This spacious, light-filled attic apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the Posthalterhof, a building over 300 years old, and can accommodate up to 6 people. The 155-square-meter apartment has been recently renovated and tastefully blends antique and modern elements. With two new bathrooms and ceiling heights of up to 6 metres, it offers a unique atmosphere. The open-concept kitchen adjoins the dining and living area, which features a large dining table, a couch, a wood-burning stove, and a flat-screen TV for relaxing together. The third bedroom (maisonette) is accessible via a staircase from the living room. All rooms have Wi-Fi. Alexa is also available.

Guests staying in the Burg Maisonette have access to the large outdoor terrace, which features a big table and a private grill. The terrace is located one floor below and borders the vast garden, which, situated on a hillside, offers a magnificent view of Blankenheim Castle.
For Christmas 2021, we opened our new sauna area for all guests at the Posthalterhof. In our large garden, there is a vaulted cellar—approximately 500 years old—built into the rock. Here, our guests can relax in an extraordinary atmosphere in the sauna—which accommodates up to 6 people—and in the hot tub. And in the secluded outdoor area, in the covered lounge corner with a fire pit, they can listen to music and enjoy the view of the castle.
Note: The apartment is located on the 2nd floor and is accessible only via 2 flights of stairs. Dogs are welcome here.



The Posthalterhof, built in 1683 by the House of Thurn und Taxis, has been renovated with great attention to detail and offers an exceptional ambiance within its historic walls. Antique furniture and modern amenities in the bedrooms, the newly renovated bathrooms, and the fully equipped, open-concept kitchens are stylishly combined. Additionally, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with Netflix & Prime, and Alexa devices are available in the dining and living rooms.
In addition to the ground floor (a historic landmark), which can be rented for up to 8 people, the attic (Burg Maisonette) accommodates up to 6 people. On the ground floor, there are 4 apartments, each ideally suited for 2 people. The Ahrquelle apartment offers a cosy bedroom and living area with a small kitchenette and bathroom in approximately 25 square metres. The Georgstor apartment, at approximately 55 square metres, also features a couch, a large kitchenette, and a spacious bathroom. The two newly renovated apartments, Jakobsweg and Eifelsteig, have direct access through a door inside the apartment to their own small terrace with a dining table and grill. The Jakobsweg apartment, at approximately 35 square metres, has a studio-style layout thanks to its separate double bed and large couch. The Eifelsteig apartment, at approximately 30 square metres, features a cosy bedroom and living area with large armchairs for relaxing. Dogs are welcome here.

Guests staying on the ground floor have their own terrace with a large table and grill. Guests staying in the attic have access to the garden on the ground floor, which features a terrace and a large table with a grill. Guests staying in the “Ahrquelle” or “Georgstor” apartments can also use the terrace in the garden, which is equipped with dining tables and a grill.

Use of the wellness area is free of charge and can be booked by our guests for a few hours a day.
Two private parking spaces are located right next to the Posthalterhof on the ground floor for guests. Above the garden area, three additional private parking spaces are available. Bicycles and motorcycles can also be parked securely.
Additional important information:
There are a few steps inside the ground-floor apartment. The 4 apartments for 2 people are located on the ground floor and can be accessed via the old staircase in the hallway or the staircase from the courtyard. The Burg Maisonette holiday apartment is on the second floor and features many exposed beams. Due to its character and construction, our house is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
