About this property

Stewart Cottage Beautiful Beachfront 6 Bedroom/4 Bath Home. Accommodates 12

This home has 6BR/4Baths. The master bedroom is downstairs and has a king bed and full bath. Downstairs has 2BR with 2 twin beds in each and 1BR with a full bed and bath with shower(no tub). There is also a main bath on this floor. Upstairs has 2BR with 2 twin beds in one bedroom, 1 king bed in the other and a main bath. There is also a sitting room upstairs with windows across the front for a beautiful view of the ocean.
Downstairs has an open living/dining/ kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, coffee maker, stove/oven and refrigerator. All utensils and cookware provided.
Additional amenities include washer/dryer, cable TV, and WiFi. There is a private patio in the back and a charcoal grill is available.
Linens and bath towels are provided as well.
Beach chairs and beach towels are NOT provided.
There is no longer direct access to the beach from the house, but boardwalk access to the beach is a short walk away.
This home has been in our family for over 50 years. We like to refer to it as 'Our little piece of Heaven.' This is an older home and we are constantly trying to upgrade when we can. We feel it is competitively priced due to age of the home.
We offer monthly rates for Jan.- March. Rate is based on availability of at least 28 days.

Cozy Jekyll Stay

We had a cozy and memorable stay in this charming home—it felt just like visiting a relative’s house for the summer. I stayed with my husband, our child, our parents, and my brother, and we all felt right at home. The beach is a short, easy walk away, and the area is quiet and peaceful day and night. We stayed in an older home on Jekyll Island and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect. You can see the ocean right from the property, and beach access is just a short walk via the designated boardwalks and stairs. It’s about a two-minute stroll on a bike path to reach the sand. At night, the view of the stars and solar system is incredible.The home itself is older, as mentioned, but very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was ideal for our three-generation family and our four-legged member. The beach was quiet, peaceful, and exactly what we were hoping for. We were able to fish both from the beach and from the pier just a few miles away.We’re already planning our next visit. It was a wonderful trip for my family!

In serious need of update in most aspects. Refrigerator has rust all over front, icemaker does not work. Cabinets with no doors, dressers in bedrooms with no knobs. Dining room table chairs stained very bad. Couches and chairs are very old. Refrigerator was full of opened condiments from previous guests and about 20 can drinks left in refrigerator leaving very little room for out stuff. Door to the downstairs double room door does not lock, only has a chain lock on it. Sliding doors didn’t lock, had wooden sticks in tracks to lock. Shower door upstairs rusty, mildew in shower. Sink drained very slowly. Lamps in king downstairs would notReach an outlet. Closet doors missing in most bedrooms. Paint peeling on many walls. We realize it’s a 1957 house but needs major renovation, which we’re not obvious from the online pictures. I would not stay here again and definitely NOT what I expected from a VRBO rental. The AC worked great and location was very convenient.

Great Location

I can’t say enough about the owner Jim and his extra efforts in working with me! The location was great and the house was very spacious for our group with six bedrooms and 4 baths. The location is front row to the beach and had a large second story Sun Room with a great view. I highly recommend this property to anyone with a large group.
