will :)

Perfect !!!

We spent at Villa Solemare one wonderful week. The house is very well equipted, with all necessary things for holidays,even beach umbrella. It is essential to mention kids playground with sand box and even toys, swings and slide hill. Our daughter spent all free time there. About Mr. Ciro - I could say only the best words. Thanks to him we had beutiful time. He fluently speaks english, so he told us about all sightseeing around Balestrate. Beah is absolutely great, clean sand, warm and clear water - ideal for small kids. Thank you one more time, for our amazing holidays. Bella Balestrate , Bellisima villa Solemare,

We just came back from Sicily and had a great time. We stayed at Villa Solemare and enjoyed every moment of it.In our opinion the villa has everything you need to have a relaxing time .It is well equipped and the garden was just perfect for our small kids. The beautiful sandy beach of the is within 10 minutes walk and was just perfect for our young kids as the water depth doesn't start until a good few meters from the shore. In our opinion the most important thing one needs when going abroad is a good host , and surely Ciro is a great one. He is a true sicilian gentleman , helpful and ready to accommodate your needs. We found Si ilians to be friendly people and helpful towards tourist. Balestrate is a small town where you can enjoy night markets and good restaurant at very inviting prices. ( try Sapori di Mare if you like fish dishes) . It's location makes it very easy to reach places like Palermo and Trapani. We would recommend you hire a car prior to your arrival , and explore the beautiful Sicily . All in all we had a great time and will definitely return to Sicily in the nears future. Grazie Ciro for the lovely time .

Welcome to the «Villa Solemare»

A pretty little house near of several interesting sites to visit. The house is very clean with all the services that we need. The property is in a closed garden very secured. The landlord is always ready to help us. Note that he speaks french, englih, german and italian necescerely. We spent an extraordinary month and we keep a very good «souvenir» of the landlord «Ciro», René Ducharme Québec, Canada

House away from Beach and not really Sea view !

Just come back from Sicily where we was rent this House for a week.House itself was clean inside and got all you need for cooking and space for a car but the position was far away from the town and Beach as well and the Sea view you can only have when you stand on the outside parapet .The Town of Balestrate is small and is nothing to do there.Beach there was very dirty and no one was there apart from old dog!We recommend rent a car as we did and been to see like Reservate of Zingaro and Scapello where are beautiful view and clear water then the best and really clean Beach was in SAN VITO LO CAPO which is about 60km away but is worth drive there as the See water is very clear and warm with nearly white sand and nice view on Mountains - are kids enjoyed and we too.

The most relaxing holiday ever

We spent 2 weeks during early June in Villa Solemare, and we really enjoyed every minute of that stay. We were just a short walk from the beach and town, although we hired a car for our stay and were able to visit Segesta, Marsala, Erice, Alcamo and other places nearby. The Villa is central for everyday necessaties, but also laid back enough from main routes to make it a very quiet and peaceful location. Our host Ciro was excepionally friendly, speaking very good english und prima deutsch, and always concerned about the well-being of his guests, without being "in your face" . The villa was very clean and looked just like the photos shown on the internet with air-con available, internet wi-fi, a good kitchen area for preparing meals, plus a barbeque at the rear of the property. The covered patio means you can enjoy all your meals outdoors, whatever the weather. This really was a holiday to remember, at the end of the 2 weeks we would have loved to have enjoyed a 3rd week. We will definitely return to Sicily for a holiday and we would definitely consider Villa Solemare as our holiday destination. Thank you Ciro for a lovely, relaxing holiday, we will be back. Your friendliness as a host must ensure that previous guests will want to return.

Very nice place in a beautiful environment

We enjoyed our stay for 12 nights in this very nice place. the house has a lovely sea view, a big garden surround by olive trees and a nice terrace where you can sit in te shade all day. The house is very clean with a livingroom, 2 bedrooms a bathroom and a kitchen, its just everything you need. Ciro, the owner is a very gently men, who will help you with anything you need. From the house you can walk to Balestrate and the beach. Its a sporty walk though, but certainly worthwhile. Balestrate is a lovely town, with some restaurants, bars and little shops. We visit Balestrate during the low season, so there was not a lot to do. The environment and the beach are beautiful. A clear blue sea and sandy beaches. If you want to see more of the environment and visit other places, then is renting a car a must. We had a great 12 days in this nice place!

Mooi huisje in een prachtige omgeving

We hebben 12 dagen genoten in dit mooie huisje. Uitzicht op zee, een grote tuin vol met olijfbomen, een terras waar je de hele dag heerlijk in de schaduw kan zitten.Een woonkamer, 2 slaapkamers, een keuken, en een badkamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Ciro, de eigenaar, was zeer vriendelijk en hielp ons waar nodig was. Vanaf het huisje kan je lopen naar Balestrate en het strand, dit is wel een sportieve wandeling van ongeveer een kwartier. Balestrate is een klein plaatsje met verschillende restaurants, winkeltjes en cafe's. Wij zaten hier in het laagseizoen en er was niet heel veel te doen in het plaatsje zelf. De omgeving en het strand zijn prachtig. Een helder blauwe zee en zandstranden. Wil je meer van de omgeving zien en andere plaatsen bezoeken dan is het huren van een auto een aanrader.

Very Nice family appartment

Thank you to Ciro for such a great holiday. A brilliant host who speaks excellent english. Your accomodation was great, very clean, and your pride in the Villa shines through. All equipment at hand including a good washing machine makes this a great place for a family or a couple to stay. A car is recommended if you want to see more than Ballestrate although it is a lovely town with great beach, and lovely piaza with coffee shops, bakers, supermarkets, and restraunts. The villa is very quiet and about 10 mins walk from the town and beach. Sicily is very Beautiful and the people wonderful and very friendly. Thank you, we will be visiting again as soon as possible.

Relaxing holiday, july 2010

we stayed for a week in this very nice place. The house is very clean, and there is everyhting you need to have a nice holiday.The beach is very good for swimming and snorkelling. The owner is very helpful,friendly and he speaks a very good english. You can stay whitout a car, but if you want to see anything else but Balestrate, a car would be essential.

1 Week stay

I stayed at this villa for 1 week in June, sharing with friends and found this to be a great place to go if you want peace and quiet and good weather. The villa is 10 minute walk to the local supermarkets, restaurants and sandy beaches, suitable for swimming and snorkelling. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There is a good place in the town centre to book trips to local places of interest. The Villa itself is very clean and comes with air con in the main living area. Everything you need is there to do your own cooking including a BBQ and all appliances were in good working order.

Relaxing Villa by the sea

We have just got back from week at the Villa (early June 2010). We had a lovely relaxing time. The Villa was very clean and secure and the kitchen was well equipt with everything we needed. The BBQ gave it a nice touch for evenings in. The sea is visible from the garden The air conditioning in the living room made it more comfortable and I presume a necessity later on in the summer!!!! The beach and town centre of Belestrate is about a 15 minute walk - although a very steep hill down to the beach - but worth it! I would recomend this villa for anyone wanting a quiet relaxing holiday, and it is an ideal base to explore the north west of the island - although if you plan on exploring a car would be essential. Ciro, the villa owner was very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. I would happily book this villa again! Emma-Jane & Simon

Logement idéal pour Découverte côte nord ouest

Ciro est toujours disponible et de bons conseils ! C’est le petit plus du logement qu’on ne peut deviner avec l’annonce. Une semaine dans le logement de Ciro avec notre bébé d’un an. Tous les équipements à disposition pour les enfants. Le jardin est très bien équipé et la piscine est top. Nous recommandons le logement.

Zona esterna fantastica

Abbiamo soggiornato una settimana a luglio nell’alloggio del sig. Ciro, che è stato cordiale, disponibile e molto discreto. L’alloggio non è grande ma ha tutto ciò che serve a una famiglia di 4 persone e uno spazio esterno da favola: prato verdissimo, piscina, sabbiera con giocattoli, scivolo e altalene, amaca e un patio dove abbiamo consumato pressochè ogni pasto. La spiaggia, adatta a bambini che non sanno nuotare e amando la sabbia, è vicina, raggiungibile in pochi minuti d’auto e nel circondario c’è molto da visitare. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è soddisfacente. Merita davvero!

Urlaub bei Ciro

Wir durften zwei Wochen in Ciros wunderschönen Oase verbringen. Die Villa Solemare ist wirklich super schön und sehr gepflegt. Ciro kümmert sich jeden Morgen um den Garten und Pool. Die Ausstattung lässt kaum Wünsche übrig.Ich hätte es noch super gefunden eine Spülmaschine zu haben, vor allem weil wir doch ein paar dreckige Tassen und auch Besteck von den Vormietern vorgefunden hatten. Ansonsten ist es aber einfach perfekt und ich wusste im vorhinein auch schon, dass es keine Spülmaschine gibt. Ciro ist eine super angenehme Person, der bei jeder Frage sofort mit Antwort zur Stelle steht. Balestrate ist ein schöner Ort, in dem immer etwas los war. Der Strand war ein Träumchen. Flacher Einstieg ins Wasser - perfekt für Kinder.

Schöner Aufenthalt

Die Unterkunft bot alles was eine Familie mit Kindern im Urlaub gebrauchen kann. Der Pool so wie der Sandkasten und der kleine Spielplatz war perfekt für unsere Kinder. Mit dem Auto ist man schnell an einem schönen Naturstrand, der nicht so sehr überlaufen ist. Die Wohnung an sich ist sauber und gepflegt. Wir konnten an manchen Tagen etwas kochen, das war sehr praktisch. Ciro der Gastgeber war täglich im Garten und hat ihn sowie den Pool sauber gehalten und gepflegt. Alles in allem war es ein schöner Aufenthalt auf Sizilien. Grazie

Posto stupendo

Casa pulita e molto ben attrezzata con tutto il necessario. La posizione, tranquilla e con vista mare, è superideale per chi vuole esplorare questa parte stupenda della Sicilia. Abbiamo girato tanto in macchina e visto tanti bei posti tra Cefalú e Selinunte. Abbiamo apprezzato molto la piscina e i bambini adoravano tuffarsi prima che siamo di partiti la mattina o al ritorno la sera. Stupendo e curatissimo anche il bellissimo giardino, ideale per rilassarsi. Bella anche la spiaggia di Balestrate, che dista pochi minuti ed essendo di sabbia è molto ideale per i bambini. A Balestrate si trova tutto il necessario, tra supermercato, fruttivendolo e macellaio, oltre cafè, ristoranti e pizzerie. Grazie a Ciro, che è sempre disponibile e per i suoi buoni consigli! È stata una vancanza bellissima e ci torneremo di sicuro!

Entspannter Familienurlaub

Entspannt und wirklich ganz wunderbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Auch unser Hund ist auf seine Kosten gekommen. Unsere Tochter ist noch unter 1 Jahr alt, aber für ältere Kinder gibt es so viele Möglichkeiten, sich zu beschäftigen. Wirklich ganz fantastisch!

Klare Empfehlung, alles perfekt!

Ciro ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber - er hat uns ganz tolle Tipps für Ausflüge in der Umgebung gegeben, Restaurants empfohlen und war stets behilflich, egal was wir brauchten. Da er länger in Deutschland gelebt hat, ist sein Deutsch makellos. Die Wohnung ist einfach, hat aber alles was man braucht. Bei dem großen und sehr gepflegten Garten verbringt man ohnehin die meiste Zeit draußen; mit einem kleinen Spielplatz und viel Rasenfläche ideal für Kinder und Eltern, die sich auf der Sonnenliege entspannen wollen. Das Highlight ist der Pool, den Ciro jeden Morgen sauber macht und der zu jeder Zeit zum Baden einlädt. Balestrate ist ein netter kleiner Ort, der alles bietet was man braucht - viele Restaurants, ein paar Einkaufsläden und auch der Strand ist groß und fällt für die Kids flach ab. Dazu kommt, dass man vom Flughafen in 25 Minuten im Ort ist. Wir können Ciro als Gastgeber und seine tollen Ferienwohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen und werden ganz sicher wiederkommen.

Der Aufenthalt bei Ciro war für uns perfekt. Die Unterkunft hat alles, was wir uns als Familie wünschen. Ausreichend Platz, einen wunderbaren Garten mit Pool und Spielplatz für die Kinder. Ciro stand uns jederzeit zur Verfügung und hat uns mit Tipps über Sizilien und der nahen Umgebung versorgt. Perfekt war ebenfalls die Lage, ca. 15 Minuten Fußweg zum sehr schönen Strand und in den Ort Balestrate für das Eis oder die Pizza zwischendurch. Wir würden jederzeit wieder bei Ciro buchen!
