The Beautiful Hinterland – Scenery Around Lake Wolgast “We linger at the sunny edge of the forest and enjoy the view across the small Lake Wolgast, vast lowland bogs, meadows, and rapeseed fields, as well as small, enchanting villages. The idyllically situated, enchanting little village of Korswandt lies on the edge of the Usedom Island Nature Park, where a wide variety of habitats thrive in a compact area. Here you’ll discover expansive fens, beaches, inland coastlines, and even gentle cliffs. The extensive beech and dune pine forests are particularly striking. The island is one of Germany’s most bird-rich areas. White-tailed eagles, white storks, cranes, and grey herons nest in the nature park. The eutrophic shallow lakes, such as Lake Gothen, Lake Wolgast, and Lake Schmollensee, serve as ideal resting and nesting sites for the birds. 
Nestled among the hills of the Pomeranian Ridge lie the “Seven Lakes”: to the left is Lake Gothen with its Thorbruch, behind it the elongated Lake Schmollensee, and ahead of us, one after the other, the two Krebsseen, which are significantly smaller than the other two. Lake Schloon is harmoniously nestled between the two Krebssees and the Baltic Sea. Through the haze of a summer day, we can make out another body of water beyond Lake Schmollensee: the Achterwasser. Waving fields of grain, not too densely planted, sheltered by the hills. Close to Lake Wolgast, in one of the most scenically diverse and still largely unspoiled areas of the island of Usedom, lies your holiday home. It is connected to the seaside resort of Ahlbeck by beautiful old forests. The beach is about seven kilometres away, and shopping facilities are approximately five kilometres away.
The area offers ideal conditions for hikers, cyclists, skaters, and anglers.
