Over all this unit was in good condition. A few mishaps was the pocket door to the master bath was not working, but maintenance came out the next day to fix it. There was only one set of working batteries for 20 remotes. The outdoor chairs have seen better days. Some of the bed pillows need to be replaced due to staining and being old. The vents in the unit can use a serious dusting. You need to make sure the fridge door is closed properly, because it will pop back open. I will admit this room is a huge improvement the last time we stayed at the Emerald Grand. We stay at this property several times a year and this was a good unit over all. Just needs a little TLC for my OCD…

The room was nice, with great views. The check in process was HORRIBLE. We received our key at 4pm check in time. Only to go to the room, have to stand in the hallway with our luggage and toddlers for 30 minutes, while the room was still being cleaned. No compensation or delayed checkout for that time. (Yet, I did receive a “courtesy reminder” that check OUT time was for 10am.) The tv would not stay connected to the internet, so in order to watch tv, my husband had to use his personal hotspot, or it wouldn’t work. Communicated this to the host. I was told to go sign a form, at the front desk, that the front desk knew nothing about. After they found out it was at the security station, I was told to walk to security, outside the building, around the corner, make a left, etc! (On my short stay) So basically we had no television in the living room. There is no shuttle access with this room, so we had to drive to a beach, only to find no parking.. So overall the location as far as being in the center of Harbor Walk was great for entertainment.. Not so great if you want to actually go to Destin for the blue water, white sand beach.. So I wouldn’t waste the money to stay here again.
