About this property

Bright, spacious modern studio with stunning bay views

Located on the hillside above Zihuatanejo Bay, our apartment studio is an oasis for adults (12 years & older only) with spectacular bay views. The studio is 1 of a 6 studio complex. The property has ample garden space and native trees provide plenty of privacy and promote relaxation. Our location is within walking distance (about 20 -25 minutes) to La Ropa beach although some guests prefer to take one of the reasonably priced taxis that are ready available.

The studio is the highest on the property, perfect for sunset cocktails and birdwatching. It is located toward the back of our property and requires climbing 2 sets of stairs. It has a beautiful outdoor shower surrounded by palms and a large private terrace with hammock & adirondack style chairs that invite you to lounge the day away.

The spacious studio has 1 king-size bed and a sofa that can be converted to a single bed to accommodate a maximum of 3 guests. There is a closet, generously sized bathroom & closet/desk space. The suite has a modern pullman style kitchen with two burner gas stove, coffeemaker, sink, toaster oven, full size refrigerator, cookware, glassware & utensils.

The room is designed with ample windows to take full advantage of the blissful breezes coming off the bay but also has ceiling fans and A/C to ensure your personal comfort.

In order to fully enjoy the tranquility of our tropical Mexican retreat we do not have phones or TVs in the rooms however complimentary fiber optic WIFI is available.

The palapa area, infinity pool and sundeck are shared among only 6 studios ensuring that you never feel crowded. Shared spaces are for use of registered guests only. Maid service is provided 2 days a week with a change of towels & sheets.

There is no meal service available but two restaurants are open for dinner within a 10 minute walk.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Solana! The studio was clean and private with a stunning view of the bay. We enjoyed breakfast overlooking the garden with the parrots, hummingbirds, lovebirds, and other native birds. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful and made us feel welcomed. We highly recommend this property!

Vacation of a life time

This property is beautifully located in the surrounding hills of Zihuantanejo and is a wonderfully kept up with kind and helpful employees. Claudia is the best, always ready to assist in anyway she can. She is a keeper and we love.

Wonderful Stay

We loved our stay at the Solana. The owners took amazing care of us. especially our first night when we got in late. They were able to help us find some food and a couple of beers easily so we could relax the second we arrived. Everything about this place is relaxing and calming. Our room was perfect and I loved the outdoor shower. Anyone looking to have a quiet stay to recharge, this is your place.

Stunning and natural

Everything about this vacation was 5/5. Our host was informative, helpful and so lovely. The gardens lush, the room clean, fresh and natural, the breakfast and maintenance staff friendly and sweet. We had personal access to a driver who took us on tours. Restaurants were within. Hilly short walk away. The place itself was away (set on a beautiful mountainside above Las Gatas Beach) from the hustle and bustle of La Ropa but only a 5 min taxi ride away. The infinity pool and lounge deck was welcomed when you wanted to stay in. Amazing and would recommend this place to anyone!

Incredible Experience

This is the second time I've stayed here and it is just a gem in the Zihua area. It's super convenient to Los Gatos beach and a 5min taxi to town. You get a nice secluded feel from this house with spectacular views of the bay. The staff is absolutely wonderful. I rent the entire place and bring my family. It's an exceptional value.

Beautiful, friendly, clean B&B

We've been coming to Zihuatanejo for 9 years and we've always stayed at the same place. This year we decided to try something new and found this wonderful new B&B!! The B&B is beautiful and clean, the rooms are large and airy, the view is spectacular (and different from any we've seen in Zihua), and the pool is clean and refreshing. The owners/staff are really what makes this place special though. They are very friendly and accommodating, have an extensive knowledge of the area and can make great food recommendations for any budget! DO NOT miss their happy hour - both drinks and snacks (homemade hummus and red pepper dip) are amazing!! We cannot wait to come back next year!

A Definate Return Stay!

Casa Solana is a perfect location in Zihuatanejo for panoramas of the bay and the town while being in a restful, attentive environment. Every room is carefully appointed in soothing soft colors. The breakfasts are delicious and the staff very kind. The owners are there and available when needed. Wonderful for a family's special holiday together as much as a single person or a couple. No muss, no fuss....just a great time!

Very scenic and beautiful place to stay with a relaxed, comfortable feel

Really enjoyed my visit! Spent some time in the infinity pool everyday and visited the nearby ocean beach of "Los Gatos". The site, itself, is very scenic and overlooks Zihuatanejo Bay. The rooms are clean, stylish, and most have private open air showers which was an unexpected bonus for me. This place is a good value.

Why they chose this property

The studio has a stunning view to the Zihuatanejo bay and across the bay to the town of Zihuatanejo. We love watching the activity in the bay, fishing boats, windsurfing & whales. We are close enough for easy access to the beaches and city but far enough away to escape the crowds and traffic.

What makes this property unique

Apart from the awe inspiring view, we incorporated many environmentally friendly features into our project including grey water recycling to irrigate our gardens. Built on less than a third of our land, we have ample garden space and preserved many local trees. We created Solana as a place to relax, to enjoy the natural surroundings and escape the frantic pace of modern life.
