About this property

Luxury vacation home by the river · wheelchair accessible · sauna

Renkenmühle on the Jagst: Luxury holiday home right on the river with 7 bedrooms, en suite bathrooms, a sauna house, a fireplace, and a barrier-free ground floor. Holiday home on the Jagst—you can’t get any closer to the river than this.
Experience a spacious holiday home—the 7 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms create a hotel-like atmosphere. This newly built holiday home offers every luxury, including a living area with a wood-burning stove, a loft with a high-quality foosball table, and a large panoramic sauna overlooking the river. In the spacious kitchen with a wine refrigerator, you can prepare—or have someone prepare—the most wonderful meals with your group. There’s a fenced-in garden and a stunning, covered outdoor terrace offering a unique view of the river.
The ground floor of the holiday home is barrier-free with no steps.
You’ll be greeted by large letters on the concrete wall—renkenmühle. The house appears closed off from the entrance side but opens up on the river side with large windows facing the garden. The Renkenmühle is a nature-filled retreat for large families, friends, seminars, or groups who value the luxury of a hotel but prefer a more personal and intimate atmosphere. It’s a wonderful place to retreat from the world for a while with family or friends.
At the centre is a large, wheelchair-accessible space divided into different zones: a living area by the fireplace, a living area by the panoramic window, and the kitchen and dining area with two long tables that seat up to 16 people. From here, you can step out onto a glass-roofed terrace. All bedrooms feature a wall-mounted writing desk by Müller Möbelwerkstätten.
Outside, you’ll find a 1,000-square-meter property that borders the Jagst River along its longest side. The enchanting garden by the water invites you to relax in a hammock or enjoy cosy barbecue evenings. Various garden and patio areas are at your disposal. Along the riverbank, you’ll find numerous places to sit and lounge. There’s also a covered and fenced-in patio right next to the house. Even small children can play here safely. Please note, however, that while the property is fenced off on the street side, it remains open towards the Jagst River.
The property also features a lockable bike storage room with 8 free e-bike charging stations.
The Renkenmühle has a lot to offer:

A fabulous holiday home for your family gatherings—what could be better than cooking together with the family? In a perfectly equipped kitchen that leaves nothing to be desired (see Live Cooking). Here, you can prepare everything from a simple picnic by the river to a festive meal for the whole family. The covered terrace also features tables and chairs for 16 people. During the colder months, the fireplace in the living area and the sauna high above the river create the perfect atmosphere and cosiness. Kids love the first-floor lounge with its foosball table and another flat-screen TV. The outdoor area has everything everyone could want. Children under 2 years of age at the time of travel stay for free.
A nature-loving retreat From the very beginning—starting with the construction on the old walls of the former mill, through the selection of building materials, to the craftsmen hired—a focus was placed on regionality. The Renkenmühle continues the tradition of hydropower with a Francis shaft turbine. The electricity generated powers the holiday home, and any excess is fed into the public power grid. The house is heated by an air-source heat pump that powers the underfloor heating. Thanks to the decentralized ventilation system, fresh air is constantly supplied to the interior of the house.

Accessible Ground Floor The ground floor of the Renkenmühle is fully accessible with no steps. It features a bedroom with a senior-friendly bed, an accessible closet, and a spacious, accessible shower room with grab bars. The sink is wheelchair-accessible. All doors here are 95 cm wide. The front door and patio door can be accessed without steps. The entrance steps can be accessed via an electric lift.
Venue for business meetings and seminars: inspiring nature, relaxation in the panoramic sauna, cooking together in the high-end kitchen, and overnight stays by the river. Book this multifunctional business retreat, featuring two tables in front of the large flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi (HIGH-SPEED INTERNET Starlink by Elon Musk), a flip chart available upon request, a spacious kitchen for cooking together, 2 Miele ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 refrigerators, a wine fridge, a separate lounge with a foosball table, a stunning outdoor area with a rooftop terrace, a covered porch, a lawn for sunbathing, and access to the river. We offer a special rate for midweek bookings only. Please
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

A 90th birthday celebration!

We celebrated my father-in-law's 90th birthday in Germany as he wanted to visit some of the places he explored in his 20's during his time in the US Army. Our family group of 14 traveled from all over the US to come to Germany and we wanted to find a place large enough for us to explore the surrounding areas including Heidelberg, Rothenberg, and Stuttgart, so this place fit the bill. The home is very modern, open, clean and large. With 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, it was perfect for our group of 14. The home is located by a beautiful little river and that provided some picturesque views of the hills and river. The kitchen was well stocked including two dishwashers and lots of fridge and freezer spaces which was ideal for a large group. The open concept living room, dining room, kitchen set was perfect for everyone to be together, but still having their own spaces. The large glass doors in that space opened to a nice shaded patio which we enjoyed day and night as well as the BBQ one evening. All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay. One thing I would point out is the lack of screens on any windows or doors, no ceiling fans and no AC. It was quite hot during our stay, but did cool off at night, but it was difficult to sleep most evenings without any ventilation in the rooms. We had to choose whether to keep the windows open in the rooms which attracted a ton of bugs everywhere or sleep with everything closed and then it got quite warm at night.
